you.”
“No biggie. Don’t let your boyfriend wait too long. Allison noticed a guy standing about ten meters away
from the girl, dressed in a black hoodie. He seemed the same age as the girl and had that youthful
vibe.
The girl thanked her with a smile, then turned and walked towards the guy who was holding two
buckets of popcorn. She took one, turned back to Allison and said, “Miss, thanks for treating us to the
movie. This popcorn’s on me.”
Allison was taken aback but accepted the popcorn.
The girl looped her arm through the guy’s and they walked into the theater. Allison let out a quiet sigh,
then grabbed a handful of popcorn and took a bite. It was sweet. She glanced at her phone and noticed
the battery was running low.
Allison bought a ticket for a comedy, and she watched the movie alone.
The comedy was really entertaining. Despite being produced by newbies in the film industry, it was well
made with a rich and funny plot and even with some touching moments. The only regret was the abrupt
ending, but Allison was okay with it. By the time the movie ended, it was around 9:30 in the evening.
She left the theater with her phone dead. If she had known Lucian wouldn’t come, she would’ve gone
to work instead of wasting a night’s wage.
Allison stepped out of the theater, and it started to rain a bit. Before she left in the morning, Grace had
warned her about the possible rain and reminded her to bring an umbrella. So she had one now.
She took a cab home. Seeing her return, Grace was surprised, ‘Allie, why are you back so early?”
Allison said, “I swapped shifts with a friend and went out for a bit.”
“But why didn’t you buy anything? You should’ve bought some clothes and dressed up.” Grace was
knitting a scarf on the couch. Allison changed her clothes and walked over, “Mom, haven’t you already
knitted two?”
“These two are for your father and brother. It’s getting cold. I’m going to send them over.”
“This one’s for dad, right? What about Ricky’s? Let me knit his Allison started choosing the yarn from
the basket on the table, “How about a black one for him?”
“Great. Ricky will love it.”
Allison started knitting the scarf. She had done it before but was a bit rusty Luckily, Grace was there to
guide her.
She turned on the TV and chose the latest hit show, Golden Princess, to watch. The lead actress was
the famous Traci. The acting. directing, art aesthetics, and script were all flawless. No wonder the show
was a hit. The first four episodes had already piqued the viewers’ interest.
As Allison watched the show and knitted the scarf, she had made significant progress, but her knitting
wasn’t perfect, so the scarf didn’t look great. Compared to Grace’s, hers was pretty rough.
“You missed a stitch here.” Grace remarked with a chuckle.
Allison replied, “But I’ve already done so much. Even if I missed one, I can’t just unravel it all and start
over, right? I’ll keep this one for myself. I’ll knit a new one for Ricky tomorrow”
Thinking about Ricky, Allison had something to tell Grace.
“Mom, back then, did Ricky… did Ricky really die?”
Grace was knitting a scarf. Upon hearing this question, she paused, “Why do you suddenly bring this
up?”
