Chapter 383
Chapter 383
“Mom…” Allison looked at Grace.
The TV was blaring. Allison could hear the clear dialogues from the TV. She stared at Grace’s worn-out
face. Her heart pounded a few times before Nicholas Young’s face popped into her mind.
“Mom, at work, I met a guy who looks a lot like my brother, about the same age too.”
The look on Grace’s face was complicated, filled with sadness, gullt, and…
“Mom.”
Grace seemed to snap out of her own world. She looked at Allison, “Allie, I failed your brother…” Her
tears flowed like a broken faucet, “I was the one who handled his body. He and your dad were crushed
by a truck beyond recognition.” Recalling that, Grace choked up. “They were unrecognizable.”
Seeing her mom in such despair, Allison regretted bringing up the past. She hugged Grace, “Mom, it’s
all in the past.”
It seemed that before she had solid proof, she shouldn’t mention this to her mom. She needed to find
out if Nicholas really was her brother, or if he had any connection to her brother. Otherwise, she would
only stir Grace up for nothing.
Grace’s health was already poor, she couldn’t handle too much emotional upheaval..
In the evening when Grace had gone to bed, Allison went into the living room, turned off the lights, and
left the TV on, while watching an episode of a TV show and continuing to knit her scarf. When she
finished one, she tried it on and it seemed to fit well. She decided to keep it for herself. She would knit Content (C) Nôv/elDra/ma.Org.
a new one for Ricky tomorrow.
At Nicholas’ house.
A black BMW pulled over. Nicholas got out of the car. The butler immediately came over to welcome
him.
Nicholas handed the car key to the butler and walked into the living room. It was already 11 pm, but
Elisa was still awake. Hearing her son was home, she immediately came downstairs, “You’re finally
home. You’ve been coming home later and later these days. Do you have so many friends in
Northfield?”
Nicholas marched upstairs.
“Mom, when did you become such a gossip?” He said while loosening his tie.
Elisa asked, “Did you get a girlfriend?”
“How could that be? Mom, please don’t jump to conclusions.”
“You’re not getting any younger. Find one quickly. My son is so outstanding, and there are so many
socialites pursuing you. Do you have anyone you like?”
“No.” Nicholas sighed slightly, “I’m only 25. What’s the rush?”
“Can’t I be anxious?” Elisa said, “So many socialite ladies, you don’t like any of them? What about
Jessica? Makenna? Or…”
Nicholas strode upstairs. His room was on the third floor. Elisa followed, “So you don’t like any of them,
right? Can you tell me your type? I can help you find someone suitable based on your preferences.”
Nicholas had reached the third floor. He turned around, put his hand on Elisa’s shoulder, “Mom, it’s
already late. You should rest. You didn’t stay up this late just to ask me what type of girl I like, did
you?”
“Lucian is about to have a baby. His fiancée may not come from a high-class family, but she’s quite
attractive. She’s already 8 months pregnant. After she gives birth, the Lindberg family might throw a
wedding for them. You could spend more time with them. What do you think of Ms. Lindberg? Our
families are quite close. I’ll be visiting the Lindberg family and chatting with Miranda tomorrow. You
should come with me and meet Ms. Lindberg.”
Nicholas frowned slightly, “Mom, you’re not just randomly trying to set me up, are you?”
-He and Ms. Lindberg, there was no way.
