The Billionaire’s Maid Bride (Flanagan and Allison)

Chapter 381

Chapter 381

Patty shook her head, “Nah, I can’t.”

Allison chatted with Patty for a bit. After dinner, she was all set to hit the Red Jack Club.

Today was the 26th. Only five days left until this month was out. Even if she wanted to quit her job, she

had to stick it out till the end of the month. Allison came to Sarah’s office and told her of her decision to

resign.

Sarah was all for it. She seemed like she was waiting for Allison to quit all along.

“Allison,” she said, “You know, from the moment I first saw you, I knew your time here wouldn’t be long

because your abilities far exceed this place. You belong to somewhere else.”

“Sarah, thank you for looking out for me all this time.”

“No need to thank me.” Sarah smiled and said, “Just remember me when you hit the big time.”

“You bet,” Allison said, “Sarah, I need to take the night off.”

“You don’t usually take leaves. Why have you been taking so many lately?”

Allison offered a small smile, “Well… I have a date tonight.”

“A boyfriend?”

“More like a sugar daddy I can’t afford to piss off.”

Sarah ventured a guess, “Is it Mr. Lindberg?”

“Sarah, I’m surprised we’re on the same page.”

“Well, have fun with Mr. Lindberg on your date, Sarah paused for a few seconds. As Allison was about

to leave, she added, “Allison, try not to be too dominant or excessively rigid in your behavior. As a

woman, it’s better to have a gentle approach. Men tend to appreciate women who are gentle. With your

beauty, you should take advantage of your youth and your strengths. Don’t be too stubborn, otherwise,

you’ll be the one at a disadvantage.”

Allison stood there, her silhouette appearing delicate yet resolute, “I get it”

She might’ve been too domineering in the past, but she wouldn’t be anymore. She was definitely going

to take advantage of her beauty. She wouldn’t let Penelope hurt her mom ever again.

That night, Allison texted Lucian, “Mr. Lindberg, 7:30 at the Peak Movie Theater. See you there.”

She then took a cab to the mall where the theater was located and wandered around for a bit. When

7:30 rolled around, she made her way to the theater. The next movie was a comedy. Allison figured

Lucian probably wouldn’t be into that. The other movie was an indie film she’d already seen.

After a moment of hesitation, she bought tickets for a commercial sci-fi flick. She guessed Lucian would

enjoy that. There were still about twenty minutes until the movie started, so she waited in the lounge

area.

After ten minutes, with no reply or call from Lucian, Allison went to get a drink. She continued waiting.

Twenty minutes later, the theater’s announcement system urged those who hadn’t gotten in yet to hurry

up. The movie must’ve started.

Allison glanced at her phone. Still no word from Lucian. She bit her lip lightly.

To say she didn’t feel anything would be a lie. She wasn’t heartless, of course she felt something.

Allison chuckled softly, linged with a hint of self-irony. This man, who had promised her just this

morning, was now nowhere to be

seen.

Allison knew he was probably with Penelope. After all, he had his fiancée to look after Text content © NôvelDrama.Org.

So this was what disappointment felt like?

Usually, even when Lucian misunderstood her, or even bullied her, she never felt this down. But now,

Allison felt a weight in her chest. Her eyes were dry. She took a deep breath, downing her drink. It was

sweet. Then she got up, walked to the trash can, and prepared to throw away her ticket.

“Hey, miss, are you not gonna watch the movie?” Someone suddenly called out to her.

Allison tumed around to see a young woman, probably a college student, who was smiling at her, “My

boyfriend and I couldn’t get tickets for this movie. He’s really into it. If you’re not planning to watch it,

can you sell us your tickets?”

Allison’s voice was a little hoarse, “You can just take it
