Chapter 231
Chapter 231
They decided to meet at a restaurant near the hospital.
It was already past 4PM when Patricia's class ended, and by the time she reached the restaurant, it was nearly 6PM and just in time for dinner.
Darcie was closer so she arrived at the restaurant first.
When Patricia entered their private room at the restaurant, she noticed that Darcie was drinking a glass of alcohol, so she took her seat beside Darcie and tugged on Darcie's arm.
"Don't drink so much."
Darcie grinned when she saw Patricia. Her lovely features finally regained a sense of liveliness.
"I'll ask them to start serving the food now, Tricia. Drink with me. Here, I'll pour you a glass too."
Patricia frowned. "What's going on?"
She couldn't hold her alcohol well, and Darcie didn't like drinking either. She worked at a nightlife establishment selling drinks, so she detested these things.
"I'm celebrating! Poppy will be getting her surgery next Friday."
Darcie hugged Patricia as she said that.
"I've been waiting for this day for so long and it's finally here, Tricia! There's hope for Poppy and me now."
The two years they had spent in the hospital had drained everything out of Darcie. She lost everything.
Patricia's eyes brightened. "They found a donor? That's great. We should celebrate!"
She patted Darcie on the shoulder. "I'll drink with you today."
The food was served, and Patricia poured herself a glass before topping up Darcie's glass.
"Things are only going to get better for you and Poppy, Darcie."
Everything would be better, as long as they could leave the hospital.
Patricia began to recall what the past two years had been like. The hospital had become Darcie's second home. In the day, she would be at the hospital looking after Poppy, and at night, she would go in for her shift at Everbright. Life had been incredibly hard for her.
Darcie chuckled and clinked glasses with Patricia.
"Things will get better for all of us."
Darcia already had a few glasses before Patricia came. They continued drinking throughout dinner and even played a drinking game to boot.
In the end, Darcie was rather drunk, so she finally blurted out the most vexing thing on her mind.
"Tricia, do you know who Percy Henderson is?"
Meanwhile, Patricia had developed a sudden liking for hard liquor. The vodka they were drinking seemed to get sweeter with each mouthful. She had her glass raised when she heard Darcie's question, and she began to nod emphatically.
"Of course! He's Young Master Henderson, Isaac's childhood friend."
Darcie stuffed some food into her mouth and growled amid her chewing.
"He's so mean in bed. He keeps making me get into all sorts of embarrassing positions. I…" Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Darcie clutched her face. "Tricia, although I've been married before and gave birth to a child too, I don't have any experience in that area at all."
Patricia's eyes doubled in size. "Huh? Did Percy hurt you?"
That was all she understood from Darcie's words. She didn't know what Darcie meant by being forced to get into all sorts of positions.
Darcie nodded to her. "Yes. He hurt me. He's a big, bad meanie."
She recalled what he did to her over the past two weeks. He would keep her up every night with his incessant demands.
It's only for a few more days. Once Poppy's done with her surgery, I'll have nothing to do with him anymore.
At this thought, Darcie exhaled in relief. It was finally coming to an end.
After hearing Darcie say that Percy hurt her, Patricia couldn't sit still and do nothing. She immediately gave Percy a call.
"Hello?"
Percy's deep voice sounded cool and attractive through the phone.
"Percy Hendersen, you b*stard! Why did you hurt my Darcie?! Come and meet me right now! I'm going to fight you!"
Darcie chuckled when she heard what Patricia said. She downed her glass and gave Patricia a light tap on the head.
"He's in the army, you silly girl. He's an exceptional fighter! You won't be able to defeat him, and you'll get hurt too."
Patricia was in no mood to care about all that. She roared into the phone once more.
"Come to Marjorie restaurant right now, Percy! I'll be waiting here, and if you don't come, I'll go to your house instead!"
She ended the call and continued to fume.
"That punk! How dare he hurt my Darcie? I'll kill him!"
Percy was utterly baffled. He had no idea why he was being scolded, but he could tell that the two women had a little too much to drink.
