The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 390

Chapter 390

Ronan was draped over Cordelia, his phone sandwiched between their flushed faces as he had a voice

call with Janice.

"What's up?" Ronan asked Janice, his tone indifferent.

Janice's voice was so close, Cordelia could hear every word.

"Mr. Evans, do you have a moment?" Janice queried.

"Go on."

Cordelia was suspicious, wondering if Callum had caught a cold or if something else had come up.

"Adrian came over earlier, causing quite a ruckus. He claims Tabitha's pregnant, and he's saying it's

your responsibility. He's still here, and we can't seem to get him to leave," Janice informed, her voice

tense.

"Then let him stay!" Ronan retorted, abruptly ending the call. NôvelDrama.Org exclusive content.

Cordelia turned her head to the side, remaining silent.

"Do you actually believe that crap?" Ronan grumbled, tossing his phone onto Cordelia's pillow.

"Get off!" Cordelia tried to push Ronan off her, but her attempts were futile.

She aimed to slap him, yet, her fist ended up in his grip. She continued to fight, each strike falling into

his hand. The room echoed with the muffled sounds of her fists meeting his flesh.

Cordelia was seething. Of course, she didn't fully believe the rumors. Her fury stemmed from imagining

him back home, interacting with other women in ways she couldn't see.

Jealousy filled her heart. To him, Cordelia was just one of many women, and whether they shared a

bed mattered little. His liaisons with other women were merely to satisfy his physical cravings while

seeking out Cordelia was for enjoyment.

"Cordelia, are you okay?" A knock sounded at the door, accompanied by Taylor's concerned voice.

Taylor knew Ronan was no saint, and feared for Cordelia's wellbeing; he had been listening for any

signs of trouble from her room.

"I'm…" Before Cordelia could say she was fine, Ronan silenced her, swallowing any words she might

have said. Cordelia's hands clawed at his back, her legs kicking, but he held her firmly in his arms.

"If you're okay, I'll take my leave?" Taylor's worried voice came again.

"Uh-huh." Cordelia managed to pull away from Ronan's lips, gasping for breath before responding.

Once Taylor had left, the room fell into silence once again.

Ronan pinned Cordelia’s hands next to her pillow, and her legs were pinned under his. "You're a feisty

one, but I bet that makes things more fun," he whispered, his lips tracing her face, sometimes brushing

against her, sometimes pulling back. His hot breath, laced with pheromones, washed over her face.

Cordelia's heart pounded and fluttered, torn between anticipation and conflict.

She detested his dirty, unfaithful ways, but she craved his touch. His muscled torso was etched into her

mind. Cordelia's mind was filled with images of their entangled bodies.

"Get off!" Cordelia spat, her voice hoarse.

However, handling Cordelia was as easy for Ronan as handling a tiny bird. He entered her. Despite

Cordelia's vigorous resistance, it only seemed to excite Ronan further.

By the time the clock struck midnight, Ronan finally pulled away from Cordelia, sprawling on his side of

the bed.

"That was intense," he commented.

Cordelia ignored him, and her energy had completely drained.

She fell asleep.

The next morning, Cordelia was the first to wake. Her body had adapted to an early sleep and rise

schedule, while Ronan was still dealing with jet lag. Furthermore, he had taken an overnight flight and

hadn't slept for two nights. So when Cordelia finished her morning routine and left, Ronan was still

asleep.

After two classes, around 10 am, Cordelia remembered she had to video call Callum. At that moment,

Petra sent her a message. [Cordelia, I've packed my things. Should I come over now?]

Cordelia then remembered she had promised to take Petra to the airport. She thought, “Ronan hadn't

mentioned when he'd be leaving, so the video call with Callum would have to wait.”

At around 11 am, Cordelia and Petra took a cab to the airport.

"Hmm, Cordelia, what happened to your neck?" Petra asked.

"What?" Cordelia, in a rush that morning, hadn't paid much attention, and there was no full-length

mirror in the house, just the one in the bathroom.

"Did a cat bite you?" Petra teased.

"Oh," Cordelia understood immediately, laughing. "More like a leopard."

Petra seemed to not fully comprehend but just laughed in response.

At the airport, Petra told Cordelia, "Don't forget what I said, Cordelia. I hope we'll meet again."

Cordelia knew she would probably return to Millstone in the future, but she still thanked Petra for her

invitation, promising to visit if she had the chance.
