The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 388

Chapter 388

Both Ronan and Cordelia turned their eyes toward the door.

Cordelia rose, and upon opening it, Taylor stood there. She grabbed Cordelia's hand, who then swiftly

closed the door behind them.

"Here!" Taylor handed over a box to Cordelia.

"What is it?" Cordelia asked, lowering her gaze to see what she was holding.

It was a box of condoms.

Cordelia blushed. "What are you implying?"

"If he was asking for nude photos when he couldn't see you, who knows what he could do now that he

can? Better safe than sorry. He's a creep; don't let yourself end up pregnant," Taylor sternly warned

Cordelia.

"That won't happen. He may not even stay here," Cordelia tried to reassure herself.

"Who are you kidding?" Taylor responded sharply. "Just keep it."

With that, Taylor retreated back to her room.

Cordelia looked at the box of condoms, feeling somewhat embarrassed. She remembered Ronan’s

flirtations with Tabitha, their rumored trysts. Though the rumors may have been false, there was no

smoke without fire.

She slipped the condoms into her pocket and returned to her room. As soon as she walked in, Ronan

asked her, "What's in your pocket?"

Caught off guard by Taylor's interruption, she had completely forgotten what she and Ronan had been NôvelDrama.Org © 2024.

talking about before she stepped out.

"Huh?" Cordelia looked down at her pocket, now bulging slightly.

"Nothing. We hadn’t finished our conversation. Why is Alana out to get me?" Cordelia asked,

absentmindedly tidying her bed as she spoke.

"Some old drama. I don't really care," Ronan dismissed the topic.

The room fell into silence, and the quiet air slowly fermented into a tense and ambiguous atmosphere.

Cordelia felt her cheeks flush under its influence.

"Where are you staying tonight?" Cordelia asked, her voice quivering slightly.

"Why are you nervous?" Ronan observed, watching her slight tremble.

"I'm not!" Cordelia retorted.

In response to Cordelia's denial, Ronan simply chuckled, neither confirming nor denying it. "Of course,

I’ll stay in your bed tonight."

"That's not possible. I only have a single duvet on my bed. It's not big enough for both of us," Cordelia

said, her voice faint.

She felt humiliated, as if she was being treated like a disposable maid, summoned on his whim.

"I don't mind," he said, staring at Cordelia impassively.

"Well, I do!" Cordelia shot back.

By the time Cordelia had returned to her room, night had fully descended. The room was pitch black

and made even darker by the drawn curtains. Despite the darkness, Ronan could tell that Cordelia was

fuming.

Suddenly, Cordelia remembered the conversation they were having before she left. They were

discussing their child. How could she forget that?

"If you want to sleep in my bed, that's fine. But I'm video calling our child! Now!" Cordelia said, looking

at him with a challenging gaze.

"Let's sleep first."

"No!" Cordelia insisted.

"Do you not trust me? I'm here, aren't I? I won’t stop you from seeing our child," Ronan reasoned.

Cordelia thought, “Well, at least I could trust him on that.”

"You go freshen up," Cordelia said. "There are new toothbrushes in the bathroom. Here are your

towels."

Saying so, Cordelia fetched a face towel and a bath towel from her wardrobe and handed them to

Ronan.

Thankfully, the apartment had two bathrooms. Though Cordelia's room was small, it had everything she

needed. While Ronan was in the bathroom, Cordelia sat at her desk and finished the assignment her

professor had given her.

Before she finished, Ronan emerged from the bathroom, draped in a bath towel. The muscles of his

abdomen were casually exposed, catching her eye.
