Chapter 57. The Perpetrator
“Let’s meet up at Blue Canyon Informed Brent and ended the call
a was walking briskly toward my car when a man intercepted me
He was the head of my security team.
“Tid “I nodded in greeting
“Sir We are staking the house and your family.” He reported.
“Good. Keep me posted and mark my words If something happens to them, you will all pay up big time “I warned before getting into my car and driving away
This is the first time I used my name and my wealth to threaten anyone. I was not used to doing that, but the protective instinct in me was the one talking. I do not know what I would have done if something happened to my family, especially as I am not around to protect them.
When I got to Blue Canyon, Brent was already waiting for me.
“What did you find out?” I asked the minute I sat down.
Brent handed me a piece of paper.
“The suspect’s statement. Apparently, he was paid by someone. I kept digging, and your uncle fits the description in his report.
1 clutched the paper in one hand while the other formed into a fist and landed hard, the contents of our glasses sloshed on the table at the impact.
“What have I done? I asked no one in particular.
Shame and regret filled.
Now, I have proof that Briana did not plan the death of my parents. Uncle Matt did.
“Did you file the case?”
“Not yet. I need your approval first.”
“Do it if you need to hasten the process, I have no problem with it.”
My chest felt stuffy. Breathing becomes too hard.
“To think that in five years, I blamed her I divorced her when she was pregnant with our children. I want to kill myself, too, Brent! I said with gritted teeth, referring to Briana.
It was no wonder she hated me.
“It’s not your fault. You have amnesia at that time. Your uncle used your condition to manipulate you.
“Now, I know why Marcus Ford said what he said earlier. He had an inkling as to what Uncle Matt had done.”
And then, I lost it. I grabbed the shot glass from the table and gulped down its contents. When the glass was empty, I threw it, and it hit the wall. The sound of glass breaking reached our ears. Fortunately, we were in a VIP room, away from prying
eyes.
“Noah. Don’t blame yourself too much. How will you know that your uncle is capable of killing his own sister.”
My eyes became blurry, and I wiped at my cheeks. “I lost the first five years of my children’s precious time because of my idi*cy. I was a f*ol!”
I grabbed the edge of our table and upended it in my anger.
“I should have trusted my gut feeling. But how would I know that my own flesh and blood would betray me?” I rasped.
At this time, the Club manager got inside and saw the upended table and chairs and the broken shards of glasses and whiskey bottles.
They immediately cleaned up the mess while Brent tried to talk sense into me.
“Can you do me a favor?” I asked when the cleaning crew left.
“Anything. You know that I can never say no. You and I have become good friends these past years. You also helped me a lot. Brent admitted.
Another deep breath. “Can you get details on what happened to Briana after our divorce? What is her relationship with the Fords? Can you also check with the Civil Affairs Bureau if Briana is not married?”
Brent nodded.
I could see on his face that he wanted to say something but he chose to keep his

am Buch an ass. I mumbled over and over again.
Afterward, Brent called Langley. The two of them accompanied me to the police
station
It was past the time for visitation, but because I am a man of stature, the police department allowed me some time to talk to Uncle Matt.
I watched while two police officers escorted him. He was in handcuffs.
“You are an ingrate!” Uncle Matt spat the minute he saw me.
I met his anger with a smirk which was why Uncle Matt blew his top.
He came charging at me, intending to hurt me, but the police escorts were fast. They subdued him before he could lay a hand on me.
“Am I the ingrate or you?” I spat back.
“My mother loved you, but what did you do? You killed them!”
Uncle Matt looked stunned. This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
“W–what are you talking about?” Uncle Matt looked at me. His eyes grew wide.
I took the report Brent gave me earlier and threw it at his face before snarling
“Stop pretending, Matt. Your minion already confessed to the crime. It was too bad that I survived the crash and foiled your plans.”
He snorted.
The report said that the accident was staged to kill the three of us and make Briana appear as the mastermind. Luckily, I survived.
I didn’t know what would have happened to Briana if she had been falsely accused of a crime and arrested. She must still be serving jail time as of now.
That thought made my chest constrict in so much pain.
jost it.
marched up to Uncle Matt. With my clenched fist, I hit him on the jaw. He reeled at the impact, and blood oozed from his mouth.
“I will make you regret everything, Matt Bryant. I will make you wish you were never

born.” I promised before leaving the prison with Langley and Brent hot on my tail.
