Chapter 1249 Why Is She Here?

Jordy seemed to have read her mind and said expressionlessly, “Leave this matter to me.”

Gloria looked at him, somewhat surprised. Without saying anything, she seemed to wait for him to continue.

Jordy had calmed down. “Angela had been involved with the guy who’s supporting her. Now they’ve started taking action. You just need to live a normal life and you can count on me to take care of the other things.”

Gloria squinted. “Treating you and Grandma does me so much good, huh?”

Jordy’s face darkened again.

Gloria took no heed of it and smiled. “You don’t have to. I can handle all by myself.”

“Gloria White,” Jordy shouted out her name with repressed anger.

Gloria looked up lazily. “Yes, things are complicated. But I hope you can give me some privacy. We’re adults and have

our own considerations. Jordy Collins, I promised you I would protect myself well, and no one could harm me.”

If he didn’t even have faith in it, Gloria would not think it necessary to waste her breath on him.

“You…!” The blue veins on Jordy’s forehead pulsed.

The light in the car was dim, so Gloria didn’t notice it. She only knew he was in a bad mood.

Jordy said no more and started the engine.

On the way, neither of them said anything.

When Jordy drove back, the car wasn’t driven as fast as it could possibly go.

Gloria sat quietly in the passenger’s seat. Somehow, she drifted into sleep.

When Jordy parked the car, he found Gloria breathing evenly.

His cold gaze suddenly turned gentle and fell on her gorgeous face.

After a while, Jordy started the engine again.

He had driven her to Gloria’s place. Gloria had changed the fingerprint look and he couldn’t get in. Thus, he simply took her back to his house, or to be more exact, the place where they used to live together.

When the car stopped again, Gloria showed no sign of waking up. She had been tired recently. She stayed up overnight last night and was busy at work for a day, so she was really exhausted now.

Even she didn’t know she could fall asleep when Jordy was around her.

When she was lying in the bed in a sweet dream, a good smell wafted into her nostrils. Asleep, she vaguely felt she was hugged by someone, but she couldn’t tell who it was.

Gloria opened her eyes and turned off the alarm clock. Looking at the familiar yet strange room, she stiffened.

The next moment, she sat up abruptly and looked around.

The bedroom was quiet, and decorated in an elegant style. It was the place where she had lived for several years and which she remembered the most.

She felt it somewhat strange probably because she hadn’t come back since she left.

Gloria shook her head in disbelief, with her eyes closed, when she reopened them, she found she was still there. She was dazed.
