My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna)

Chapter 2168

Chapter 2168

She was staring at Hendrix.

Our family was usually quite peaceful and happy, but when there was an emergency, the children understood that they should settle things with their father first.

Ever the calm man, Hendrix calmly took his hand off my shoulder and sat on the sofa. He then said, "Come and sit."

Nodding, Anne walked to the sofa on Hendrix's left and sat down. After pondering silently for a while, she gathered up her courage and looked up at Hendrix. There was no going back for her now.

"Dad, mom. I didn't think it through regarding the matter with the club and didn't report it to you in time to seek your advice. Because I made my own decision and was much too shortsighted about it, I had stirred up trouble for you. The decision was on me and I will take full responsibility for it. I promise that it will never happen again."

She had said that sincerely, and her introspection was sound. It seemed that Anne had really reflected on herself.

But she was much too rational. Anne was still very young, and she had plenty of time to make all the mistakes she needed to learn the ropes. This wasn't what Hendrix was worried about.

She should trust her family unconditionally and overcome difficulties together with us. This basic instinct, which should have been engraved into her bones, might have been worn away after several years of formulas and algorithms.

Anne had rationally analyzed the problem and had found the appropriate solution, but had failed in her sensibilities. This is property © NôvelDrama.Org.

Hendrix remained expressionless. He was still dissatisfied with this explanation.

In his eyes, Anne was no different from Aurelia. He loved them because of me. Even if Josiah had once been his best friend, it was still unforgivable for Anne to have put him first.

We were both waiting for Hendrix to speak for quite some time, but the atmosphere gradually grew awkward. He seemed to have no intention of speaking.

I didn't want to dampen her enthusiasm. As I was about to speak, Hendrix quietly held me down with his hand and frowned, indicating that I shouldn't butt in.

"Since you've made a mistake, correct it and do better next time. We believe that you can do it." Hendrix sounded extremely cold and didn't even mention Josiah at all.

But there were some things that everyone had a tacit understanding of, even if they never mentioned it.

Josiah was like a subtle rope hanging between him and his daughter. Both of them were discreetly exerting their own wills, and neither of them wanted to give in.

This suffocating atmosphere was wearing me out. I couldn't stand it anymore, so I got up and walked over to the wine cab. "Should I pour you a glass? So that we can sleep well tonight?"

"Yes, please," Hendrix responded faintly.

I fetched two glasses and uncorked a wine bottle, Hendrix and Anne were still in the room. I muttered under my breath, "Well, Anne is still young 'll get Minnie to make a glass of hot milk for her later. Let's skip the wine."

"Yes, mom Anne's voice was very soft. From where I was, I could barely hear her. When she was faced with Hendrix all by herself, she and Wynn were the same. She felt more or less the same type of pressure.
