You Complete Me novel (Skylar and Coralie)

Chapter 398

Chapter 398

Unlike Coralie, when Xenia turned around and saw that woman, her happy expression immediately

faded and the corners of her mouth curled into a slight smile.

She tugged at her T-shirt and said awkwardly, "Auntie, are you shopping too?"

Seeing that Xenia, who usually did not bother about others, behaved in such a respectful attitude,

Coralie could immediately guess the woman's identity. She must be Harvey's mother!

"Yes." Harvey's mother took in Xenia from head to toe with a strange look in her eyes. "Xenia, do you

usually dress like this? It is different from what you wore the other day."

"I..." Xenia's face changed slightly and she quickly explained, "I was playing squash with a friend just

now. That is why I'm in sports attire."

"Do you play squash with jeans?"

Harvey's mother clearly knew that she was lying.

"Well... The sweatpants were soiled just now, therefore..."

Xenia could no longer make up excuses.

Seeing the situation, Coralie immediately stepped forward to help. She went to Harvey's mother and

said, "Nice to meet you, Auntie. You are Dr. Felton's mother, right?"

"Who are you?"

Harvey's mother looked at her and saw that she was dressed casually. She thought that Coralie was

just Xenia's ordinary friend, therefore she was reluctant to greet her.

Coralie knew what she was thinking and immediately introduced herself. "Auntie, I am Skylar's wife.

Skylar and Dr. Felton are good friends."

"Oh, you are Skylar's wife! No wonder you look so knowledgeable and dressed in such low profile

attire."

As soon as she heard Skylar's name, Harvey's mother, who had been expressionless just now,

immediately became friendly.

"Auntie, you are flattering me."

Coralie quickly humbled herself.

Harvey's mother smiled, "You girls are shopping, right? Then I won't disturb you any further. Go ahead."

"Alright, we will leave now, Auntie."

"Goodbye, Auntie!"

Coralie and Xenia said their goodbyes to Harvey's mother and then disappeared in a flash.

"Thank you, Coralie! You saved my life. Otherwise, I would not be able to explain why I'm playing

squash in jeans!"

Xenia felt that she had escaped from a crisis and was overjoyed.

It was also the first time when Coralie felt that the title of Mrs. Holland indeed came in handy.

However, when she thought about Harvey's mother's attitude, she was worried for Xenia. "Why do I

feel that Dr. Felton's mother is not easy to get along with?"

"That's true!" Xenia heard what she said and immediately felt as if she had found a soulmate. "Oh! Let

me tell you. The moment I entered the dining room that day and saw Auntie's face, I immediately knew

that I wore the right dress!"

"What did Auntie wear that day?" Coralie asked. Content provided by NôvelDrama.Org.

"What do you think? Despite the hot weather, she wore a formal dinner dress! If I wore a T-shirt with

jeans, she would definitely kick me out!"

It was a painful memory for Xenia when she thought about that day.

Coralie gave her a sympathetic look.

After they arrived at the coffee shop, they sat down and ordered a cup of coffee. Xenia continued to

complain, "Harvey had mentioned to me before that his mother was more traditional and had shown

me her photo. Therefore, I decided to wear a dress at the last minute."

"But doesn't that mean that you will need to pretend for the rest of your life?"

Coralie felt that it was not a good thing.

However, she also understood that mothers-in-law were usually more stubborn, especially when they

were choosing their daughters-in-law. To show their authority, they normally refuse to give in.

"Not only that. Do you know that she said she would give me a dinner dress as a present..."

Xenia laid her head on the table. She had lost all of her strength when she thought about this matter.

Dinner dresses were definitely not Xenia's cup of tea, but if it was Harvey's mother's request, she did

not dare to disobey.

"You will be wearing a dinner dress? Give me a call when you are wearing it." Coralie teased.

"Well, when I do wear a dinner dress one day with my hair tied up, I will guarantee that all heads will

turn to look at me when I go shopping with you!" Xenia said with a sullen face. "In fact, I do not want to

wear them at all, but what can I do?"

"Why don't you discuss it with Dr. Felton?"

"Oh, forget it. Your husband is so amazing, yet he could not do anything to his mother. Harvey is the

least ambitious one in his family, thus he does not have the authority to speak up." Xenia sipped the

coffee and avoided the question. Then she asked Coralie, "By the way, why are you unhappy

recently?"

In reality, it was Coralie who invited Xenia to meet her. Coralie wanted to tell Xenia about her job-

hunting problems, but in the end, she accompanied Xenia to shop for clothes and listened to her

complaints instead.

Coralie told her about her job- hunting experience, expressing her frustration.

"In that case..." Xenia thought for a moment, then suddenly looked up and asked. "Coralie, are you

fluent in French?"

"French? It's not bad..."

When she was in S Country, Yohan had specially trained her in many aspects to prevent her from being

mocked by the other members of the Watson family. One of them had been languages.

Coralie already had the foundation, but under the high-intensity training, her oral and listening skills had

improved significantly.

"My friend's company needs a part-time translator but it does not pay much. He asked me to find him

some college students. How would I know any college students? If you are interested, I can introduce

you to him."

Xenia casually mentioned it. She thought that Coralie would not accept that job.

However, Coralie was overjoyed instead, "I'm interested!"

After all, it was much better compared to working as an administrative assistant in a small company. At

least there was room for advancement.

"You are? The pay is not much and the job seemed to be relatively simple but time-sensitive."

Xenia did not expect her to agree.

"Yes, I'll go."

Coralie nodded.

"Oh, that's right, you are not short of money." Xenia was enlightened and picked up her phone. "Wait a

minute. I'll call my friend and tell him right now."

"Thank you!"

Coralie was extremely excited. Although she had never done any translation jobs before, she believed

that as long as she did well, she could improve step by step and make herself better.

She might even be able to assist Skylar in the future.

Xenia held her phone and spoke to her friend. After a while, she blocked the microphone and asked

Coralie, "If the interview is tomorrow morning, are you available?"

"Yes, lam."

Coralie nodded. Then she saw Xenia picking up the phone again and spoke to the person on the other

side of the phone. "Yes, she is available. She is my friend so do not be too fierce with her. Her husband

is..."

"Don't!"

Coralie knew what Xenia was about to say. She immediately got up and covered Xenia's mouth,

refusing to let her talk.

Xenia quickly understood Coralie's intentions. She nodded and went on to say, "Anyway, please take

care of her."

After she hung up the phone, Xenia voiced out her point of view to Coralie. "Coralie, Skylar's name is

so powerful. Why don't you make full use of it? If Harvey's name was as powerful as Skylar's, I would

definitely not hesitate to tell everyone about it everywhere I go!"'
