Chapter 732
Chapter 732
"Done talking?" Gilbert frowned, clearly displeased.
"Yeah." Sherilyn nodded. "What else do you want me to say? Do you doubt me?"
"Sherilyn."
Gilbert held his breath, his displeasure growing. "It's not that I doubt you, but this thing blew up on social media. Can't you just explain it to me? Reassure me?"
The air thickened for a moment.
Sherilyn gave him a cold look, unsure. "You're mad? Over something so trivial, really?"
Before she could elaborate, a knock sounded at the dressing room door.
"Come in!" Sherilyn called.
The door cracked open, revealing one of the crew members, all smiles. "Mr. Johnson-Sherilyn, a Mr. Martin sent afternoon tea for the whole crew. A junior assistant signed for it. Just wanted to let you know..."
Mr. Martin? Galen?
Sherilyn frowned, puzzled by his motives but since it was already here...
She smiled at the crew member, "Thanks, I got it."
"Sure." The crew member nodded, smiling, then discreetly closed the door behind him.
Turning around, Sherilyn found Gilbert's face had turned stormy, his eyes cold.
"Now, do you still think it's a minor issue?"
Sending afternoon tea, something he had done before! And Sherilyn had scolded him for it, demanding he never do it again!
Gilbert was livid. "That man has ulterior motives! Don't tell me you don't know!"
His words were laced with sarcasm and blame.
Sherilyn, unfazed, retorted, "Even if that's true, so what?"
"What?" Gilbert was taken aback, incredulous. "We're about to get married!"
"Why are you yelling at me?"
Sherilyn smiled wryly, shaking her head. "Is it my fault someone's courting me?"
She paused, then added, "Besides, given the current situation, it's not even certain we can get married..."
"What do you mean, not certain?"
Gilbert's expression changed rapidly, filled with jealousy, anger, and a hint of fear.
"It's certain! You promised me!"
"Sure, sure."
Sherilyn nodded repeatedly, too tired to argue, and stood up, indicating she was leaving.
"Where are you going?" Gilbert grabbed her wrist in a tight grip.
Sherilyn pointed towards the door. "To have afternoon tea. Didn't you hear?"
"Don't you dare go!"
Gilbert's eyes were fierce, his voice thunderous.
"What are you shouting for?"
Sherilyn jumped, exasperated. "Really, what's with you... We're not even married yet. What's wrong with having admirers? You're allowed to pine over your crush day and night, but can't have afternoon tea? Well, I'm going to, just because!"
She wrenched her wrist free and dashed out of the dressing room.
"Sherilyn!"
Gilbert's brows twitched... This Mr. Martin, where did he come from?
In Sunhaven, who dared to covet what was his?
Didn't everyone in Sunhaven know Sherilyn was his? Even if there were some who didn't know before, after
the recent social media storm, could there still be anyone unaware?
Under his very nose, someone dared to openly court his woman?Published by Nôv'elD/rama.Org.
A step behind, Gilbert chased after her.
Outside, Sherilyn was laughing and chatting with her colleagues over afternoon tea.
Gilbert watched silently, his brows knitted.
He knew she was doing this on purpose, just to vex him...
How could he possibly improve this situation?
At the hospital.
