SECRET MISSION
In the early morning, Kimberly was already busy arranging all of Nicholas’s belongings into his suitcase. Today, the man had a schedule to depart for the Maldives to inspect the construction project site.
While Kimberly continued to tidy up the contents of the suitcase, Nicholas himself seemed busy preparing. He had been sorting through and selecting which clothes he should wear.
“Do you think I look good in which outfit?” Nicholas asked, still wearing his bathrobe. His eyes were busy scanning the neatly hung pile of clothes inside the closet.
Kimberly glanced briefly in Nicholas’s direction. Then, after a while, she got up and approached him.
“Hmm, do you need to wear a suit?” she asked.
Nicholas shook his head gently.
“No need. Besides, once I arrive, I’ll head straight to the hotel. I’ll only inspect the site the next day.”Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.
Kimberly nodded in understanding. She then shifted her gaze to the closet. Her hand reached out to open Nicholas’s hanging clothes one by one. After a short while, she found what she was looking for.
“I think this black shirt would be suitable for you to wear this morning,” Kimberly said, pulling out a plain black slim-fit shirt and handing it to Nicholas.
Nicholas looked at her with a questioning expression.
“But didn’t I wear a shirt with a similar color and style last night?”
Kimberly did nothing but nod again. “Yes, you’re right,” she replied quickly. “And… I don’t know why, but I seem to be enchanted by you wearing a black shirt like last night. If I may be honest, you look even more handsome.” The next moment after saying that, Kimberly’s face blushed in embarrassment.
Nicholas narrowed his eyes. “So, are you saying that I wasn’t handsome before? Is that it?”
Kimberly raised her face again. “N-no, that’s not it. You’ve always been handsome, but for some reason, last night you looked different than usual. But, no matter how you are, I still love you,” she said honestly, then blushed again.
Nicholas smiled. Hearing Kimberly’s sincere and honest words made his feelings surge. Being called handsome wasn’t something new to him. It wasn’t arrogance; everyone knew that about him. But this was different. These words came from a woman he now considered special.
Then, Nicholas reached for Kimberly’s chin, directing her gaze to focus on him. Their eyes met as if trying to delve into each other’s thoughts, and the next moment, it was easy to guess what happened.
Nicholas’s lips brushed against Kimberly’s with tenderness, filled with emotion but also passionate. He gently parted her lips, engaging in a slow, sensual kiss, tenderly massaging, even tasting Kimberly’s tongue, causing her to involuntarily moan.
Meanwhile, the woman in front of him could only keep her eyes closed, savoring every kiss that Nicholas bestowed upon her. Occasionally, she reciprocated, nibbling and tasting as she pleased, enjoying every kiss that left her intoxicated.
Feeling satisfied, Nicholas reluctantly broke their lip-lock. However, the next moment, he directed his lips to kiss Kimberly’s forehead for quite some time before embracing her even tighter than before.
“I love you. How about we get married soon?” Nicholas’s sudden question caught Kimberly off guard as he released his embrace.
Kimberly was startled. She should have been happy when Nicholas asked her to marry him soon. But the problem was, she remembered her family’s situation now. It wasn’t certain whether Opa Arthur would approve of their marriage. Besides, up until this moment, Nicholas only knew that she was an orphan.
It crossed her mind to tell Nicholas. She thought that he should know now. After that, she could work on winning Opa Arthur’s heart. Because she was sure that getting the old man’s approval wouldn’t be easy. Replacing Mario with Nicholas was no simple matter.
“Kimberly,” Nicholas’s call snapped Kimberly out of her thoughts.
“Oh, yes. What is it?” she replied.
“Did you not hear what I just said?” Nicholas inquired.
“N-no, I heard you. It’s just that I was quite surprised to hear it. Do you really want to marry me soon?” Kimberly tried to confirm, just in case Nicholas was joking.
Nicholas smiled faintly. “Of course, my dear. I’m serious. Let’s discuss it all after I return from the Maldives.”
Nicholas moved away from Kimberly, grabbing the previously chosen shirt and putting it on quickly.
“Nick…” Kimberly attempted to interrupt Nicholas, who was now almost done preparing.
“What’s wrong?” Nicholas asked.
Kimberly took a slow breath.
“There’s something I need to talk to you about,” she said hesitantly.
Nicholas glanced at the clock hanging in the corner of the room. Believing there was little time left, he said, “How about we talk about it after I return from the Maldives? I think it’s almost time to head to the airport.”
Kimberly tightly sealed her lips, swallowing back the words she had prepared. Following Nicholas’s advice, she decided to tell him about her family when he returned from his business trip.
“Alright, we can talk about it later. I’ll change my clothes first. After that, we’ll go to the airport together.”

Kimberly cuddled affectionately beside Nicholas during the journey to the airport. Somehow, this time, she felt it was hard to let him go. There was something bothering her.
Meanwhile, Nicholas felt something was unusual about Kimberly’s behavior. She wasn’t usually this affectionate. Curious, he asked, “What’s going on?”
Kimberly lifted her face.
“Nothing, I just want to be content before you really leave me,” she replied.
Nicholas smiled affectionately and pinched Kimberly’s cheek.
“I’m only gone for three days, dear. After that, I promise, no matter where I go, I’ll take you with me.” A moment later, he reached for Kimberly’s lips, giving her a brief kiss before they finally got out of the car.
When Nicholas exited the car, Kimberly smiled and welcomed his extended hand. Together, they headed toward the airport lobby before truly parting.
“I can only accompany you this far. Let me know when you arrive there,” Kimberly requested. Without being asked, she immediately hugged Nicholas for quite some time.
“I’ll definitely keep in touch. Remember, don’t do anything reckless while I’m away. Take care of yourself from Edward’s harassment. After this, Randy will escort you straight to the office.”
Nicholas released his embrace, walked away, waved once, and then disappeared into the airport building. Kimberly continued to watch until the silhouette of the man vanished from her sight.
