Chapter 46 Preparation
Chapter 46 Preparation
Seeing Kara return to the classroom with a notebook in her hand, Arya came up to her and placed one
arm round Kara's shoulder.
"Good for you. You are actually seeing someone behind my back! Tell me about it." NôvelDrama.Org holds © this.
Kara pushed Arya away in disgust at the sight of Arya's meaningful smile.
"What do you mean by seeing someone? He gave me this notebook to help me with my study. He is
just being nice."
"Things are going fast between you guys! You've already accepted his love token."
Arya snatched the notebook from Kara and gasped at the boy's handwriting in admiration.
He was indeed a straight A student. Even his handwriting was incredibly beautiful.
Kara rolled her eyes at the sound of "love token" and said, "This is simply a notebook. How could it be
a love token? You are really exaggerating."
"I'm not exaggerating. As I see it, it's precisely because the school hunk is fond of you that he gave you
his notebook. Otherwise, why didn't he give it to me? My grades also need improvement." Arya
snorted.
"... Why would he give his notebook to a person who is willing to get a goose egg?"
Kara did not want to talk about this with Arya anymore. She snatched back the notebook and looked at
Eli's notes, which reminded her of the letters James wrote while tutoring her last night.
James' handwriting was so powerful and beautiful that it was even comparable to the model for
calligraphy.
Moreover, those letters were in alignment, as if they were measured with a ruler.
Is Uncle James obsessive-compulsive?
There were only three months left before the college entrance examination, and Kara felt overwhelmed
by the exam papers.
However, the notes Eli gave her were really helpful. They were all knowledge points that she did not
understand, as if they were specially made for her.
There were a few sticky notes posted beside difficult questions to cheer her up, and more interestingly,
there were many jokes written beside the answers to make her laugh.
At night, in the study.
James glanced at Kara coldly when he saw her laughing while doing homework.
"Is there anything funny?"
"No."
Kara tried to hide the notebook under her exam paper, yet she failed to trick James' keen eyes.
James came up behind her and swiftly took away the notebook.
"Uncle James, that's mine."
Kara suddenly remembered how Arya argued that this notebook was a love token from Eli, and she
reached out to snatch it back.
But James was so tall that she had to jump up to get it.
She anxiously stared at the notebook. In order to stabilize her body, she placed one hand on his
shoulder and bumped into him when she jumped up. She did not care and continued to snatch the
notebook.
"Uncle James, this is my review material."
"If this is not a lover letter, but your review material, then why can't I read it?"
Kara was rubbing against him. James gritted his teeth to resist the impulse in his body and bent his
arm round her shoulder so as to protect her from falling down.
When he opened the notebook, he lapsed into a sullen silence—it was not her handwriting at all.
James stares coldly at her guilty face and felt rather distressed.
"This isn't your notebook. Did a boy give it to you?"
He knew her handwriting and such powerful letters were clearly written by a boy.
"Yes." She replied, lowering her head.
"Is that boy interested in you?"
He was once a high school student and he knew it was likely to be emotionally involved with others
during that period. It was obvious that this notebook was specially prepared for her, because it
collected all the knowledge points that Kara had not thoroughly absorbed.
What did it mean when a high school boy intentionally prepared notes for a high school girl?
The boy had a crush on the girl!
"No. We're just friends." Kara was nervous, afraid that he would get angry.
"You are too young to fall in love with each other." James tossed the notebook into the trash can angrily
and stared at her coldly.
"You are not allowed to receive gifts from those boys anymore. Have I made myself clear?"
Kara seemed to feel wronged. She stared at the trash can, frowning and biting her lips.
"But..."
"No bargaining!" James ordered tyrannically.
Kara clenched her fists tightly. "Uncle James, you misunderstood me. I use this notebook simply
because it is better structured."
"Throw it away!"
Seeing Kara currying favor with him while picking up the notebook from the trash can, James looked
sullen.
Kara took out the notebook from the trash can and stubbornly protected it behind her. "Uncle James, I'll
return the notebook to that friend tomorrow. Don't be angry."
He stared coldly at her with a terrifying aura.
Kara was so nervous that her lips turned pale.
Suddenly, James sneered with extreme mockery.
"You're right. I'm not your biological father after all. I have no say about your social life."
After he left the study, Kara heard that he slammed the door downstairs.
He was out.
And he was angry!
Kara held the notebook in her arms with tears rolling down her cheeks.
She seemed to have angered Uncle James again.
What should she do?
In the VIP room on the top floor of the Imperial Club.
As soon as James arrived, Rory placed his arm around James' shoulder with a vulgar smile on his
feminine face.
James shook off his arm in disgust, "Go ahead if you have something to say. I can't stand the strong
perfume on you!"
"..."
Rory frowned and sniffed at his shirt. He did not smell anything.
However, he had hugged a few women just now. It might be the scent of their perfume.
He tittered. Only James would be so sensitive to this kind of faint smell.
"I heard that you've adopted a little girl?"
"You learned about that from Will?"
James stared coldly at Will, who was drinking beside James.
Will, who was unexpectedly cued, suddenly felt a killing aura coming towards him. He turned around
and met James' cold gaze, cursing Rory for being gossipy.
Rory felt uncomfortable to be scolded by Will.
He responded, "Will was not wrong. Last time, you mentioned that you would find a young woman with
a thin waist and long legs. Don't tell me that, as a man in his late twenties, you've never dreamed of
having sex with her."
"Rory, get over here. I promise I won't kill you!" James seemed to be bristling with anger.
Rory immediately jumped away and ran behind Silence Chace to keep himself safe.
As his name suggested, Silence was always silent. He had once been a professional boxer and was
used to expressing himself with fists.
Amongst them, Silence and James were best friend to each other. They always hung out together.
There were once rumors that James was gay, the first person everyone thought of was Silence.
When being joked about this, they would punch the guys hard and no one had ever made such jokes
again.
Silence would not be happy to be James' gay friend.
