Unbreakable Love His Passion for Her Transcends Death

Passion 36

Daphne had happened to overhear the last sentence, and she couldn't help but find it a little strange.

Mark wasn't the type to gossip. He only exchanged a few words with her and didn't tell her about

Yvette's return.

Daphne didn't pursue the matter further, but she secretly held a grudge against Mark.

She then walked straight to Xavier. "Xav, Madam Shannon wants us to have dinner together tonight."

It was obvious that it would be another occasion where they urged Xavier and Daphne to get married and

have children soon.

Xavier replied without looking up. "Got it."

Hearing this, Daphne sat on the couch in the office. "I'm free today, so I'll wait here for you."

Xavier narrowed his eyes at her. "Are you that free?"

Daphne was taken aback. Before she could respond, he coldly added, "I don't like having others around while I work."Content bel0ngs to Nôvel(D)r/a/ma.Org.

She was left speechless. She stood up and said, "I'll wait outside."

Xavier didn't respond further. Daphne reluctantly left the office.

Regardless of their previous or current relationship, Xavier had always had this cold, distant demeanor. Only Yvette could tolerate him unconditionally. 1

While taking a walk to clear her mind, Daphne noticed that Tristan's office was empty.

She asked the secretary, "Hasn't Tris been coming in lately?"

"Mr. Shaw Senior is arranging Mr. Shaw's marriage, so he hasn't been around," the secretary replied

honestly.

Marriage? Daphne's heart sank.

Tristan had refused Archibald's arrangements multiple times for her sake. As she learned that Tristan's marriage was being arranged, she felt a sense of unease creep into her heart "Do you know who the bride is?" Daphne inquired.

The secretary thought for a moment and said, "The Shaw family is doing an open selection for a granddaughter-in-law, Women from ordinary families surely won't meet Mr. Shaw Senior's standards." An open selection? That meant nothing was finalized yet.

Daphne felt much better. She went to the private lounge and couldn't help but call Tristan.

She had known Tristan for so many years, and he had never been upset with her. Since he had been cold to her for the past four years, there must be a reason for it. She had to find out the reason.

Meanwhile, Tristan stopped by Mansion Nine. He looked out the car window and asked, "She lives here?

The bodyguard replied, "Yes."

He was about to ask more when his phone rang,

Seeing th

it was a call from Daphne, he picked it up. The only reason he hadn't settled the score with her all these years was because of Xavier. If it hadn't been for the fact that Xavier liked her, she wouldn't exist anymore.

And now, she was calling him?

Tristan wondered if she had heard about Yvette's return, so he answered the call. "What's the matter?"

Daphne couldn't believe it. In the past, he had always hung up on her calls. "Tris, I heard Mr. Shaw Senior is arranging a marriage for you?"

Tristan raised his eyebrows. "You seem very interested in my personal affairs."

His distant and cold voice made Daphne uncomfortable. "We're friends. Of course, I care about you. I'm worried you might meet the wrong person. Tris, if you have someone in mind, you can tell me. I can check her out for you."

It seemed that Daphne still took him for a fool.

Tristan scoffed. "Check her out? Where do you get your confidence from? Have you forgotten? To my grandfather, you're just an actress. If you were to choose someone, not only would he not be satisfied, but she also wouldn't fit into my circle. You should be well aware of that."

With that, Tristan hung up the call. Daphne's expression darkened.
