The Stepbrother’s Hidden Desires

Chapter 57: “Bit by Your Son!”

Annabel’s phone call lasted almost an hour. By the time she emerged, the lights in the private room were dimmed, casting a shallow blue glow from the big screen. Most people had already left, leaving only a couple in the corner of the sofa.

Aria was pinned into the sofa by Logan, who was almost completely leaning on her, his head buried in her neck. Was this really the usually aloof Logan?

Aria tilted her head back against the cushion, one hand around Logan’s waist, the other under his shirt.

Sensing someone watching, she opened her eyes to see Annabel standing by the bar, her left hand in her pocket and a cigarette in her right, the tip glowing in the dim light.

She watched them coolly from a vantage point.

As Annabel approached, Aria didn’t look embarrassed; instead, she smirked, a mix of seduction and challenge, as if declaring her territory to Annabel.

Annabel, uninterested in watching others’ intimate moments, stubbed out her cigarette in an ashtray on the coffee table. “I’m heading back. You two carry on.”

Her voice was calm, not the least bit embarrassed by catching them doing that.

Logan drove her here. Her license is suspended, so she got him to be her chauffeur. Now, it seemed he couldn’t be counted on.

Logan suddenly lifted his head from Aria’s shoulder and called out, “Annabel?”

He frowned, struggling to shake off Aria’s hand from his shoulder. He looked at her for a moment, then stood up, glanced at Annabel, and tried to steady himself. But his legs gave way, and he fell back onto the sofa. Aria reached out to help him, but he pushed her away.

Annabel had left to make a phone call, and Logan had been perfectly sober then. Now, after the call, he was drunk. Logan was usually a disciplined person who never let himself lose control. Annabel suspected he might have intentionally gotten drunk to have an excuse for inappropriate behavior, and she had stumbled upon it.

Aria sneered, “What are you looking at? Never seen a couple fight?”

Annabel chuckled, leaning on the bar with her right elbow, watching with a teasing expression, but she said nothing, much to Aria’s frustration.

Annabel had no intention of staying to watch. She slipped her finger through her keychain and twirled it as she walked out.

“You, Stop.”

Logan’s low voice came from behind. It sounded weak, and Annabel stopped, raising an eyebrow.

Logan hung his head, pressing his hands against his temples. “Bella, come here.”Belongs to NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.

Logan rarely called her by her nickname. His voice was low, and she detected a hint of… resentment?

What the hell? He had taken advantage of another girl, so what was there to be resentful about?

Aria was clutching a pillow so tightly that her fingers dug into it, her face pale.

Logan ignored her, using the sofa for support as he stood up. His cheeks were flushed, and his dark eyes were hazy, like a clear stream shrouded in a thin mist. Even Annabel, who usually held deep prejudices against him, found him less annoying at that moment. Logan was handsome, easily attracting admiration from women at first sight.

Logan swayed as he walked towards her, and several thoughts raced through Annabel’s mind. She asked Aria, “Why don’t you take him?”

Aria retorted, “He’s mad at me. Isn’t he your brother?”

Annabel smirked, “I don’t acknowledge him.”

Aria’s face turned even paler. She suddenly stood up and quickly walked out, her high heels clicking on the floor and then fading into the hallway.

Annabel genuinely intended to give Aria a chance. Why not seize a good opportunity?

She looked helplessly at the big problem before her. Logan was standing just a step away, looking at her with innocent puppy-like eyes. He leaned against her, and Annabel, couldn’t support his weight, causing them both to crash to the floor.

Her back hit the cold marble floor, while Logan’s warm breath brushed against her neck. Before she could push him away, she felt a sharp pain in her neck-Logan had bitten her!

She shoved him off and stood up, kicking him, “What the hell is wrong with you?”

She turned and walked out of the room. Looking back, she saw that he hadn’t followed. She gritted her teeth and turned back. Logan had fallen asleep on the floor.

After much effort, she managed to support him, but Logan was much taller, with most of his weight pressing on her. She felt like her shoulder might collapse.

“I should just leave you on the street!”

She cursed but couldn’t bring herself to abandon him.

The KTV was a long T-shaped design, and the elevator was still far away. Annabel walked a bit and was exhausted, so she propped Logan against the wall to rest. She heard Paul wailing faintly down the hallway, and the fourth door was half-open. If she remembered correctly, that was where David and his group were.

She was still angry and had no intention of asking David for help. Struggling, she continued to support Logan as they walked. As she passed the private room, she instinctively glanced inside.

With just one look, she locked eyes with David, who was sitting directly opposite the door, as if he had been waiting for her.

He stepped out, frowning. “Why are you two the only ones here? Where’s everyone else?”

She responded coolly, “They left.”

David had hoped Logan would keep an eye on Annabel, but now Logan was the one who had gotten drunk.

David helped her get Logan into the car. Just as he reached to open the front passenger door, the doors all locked with a click. Without saying another word, she drove off, leaving him standing there.

David had waited all night, only to be left frustrated. She had insisted on hearing the truth, but telling her the truth only seemed to make her angrier. Did she want honesty or lies?

Meanwhile, Annabel tossed Logan on the couch the second she walked in, totally freaking out Brenna and Thomas.

Thomas frowned. “What’s going on?”

Annabel rolled her eyes. “Class reunion. He had a fight with his girlfriend and drank too much. You can ask him who his girlfriend is!”

Annabel deliberately turned up her collar to hide the bite marks on her neck.

As she poured herself a glass of water, Brenna, ever observant, noticed the marks when Annabel bent over. Brenna quickly looked away and turned her attention to Logan.

Annabel, unaware, shook her sore arms and went to Bonnie’s room to chat with her grandmother before heading upstairs.

Logan’s door was open, and Brenna and Thomas had just come out. Brenna paused. “Thank you, Bella.”

Brenna liked to play the role of a gracious, caring stepmother in front of Thomas. Annabel sneered but held back a retort, seeing Thomas’s serious expression. She shrugged in response.

Brenna looked at Thomas and smiled. “Bella seems to be in a good mood lately. Could it be love?”

Annabel froze. There was a hint of affectionate teasing in Brenna’s words, but the more affectionate she was, the more insincere it felt. Annabel felt uneasy. Sure enough, Thomas looked at her sternly. Annabel responded calmly, “That’s not the case.”

She knew very well that neither Thomas nor her grandmother would approve of her being with David. Even without external obstacles, their relationship was unstable, let alone if Thomas and the others found out.

Brenna wasn’t about to let it go. She pointed to Annabel’s neck and softly reminded her, “It might be better to cover that up tomorrow.”

Thomas’s face immediately darkened. Annabel wouldn’t take this lying down. She glanced at Logan’s room and said, “Your son bit me.”

Brenna’s mouth opened in shock, but she couldn’t make a sound. The marks were in such an intimate spot. Annabel decided to reveal more, saying, “It really was your son. He mistook me for his girlfriend. There was kissing and biting. It still hurts.”

Seeing Brenna’s doubtful expression, she added with a smile, “Don’t believe? Ask your son tomorrow.”

Annabel wanted to frustrate Brenna and Thomas. Brenna felt extremely awkward. For over ten years, Annabel had been a thorn in her side. If she got involved with Logan, things would only get worse.

Annabel secretly laughed to herself, glancing at Thomas. His eyes first fell on her, then drifted thoughtfully to Logan’s room. But he said nothing.

Sensing something, Annabel sneered. What was the old fox plotting? She would already consider it generous if she didn’t find a way to get rid of Brenna’s son.

Logan didn’t wake up until late in the morning. He remained as cold as ever, and Annabel didn’t mention the incident. As for whether Brenna had questioned Logan about it, she couldn’t care less. It was their problem, not hers.
