The Great Medical Saint

Chapter 186

"Why, you-" Rachel was so exasperated that she couldn't continue.

Just then, Tracy came in. When she saw the coffee on the table, she picked it up and downed it. Matthew's facial muscles twitched at the sight, but he didn't say anything.

Tracy had called Rachel earlier to let her know the problem with the herbs had been resolved, so the latter was in a good mood.

She teased, "Matthew's just taken a sip of the coffee, and he said it was a bit hot. Didn't you think so, Tracy?"

Tracy immediately caught her drift. The point wasn't whether the coffee was hot-it was that Matthew had drank from the same cup. Didn't that mean she'd... shared an indirect kiss with him?

The thought of it made her face flush. She swatted Rachel. "Why didn't you stop me? You just stood there and watched as I made a fool of myself!"

Rachel was taken aback. Something was off here. Knowing Tracy, she should've gotten mad at Matthew. Why was she being blamed?

Matthew stood up when he saw how they were acting. "You two chat. I need to step out."

Once he was gone, Rachel said, "You're always talking about teaching him a lesson. Why did you take things out on me today?"

Tracy couldn't help thinking to herself that she'd only treated Matthew like that in the past because she had no idea he was that powerful. Now that she knew what he was capable of, she didn't have the nerve to do anything to him. There was also the fact that she knew Matthew's secret while Rachel didn't. For some reason, it made her feel a lot closer to Matthew. The slightest hint of a crush formed in her heart.

She pushed these thoughts away and pounced on Rachel. "It's all your fault for not reminding me. Try my boob-attack fist!"

They became entangled as they laughed and screamed. After a while, they finally settled down with their clothes messy and hair mussed up. They talked about how they were going to resolve this conflict with the Smith family.Property © 2024 N0(v)elDrama.Org.

As Matthew took the elevator down, he couldn't stop his mind from whirring. Jenny and Cosmo were still hiding at Opulent Club because Red Wolves wanted Medieval Medicine.

Red Wolves were after the medical book, and now, Ozenia Charity had joined the party. They wanted the traditional herbs.

He recalled how Lambda News had tried to discredit traditional medicine and its practitioners. There seemed to be a connection between all of these events.

Matthew was trying to figure it out when his phone rang. He immediately answered when he saw it was Stanley calling.

Stanley said anxiously, "Hurry home, Matt! Xavier's taken Lori away! She was playing with some other kids on the street when he just came and carried her off!" Matthew's heart clenched. He'd given Xavier a beating the last time, and here the latter was, kidnapping Lorraine. What was he up to?

His anxiety grew as he watched the elevator descend slowly. When it arrived at the basement, he burst out and jumped into his car. Then, he sped out of the basement parking lot

He put the pedal to the metal, making the car shoot forward. Cars honked at him from all directions, and many of them swerved to make way for him.

Matthew drove as fast as he could, but it still felt too slow. When he arrived, he slammed the brakes, making them screech.

The car had yet to stop fully when he jumped out and ran to the villa's entrance. He jumped over the fence and landed in the courtyard. Then, he roared, "Get the fuck out here, Xavier!"

His roar was loud enough to compare to clapping thunder, and the fury within it made everyone who heard it quake in their boots.

A dog started barking from inside the house. Jennifer opened the door and gave him a disgruntled look.

"What are you doing here again? I've

yet to settle the score with you for attacking Xavier. Yet, you dare show your face here!" She shouted at the dog, "Go bite him! Bite him!"

The dog barked while charging at Matthew. Then, it pounced and opened its jaws wide!
