She loves the Crown Prince
Adolphus and Joshua began arguing in the kitchen, the former holding a ladle in his hand, the latter having a small bowl in his hand.
“Your Grace, I didn’t say anything wrong. Iris will definitely puke to drink this soup. It’s gross,” Joshua said as he stuck his tongue out while making a weird facial expression.
“I’m going to hit you with this,” Adolphus said as he raised the ladle at Joshua.
“Your Grace!” Iris’ voice reverberated in their ears and they looked toward the door. “Why did you His Grace raise the ladle?” she asked, wondering what was happening between them.
Adolphus quickly dropped his hand.
“The Crown Prince was trying to hit” Joshua abruptly turned quiet when Adolphus hit his elbow and glared at him.
“Iris, why did you leave the bed? I had clearly instructed you not to leave your bed,” Adolphus said softly and took the bowl from Joshua. He quickly put it aside and told Iris he would bring the soup for her.
“It has already been half an hour, Your Grace. I will cook for everyone,” Iris stated in her humble tone and walked up to him. She took the ladle from Adolphus’ hand and asked Joshua to bring the Crown Prince outside.
She gazed into the vessel and found Adolphus did not how to cook. She took a spoon and sat in front of the ground stove. Taking a spoonful of soup, she brought it close to her mouth when Adolphus stopped her.
“You should not taste it. I don’t know what it has turned into,” Adolphus proclaimed, but Iris did not listen to him and tasted the soup.
Joshua widened her eyes to see that and remarked, “I hope your tastebuds will stay alive.”
Adolphus glared at him again and then asked Iris why she did not listen to him.
“The soup is not bad. Since it is the first time the Crown Prince tried making the soup, I can understand how much effort he put into this. I feel privileged,” Iris stated with a warm smile on her lips.
Adolphus’ heart melted to hear that remark. Unlike Joshua, she did not make fun of his cooking skills. “I will take His Grace outside. You should do the cooking, Iris,” Joshua asserted and dragged Adolphus outside.
He moved away from Adolphus and found him smiling. “She loves the Crown Prince. That is why she found it good. Moreover, Iris would not dare to say anything that would anger the Crown Prince,” Joshua claimed.
Adolphus gazed at him as his smile slowly disappeared. “Iris said that from the bottom of her heart. You cannot understand this,” he affirmed and saw the dishes which were fallen on the ground. He realized those werewolves were the ones, who threw even the food which Iris had made.
Adolphus decided to pick those, lessening Iris’s work while he asked Joshua to check on the old lady once. Joshua complied with the request and went to the old lady’s room.
Adolphus had picked up the broken dishes and put them aside from the dinner table when Joshua returned. “The old lady is still unconscious. I think she will be awake in the morning,” he asserted. This content © 2024 NôvelDrama.Org.
“Your Grace, the King, and the Queen will not like your decision,” Joshua again returned to that conversation, causing Adolphus to gaze at him.
“They will comprehend me soon,” Adolphus stated while being confident.
“What if after this curse gets uplifted, you will find your true mate and that doesn’t be Iris? What will His Grace do then?” Joshua inquired. The question was important because Joshua believed that someday Adolphus’ curse would definitely uplift.
“Iris is my mate. This is what my heart says, Joshua,” Adolphus pronounced with faith in his intuition. “Did you find your mate yet?” he then flipped the question at Joshua.
“Not yet,” Joshua promptly replied. “I think I want to fall in love magically,” he admitted his deep desire.
“Magically?” Adolphus amusedly glanced at him and sat on the large table placed there. “What does that statement mean?” he queried.
“Umm… I want to fall in love unexpectedly. This is tough to explain, Your Grace,” Joshua affirmed.
Adolphus hummed in response. “The blood moon is near. Legend says that the Moon Goddess makes you meet your mate in this rare event. Who knows you will find yours,” he remarked with a warm smile.
“I will wait for that moment,” Joshua affirmed.
“The witches will also be powerful that night. They perform rituals and because our senses to hear and smell heightened, we may get their location,” Adolphus proclaimed.
“If the Crown Prince is thinking of chasing Katerina that night, then he should stop already. It can be harmful to him,” Joshua advised him. “The blood moon night will make both the werewolves and the witches for a few hours, but that will bring consequences if they clash with each other,” he further explained.
“Joshua, this is my opportunity to reclaim the moon crystal from Katerina and finally break the curse that has plagued me. I must take this chance, even if it comes with risks,” Adolphus declared.
Joshua, concerned for his friend, asked, “But what if things don’t go your way?”
Adolphus responded confidently, “I’m certain it will work this time.”
Sitting beside him at the table, Joshua pressed further, “Why is the Crown Prince so confident about this? Katerina is a three-hundred-year-old witch who will perform every ritual to bolster her strength that night. Please, I implore you to heed my advice and not pursue her on that fateful night.”
However, Adolphus did not concur with him. “Joshua, I do not wish to live in a curse anymore. Iris could have died today if we had not reached here at the right time. I never felt helpless in my life, not even when I was cursed for not finding my mate. I want to gain my lost strength back, and I will do my best to fulfill my last time’s task. If I don’t stop Katerina that night, she will be a problem to not only the werewolves, but the humans too,” Adolphus elaborated to Joshua.
