The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 47

Chapter 47

"Are you asking for a sacking?" Since Cordelia made Ronan feel utterly embarrassed and naturally, he

was pissed.

He lit a cigarette and then slammed the lighter onto the desk with a loud bang.

"Are you doubting that the umbrella I bought for you is a knockoff?" Cordelia was also fuming.

"You're quite the thinker." Ronan squinted at Cordelia, his eyes unreadable to her.

"Tell me, do you really think that the umbrella is fake?" Cordelia was getting even angrier. It turned out

that he was easily influenced by Deanna's instigations.

Cordelia walked over to Ronan with her phone, showing him her chat history with her classmate,

Vivian.

"Last Friday, I transferred $1,000 to Vivian. She's not a professional shopper, she was just doing me a

favor. Even if she wanted to scam me, she wouldn't be able to find a fake! What else could it be

besides the real deal?" After saying this, Cordelia put her phone back in her pocket.

Ronan's anger subsided.

Cordelia scrolled through the texts quickly, but he managed to catch two sentences.

[Who's it for? Such an expensive umbrella?]

[Anyway, it's for someone very important.]

[Boyfriend?]

Cordelia didn't answer.

So, in Cordelia's eyes, he was a "very important person".

"So what are you trying to say?" Ronan's face noticeably softened.

He should have realized earlier that Deanna was deliberately stirring the pot, but he really didn't know

how to tell if the umbrella was genuine or not.

And this involved Cordelia...

Cordelia still cared so much about money.

"So, it was wrong of you to make me sleep in the room next door. You nitpick me, allow yourself to

make mistakes but not me, and easily believe in rumors." Cordelia was furious thinking about how he

had made her move to the next room to sleep because of Deanna's words.

"Can't you sleep alone?" Ronan teased.

"I feel wronged."

"Scared? Want to move back into my bedroom?"

"Don't flatter yourself!" Cordelia answered.

But honestly, Cordelia was a bit scared last night. After all, the Evans family's mansion was huge and

she had never been to that bedroom before when she was with the Evans family, it was unfamiliar and

naturally she was a bit scared alone.

"You can move back into my bedroom, depending on how you behave." Ronan's lips curled slightly, in Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.

a good mood.

Cordelia sneered at the idea of "depending on how you behave", because there is no specific standard

for seeing performance, it totally depends on his likes and dislikes.

"I will gradually get used to sleeping alone." Cordelia said with a bitter tone.

"Oh? It seems like you're really not used to it. Is it because you're missing something?" Ronan is

usually very serious and rarely jokes around with people, let alone somewhat flirting words like this.

"You're what I'm missing. Mr. Evans, isn't that what you want to hear, to satisfy your vanity? Anyway,

you made me sleep in the next room, and I made you lose your dignity in class, we're even." Cordelia

replied, lifting her head.

"What exactly are you missing about me?" Ronan continued to prod.

Cordelia's face turned red and she wanted to leave.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier that the umbrella was real? Why did you wait until I lost my dignity to tell

me?" Ronan had just gained the upper hand in the conversation and wanted to continue teasing

Cordelia.

"I just wanted to see you lose your dignity!" Cordelia answered nonchalantly.

Just then, there was a knock at the door.

Ronan immediately switched to his serious tone when he talked to his subordinate, saying in a

magnetic and serious voice, "Come in."

The person who came in was Jordan.

He had been eavesdropping outside the door.

The news of Cordelia sleeping in training class had already spread throughout the company.

By common sense, as a director, he should take action, so he came to consult Ronan.

But he had already heard their conversation...

Yesterday Ronan and Cordelia had a quarrel over the umbrella.

Ronan might have felt that Cordelia didn't value him enough, bought him a fake, so he made Cordelia

sleep in the next room.

This was a lot of information.

So, Cordelia used to sleep with Ronan, and Jordan didn't know how long it had been going on.

And, Ronan's words just now, were really hard to accept.

She was missing something of his...

He didn't expect that Ronan would make such a joke.

There were rumors among the company's colleagues that Ronan would pick up and drop off Cordelia

every day, but Jordan thought, how could Cordelia, with her status, get into Ronan's bed?

But it turned out it was true.

Ronan usually appeared very mature and steady, just standing there would make the temperature

drop, new employees would feel nervous around him.

He said some indecent things in front of Cordelia.

Cordelia even dared to sleep in front of him.

Thinking of his previous actions, Jordan felt somewhat ashamed, since he misunderstood their

argument and even set up obstacles for Cordelia.

"Hello Mr. Jordan." Cordelia turned back to her office, greeting Jordan.

Jordan nodded to Cordelia.

Cordelia found it strange. Jordan was usually very reserved, how come he nodded at her this time?
