The Contracted Ever After (Cordelia and Ronan)

Chapter 373

Chapter 373

Ten days later.

A scandalous photo of Ronan and Tabitha entangled in the sheets of a king-size bed made the

headlines. Belonging © NôvelDram/a.Org.

News of Cordelia's departure abroad had begun to circulate, and Ronan, once again the golden

bachelor of Millstone, was on everyone's radar and the object of their desires.

As a classic, tall, wealthy, and handsome man, a new love interest was nothing out of the ordinary.

The photo was a fabrication made by Samantha. She hired a couple of people from a local bar and had

them bare it all in a bed. She made them perform a number of eyebrow-raising poses like kissing and

caressing. Then Ronan and Tabitha's faces were masterfully photoshopped onto the bodies. The end

result was perfect.

At Ronan's office.

He was enjoying a smoke while looking at the photo, his pulse quickening.

"Ronan, have you seen this?" Emerson walked into the office, phone in hand.

"What's the rush?" Ronan squinted at Emerson, asking him.

"I can't not rush, Ronan. We all know what kind of person you are. It's clear this photo is a fake, right?"

Emerson was on pins and needles.

Cordelia had just left, and Ronan was in the prime of his life. It wouldn't be a complete shock if

something between Ronan and Tabitha had happened, but how on earth did someone get a photo?

"Oh, and what kind of person am I in your eyes?" Ronan, looking amused, asked Emerson.

"You're a gentleman with high standards and sophisticated tastes. You wouldn't look twice at anyone

less, right?" Emerson asked for confirmation.

Ronan simply smiled, not offering a response.

Just then, there was a knock at the door. "Come in," said Ronan.

The door creaked open, and in walked a shy, timid girl.

Her head was bowed low, there were tears in her eyes, and her hands were nervously fidgeting in front

of her. She had been crying and was still whimpering.

Emerson looked closely at the girl from the news, Tabitha. He recognized her as the girl they had

encountered whose car had broken down a few days before Callum's christening party.

Ronan watched her closely.

"Mr. Evans, I came to apologize for any inconvenience I've caused." Tabitha's eyes were downcast.

"It doesn't matter," Ronan said, leaning back in his chair. "You've been slandered. How much do you

want?"

Tabitha closed her mouth and shook her head.

"Do you want a man?" Ronan asked her bluntly.

Tabitha hurriedly looked up at Ronan.

Tabitha was the woman the man in the black suit had brought for Ronan. He told Tabitha that Ronan’s

ex-wife was delicate and shy and that she had to learn from her. The best outcome would be if Ronan

fell in love with her.

If Ronan loved her, she would become the rightful Mrs. Evans, a role that every woman in town would

kill for. Even if she couldn't make him love her, she needed to keep things shady with Ronan.

Now, she didn't know if Ronan loved her, but she knew she fell for him. A tall, rich, single man - who

wouldn't love him?

Moreover, after interacting with Ronan a few times, Tabitha found him to be very charismatic,

masculine, and gentlemanly. She was completely smitten with him.

"No, no, Mr. Evans. I don't deserve you! I came today to apologize. I'm a nobody. No one knows me. It

doesn't matter. But it's different for you," Tabitha said. "I apologize again."

"You don't want money or a man, so why are you in my office?" Ronan asked, hitting the nail on the

head.

Emerson had been silently observing this woman, and he didn't like her one bit. Emerson was a sharp

guy. He knew that the day they met her and today’s scandalous headline was all part of a bigger plan.

Perhaps she was the one who released the photo. Making a scandal involving her and Ronan, then

making Ronan succumb under the pressure of public opinion, seemed like her plan.

This girl was playing a high-stakes game.
