After clocking out from her own department, Brooklyn headed to Ronan's office. Ronan, who had just

arrived, was in his office, reviewing and signing papers. Upon seeing Brooklyn, Ronan said in a

nonchalant tone, "What's up?"

"Oh, Mr. Evans, I video-chatted with Cordelia this morning. She said she's now in the States, and

everything went smoothly," Brooklyn reported.

"Got it." Ronan continued to hold his pen, signing papers as if nothing else mattered.

Brooklyn hesitated, licking her lips. "Cordelia mentioned that she sent you a message on Messenger,

but you didn't reply. I assumed you might have missed it. Have you not marked Cordelia's messages as

a priority, Mr. Evans?"

Ronan lifted his gaze to look at Brooklyn. With just one look, Brooklyn wished she could crawl into a

hole. Ronan's message was clear. Was this any of her business?

"Goodbye, Mr. Evans!" Brooklyn swiftly said, closed the door to Ronan's office, and left.

Samantha received the pearl necklace in the mail today. The sender was anonymous; she had no idea

who it was. The necklace, filled with full, gleaming pearls, was clearly valuable, much like the pearls

from Tahiti. Samantha feared it was from Deanna, worried about another phosphorus fire incident.

Moreover, a necklace was worn around the neck; if it contained other substances, it would be far from

amusing.

Ever since Samantha stepped into the world of showbiz, she was familiar with the cunning tricks played

by women in ancient court dramas. For example, the queen gave a concubine an infertility necklace to

prevent her from becoming pregnant. Samantha knew these plots like the back of her hand. So,

Samantha took the necklace to a professional appraisal institution. The appraisal confirmed that there

The film, produced by Kent's production company, was a suspense movie. Samantha was auditioning

for the secondary antagonist role. However, the casting director told her she wasn't impressive and that

she had no substantial possessions, no formal training, and no noteworthy work.

Samantha was quite dejected. Just as she was about to leave, Marian entered the set. She was off that

day and had come to the set to hang out.

The necklace around Samantha's neck caught her eye. Marian quickly went to the casting director,

picking up the resume of the girl who had just left.
