Though Lumos Enterprises was off-limits to everyone, Edwin and Brooklyn were exceptions. Brooklyn

was a good friend of Cordelia, who had just given birth.

As Cordelia was about to be discharged, Edwin and Brooklyn visited her in the hospital.

Seeing Cordelia's blanket not properly covering her, Edwin carefully tucked her in, saying, "You just

After Edwin and Brooklyn left, another unexpected visitor came.

It took Cordelia a while to recognize her. It was her former colleague, Marian, who had once deeply

hurt her.

When Cordelia was working at First Enterprises, she only saw Marian once during the company's

annual gala. She mainly heard her talking in the restroom, which left a bad taste in Cordelia's mouth.

Back then, everyone used to dress up. Compared to the make-up-free beauty before her now, it was

"Cordelia, don't you recognize me?" Marian looked at Cordelia somewhat familiarly.

"Marian?"

Cordelia couldn't believe that Marian had come to see her.

Marian glanced at Ronan, who was sitting on a nearby couch.

Marian's visit was as clear as a mirror to Ronan.

"Cordelia, long time no see. You've given birth, your baby is so adorable." Marian's tone was much less

arrogant than before.

Cordelia just gave a bitter smile.

"I brought you a gift set to celebrate being a new mom. There's a lot of stuff in it. Clothes for the

newborn, skincare for you, back supports, and all sorts of things you can think of and can't think of,"

Marian said.

Cordelia looked at Marian suspiciously. She felt that she had to be careful about accepting anything

from Marian.

Seeing Cordelia's expression, Marian looked a bit wronged.

"I'll just tell you straight, I had my dad change the company name to Tang, and we haven't had a single

order since..." She glanced at the nonchalant Ronan again.

Cordelia also gave him a few glances.

"Yes. I was just out of grad school and didn't know how the world worked. I was stubborn and did a lot

of things that I shouldn't have. But that's in the past now. Cordelia, can you forgive me?" Marian

grabbed Cordelia's hand.

Cordelia glanced at Ronan.

Ronan was absentmindedly flipping through a magazine.

Why Marian came to see Cordelia, only Cordelia knew. It must have been because Ronan had blocked

all of her projects, giving her a hard hit. Now, she was smarter and came to see Cordelia, which was

actually her way of pleading with Ronan.

"Okay," Cordelia said.

"Shall we high-five?" Marian suggested like a child. "And I'm not like Samantha, I won't scheme against

you. You can use this newborn gift set with ease. Now that I've taken this step and I've let go of the

past, let's not hold grudges against each other, okay?"

Cordelia analyzed Marian's sincere expression. "Okay. Let's high-five."

After high-fiving three times, Cordelia said, "But it won't be much use coming to me, Jamie is one of the

top accountants at Millstone, you should connect with him more. It's always cooler under a big tree."

"It's easier said than done. We haven't talked in a long time because of you." Marian added, "I was so

reckless back then, I didn't know any better. Can you play mediator and help mend things?"

"My words don't carry much weight, I'm afraid I won't be able to persuade him. But I'll give it a try."

Cordelia said this for Ronan to hear, so she glanced at him.

She was afraid Ronan wouldn't let her contact Jamie.

"Deal. Now, you rest and take care of yourself during this postpartum period, I'll leave now." After

saying this, Marian left.

In the room, only Cordelia was left with Ronan, and their baby in the crib.

"You understand what I mean, right?" Cordelia asked Ronan.

After Cordelia asked, Ronan replied, "Hmm, what do you mean?"

"Are you playing dumb on purpose?" Cordelia was exasperated.

Ronan lowered his head. "God arranges people's fate, not you."

He left Cordelia speechless.

Cordelia noticed how attractive Marian was. She also seemed like a passionate person. Cordelia

thought about setting her up with Jamie so that Ronan would stop misunderstanding her relationship

with Jamie. If Jamie had a lover, he wouldn't think of Cordelia anymore.

But after what Ronan said, Cordelia suddenly felt like an old-fashioned matchmaker, especially the

shameless kind.

She pulled the blanket over her head, no longer wanting to deal with Ronan.
