Anya did not understand their reaction. She and Daniel were like oil been so. They did not forget to always threaten her with divorce a something they did not agree with. Why were they behaving as though she had said something she shouldn’t? This text is property of Nô/velD/rama.Org.

“Thank you,” Anya thanked Mr. Shaw and followed the staff out. Daniel could no longer hold his anger as he hurried after her.

Anya, let’s talk.” he said through his teeth. He could not honestly say why he was angry.

“No, now, I don’t have time,” she ignored him.

“You can’t be the one to announce the divorce, especially when you had not discussed it with me first,” he said and she paused and looked back at him in confusion.

“What does that mean?” she asked.

“You and I both know how we got married. You did the deciding. When it comes to the divorce, I will be the one to decide everything about it,” he said heatedly. He did not understand why he was getting angry. He did not understand even more, why she was doing this.

“Have you lost

mind?” she asked. She was about to say more, when the staff uncomfortably asked her what to do.

“Let’s keep going.” She did not have time to worry about Daniel at the moment. Seeing her dismissive state Daniel was close to losing his mind. What happened to her? He was sure she was fine when they had left the mansion. He was completely unsure of how to handle her and it was completely driving him crazy. When he saw her walking away without care, he felt the urge to throw something.

Anya followed the staff into Mr. Shaw’s cabin.

She easily spotted her gift. It was a medium sized blue box. When she saw it, she smiled coldly, before turning to the staff.

“Please help me carry it to my room,” she asked the staff and he went ahead and picked it up with a slight effort. She knew it was heavy, that is why she did not want to pick it herself. While he did that, she made her way throughout the ship, looking around every corner.

She could already guess that Lena had messed with the contents of the gift box and was wondering where she could hide it. She took back this gift, not only because of the divorce, but because she was sure that if the government found whatever Lena had hid inside the box and it in some way incriminated Michael Shaw, she would be blamed, since her mother had been

this family well, if they think she tried to frame them, she would not be able to keep her life.

Unknown to her, Daniel was still following and her odd actions were being monitored by

Daniel.

She made her way to one of the decks where she could see the wa I looked down. She had considered just throwing the gift box into the sea. But, when she looked down at the water below, she suddenly felt dizzy. It was as though the water wanted to drag her to the bottom. An odd image flashed in her mind of her laying at the bottom of the sea in utter darkness. Fear overwhelmed her, weakening her legs, making it hard for her to stand. Someone caught her before she even touched the ground. She looked up to find it was Daniel.

“Why are you out here, Anya?” he asked, “It seems you are seasick, let us go back inside.”

He picked her up very easily and brought her inside a room to sit down. It took Anya a while. before she could breathe again.

“I never knew you usually got sea sick,” he said, passing her a bottle of water.

“We don’t know anything about each other,” she commented. Anya was a bit resentful. He was the reason she now had a fear for the ocean, when his enemies abducted her, yet his men let her get thrown into the water and shot her. When she recalled this, she felt anger.

“Why were you out there?” he asked.

“I wanted to go for a swim,” she answered dismissively, standing up to leave the room. But before she could take a few steps, he grabbed her arm.

“Anya, what is going on? You just woke up this morning and started…” he trailed off.

“Stop caring about you and your family?” she asked and he looked away, making her scoff.

“You and I could be considered an ill match. You have wanted this divorce for a while, aren’t you just bothered that I am the one who brought it up? You are just bothered that it seemed to come out of nowhere and you feel like you are losing control,” she smirked at his reaction. He looked like he had eaten something sour.

“Can we do this, somewhere else?” he asked as he noticed the busy staff moving around them.

“No, we have nothing to talk about,” she snorted, attempting to rip her hands from his grasp, but he had completely lost his cool at this time.

Daniel held on and forcefully dragged her from the room. They walked for quite some time till they got to her cabin. He practically dragged her into the room and shut the door. He would have thought that his anger would have dissipated with the long walk back, but it had only gotten worse.

“Is it because of what happened this morning? Is it because I got you injured a while back?

Chapter 23 Abad of the uchan

What is it? What has come over you since this morning?” he asked.

“It is the day I married you. You ignore me, encouraging your family to either behave as though I do not exist or insult me. If I so much as want to move a thing in your home, your staff will say, have you asked Mr. Shaw? If I tell them to move this, they ignore me. Your

parents ignored what they did and I felt so uncomfortable, I moved out.” she scoffed as she talked. She thought her situation was utterly pathetic.

“You should have known since…” Daniel’s anger flared.

“…I decided to marry you,” Anya repeated his words.

“Yes, I agree. That is why I have learned my place. What was there to say? You obviously wanted to isolate me, and you succeeded. Don’t think too deeply into this. We are not compatible,” Anya scoffed.

“You think this is about control? If anything, you are the one that has been doing whatever you wanted in this marriage!” Daniel found that he was completely triggered by these words. He could not put his finger on why.

“So you just woke up this morning and realized this? Why did you wait this long?” he said through his teeth. “The divorce aside, you have been acting odd all morning, is this truly why?” he asked. His question made her still.

Anya had always known that for what she would need to do that night, someone apart from her had to know about it. Anya had always known she would have to tell him about what was happening. She just did not know how to approach the topic without burning herself.

The gentle hum of the ship’s engine filled the air, creating a soothing background noise as Anya sat at the small table in her cabin, a look of concern on her face. Daniel stood frozen waiting for her response.

Anya’s phone rang, breaking the tense atmosphere. She picked it up and glanced at the caller ID before answering. “Hey, Mary, what’s up?” she greeted, trying to sound casual.
