The Billionaire’s Maid Bride

Chapter 296

Chapter 296

Penelope’s foot was all healed up. She had Charlie arrange for her to return to the set, but she found that a lot of the scenes she was supposed to be in didn’t match up.

The assistant director answered with a smile, “Ms. Flanagan, you should still take it easy with your foot. We don’t want to put too much on your plate, we need to make sure we wrap up the whole show by next month. If you’re up for it, we need to shoot all night tonight.”

Before Penelope can respond, Charlie chimed in, “Our contract doesn’t mention shooting regular scenes late into the night. We should’ve talked about this beforehand.”

The assistant director seemed a bit troubled, “Ms. Flanagan, you took a two-week break without letting us know in advance, we need to catch up.”

He turned to Charlie, ‘Charlie, don’t get mad at me. You can take it up with the producer or Gavin. I’m just here to give you the heads-up. Of course, you can choose not to shoot, and then we’ll make the necessary cuts.” Content © copyrighted by NôvelDrama.Org.

Penelope bit her lip, “Alright, I got it.”

Charlie wanted to say something, but Penelope waved him off, “It’s fine, I can shoot until about midnight tonight.”

Charlie said, “Penelope, you need to rest now.”

The assistant director shook his head as he walked away, “They’re treating the set like a vacation spot”

What was the use of being born with a silver spoon in your mouth? Once the show was aired, the audience may not like it

In the editing room, Gavin was watching the screen. The footage shot these past few days had been roughly edited, and he nodded in satisfaction.

Sitting next to him, the editor Monica commented, “This actress is doing a great job, she’s got potential. Her scenes with Aaron are natural, and she brings a touch of humanity to her evil character.

Gavin lit up a cigarette, “She’s Penelope’s stand-in.”

Monica looked at the cigarette case Gavin had set aside and she lit one up as well.

She took a puff, then squinted, “You still like this brand…it’s too strong.”

Despite saying this, Monica took another drag. “Of course I can tell, this girl’s eyes are different from Penelope’s. Hers are like a clear lake, beautifully innocent. Even though they look alike, I can tell the difference. With such an exceptional stand-in, Penelope looks rather ordinary”

Gavin tapped his cigarette, reminding, “Be careful when you guys edit the final cut. Don’t let any obvious close-ups slip through.”

“Got it. We wouldn’t dare slack off while working for Epic Entertainment.”

Gavin and Monica were old partners, so he laughed at her comment, “Thank you. I’ll treat you to dinner when we finish shooting. We’ve got one more month. Let’s all work hard.”

“I know, Gavin, you don’t have to remind me.”

“Gavin, where did you find such a perfect stand-in? She’s so much like Penelope it’s uncanny. If I wasn’t in front of the camera every day, I wouldn’t be able to tell.”

“She was found by Penelope herself.

Gavin stayed in the editing room, Monica’s delicate fingers rested on his shoulder, their bodies moving closer.

On the couch, their bodies pressed closely together. Monica leaned on Gavin’s shoulder, “Gavin, how long have we known each other?”

“We’ve known each other since college…

“That long already…”

“Yes, it’s been a long time.”
