The Billionaire’s Maid Bride

Chapter 272

Chapter 272

“Allie, are you tight with Dr. Dylan?” Grace asked. Belonging to NôvelDrama.Org.

“Sort of.” Grace didn’t have a clue about her history with Dr. Dylan. As she accompanied Grace into the elevator, she said, “I used to come here a lot, so I’m pretty chummy with the medical staff”

“Allie, when are you gonna bring a boyfriend home? Mom can give him the once–over.” Grace said.

“No rush” Allison, playfully clinging to Grace’s arm, said, I’m only 21. No need to hurry.”

“No need to hurry? You’ll be 22 when you graduate. Working a few years, you’ll need to think about having babies.” Grace said.

Allison sidestepped the topic. She took Grace for a series of tests. The results wouldn’t be ready until the afternoon.

She first took Grace to the Blue Mountain Estate. Looking around, Grace asked, “Allie, how come you moved here? This place must cost a pretty penny”

“Mom, I didn’t want to live in that tiny house behind the Flanagans anymore.” Allison furrowed her brows slightly. “The lighting there was awful.”

“I’m sorry I made you put up with that, it’s my fault Grace sighed, seemingly blaming herself, repeating, “It’s my fault.”

Allison quickly hugged Grace, “Mom, you’re the best, I love you the most.”

Grace’s face was a mix of regret and guilt. This kind–hearted girl shouldn’t have had to go through so much hardship.

But! They all owed her!

In that instant, Grace’s face turned cold. If Allison saw it, she would be shocked because this was the first time she had seen such a cold expression on the normally gentle Grace.

Unfortunately, Allison’s face was buried in Grace’s shoulder, so she didn’t see.

In the afternoon, after settling Grace down, Allison went to the hospital to get the test results. Seeing the numbers, she breathed a sigh of relief. Her creatinine levels were a bit unstable, but much better than before. She went to the clinic, Dr. Dylan glanced at the report and gave her some advice, “Keep taking the anti–rejection meds daily. Everything else looks good. Just keep up with regular check–ups.”

Allison said, “Thank you, Dr. Dylan.”

Dr. Dylan responded seriously, “You don’t have to be so formal.”

Just then, Dr. Dylan’s phone on the desk rang.

The screen displayed “Jade.”

Allison gave a slight smile, “Dr. Dylan, I won’t interrupt you” She turned and left.

Dr. Dylan frowned slightly, picked up the call, “Hey, Jade, I’m with a patient. Can’t talk now.”

Jade on the other end was insistent, “Did you see Allison?”

Dr. Dylan was clearly annoyed, “Allison’s mother is my patient. What’s wrong with me seeing her?”

He didn’t ask how Jade knew; it was pointless.

Jade snapped back, “You can’t let her go, can you? You still have feelings for her! Dylan, I’ve done so much for you. Aren’t you the least bit grateful?”

Faced with Jade’s irrational behavior, Dr. Dylan sighed, “Jade, I’m really busy. There are patients who need me. I have to hang up now.”

Fuming, Jade stomped her foot. She was the daughter of the deputy director and had always been a high achiever. Lots of guys chased her. This had never happened before!

But she was smitten with Dr. Dylan.

She called a nurse in the nephrology department, “Keep an eye on Dr. Dylan for me. Let me know if Allison meets up with him again.” a
