The Billionaire’s Maid Bride (Flanagan and Allison)

Chapter 411

Chapter 411

Allison carried two shopping bags and arrived at the villa’s doorstep, knocking on the door

After a moment, there was some sound from inside, but not the sound of a man’s footsteps. The villa

door swung open, and out trotted a large, white dog, its tail wagging furiously at the sight of Allison.

Bending down to pat the dog on the head, Allison stepped inside the villa and glanced around the

empty living room, “Where’s your owner? He hasn’t come back yet?”

The dog grabbed onto the hem of her pants, tugging her towards the stairs. Allison set down her

shopping bags, “I need to hit the kitchen first. I’ve got ribs.”

But the big dog was a force to be reckoned with, and Allison stumbled slightly as she was dragged

along, deciding to just go with the flow and follow the dog upstairs.

“Is your owner home?”

Allison went upstairs, following the dog, and arrived at the study’s door. She knocked on the door, but

there was no response from inside.

She looked at the dog, its tail wagging like crazy, seemingly waiting for her to open the door.

Allison opened the door, and the dog bolted inside before her. Allison stood in the doorway, taking in

the empty study. Lucian was still not back. She had thought the dog brought her upstairs because

Lucian was in the study.

She’d only been here a few times, and she didn’t really know much about the man’s study. But as

usual, the study was done in Lucian’s style – light grey window shades, black and white and grey

decor, black leather couch, towering spiral staircase bookshelf.

Allison stepped inside. The dog had found a fuzzy ball toy by the coffee table and Allison chuckled,

“Well, you just wanted your toy. I thought Lucian sent you to get me here.*

The dog brought the ball over to Allison and she threw it across the room, “Go play. NôvelDrama.Org owns all content.

She took a look around the study, her eyes falling on some documents on the coffee table. She wasn’t

planning to snoop.

Just as she was about to leave, a gust of cold wind rustled the window shades, flipping the documents

off the coffee table and onto the carpet. She bent down to pick them up, only to find that they were

about the charity dinner incident investigation,

She flipped through the pages, which seemed to be a report from an investigation agency. The

chandelier had been tampered with beforehand, causing it to crash down when Penelope and Miranda

were passing by.

This hotel was no ordinary venue. It had a comprehensive surveillance system and stringent security

measures. The most likely culprit who could have tampered with things in this hotel would be someone

from the Lindberg family.

She finished reading the investigation details. Although no one was directly implicated, Allison felt like

she already knew who it was. She put the documents back in order, retumed them to their original spot

and left the study.

Back downstairs, the dog had run off to play on the lawn.

Allison opened the fridge, finding it completely empty. She wondered if this man ever cooked at home.

She took the ribs and some vegetables from the fridge, and began to prepare dinner.

Her phone suddenly vibrated.

She glanced at the screen – it was a call from Daisy.

Daisy had been stressing about the Boswell family’s situation lately. Allison, in the middle of washing

veggies, dried her hands and answered on speaker “Daisy.”

Daisy said, “Did you catch the news? They’re saying Penelope miscarried and passed out from saving

Miranda. Wasn’t she almost 9 months pregnant and about to give birth?”

Allison nodded, “Yeah, I already heard about that.”

Daisy asked, “Where are you, Allie? Are you still at work?”

Allison responded, “No, I’m at a colleague’s house, making dinner.”

Daisy continued, “She was 9 months pregnant, and she is so desperate to marry into the Lindberg

family. Why would she risk her unborn child like that? Don’t you think she might have done it on

purpose?*

Allison was taken aback. She was in the middle of chopping vegetables when she accidentally cut her

finger. “Daisy, what did you just say?”

Daisy said, “I was just thinking out loud. She cares so much about her child, why would she risk herself

to save Miranda? They’re not even close. Plus, we all know what Penelope is like – she’s far from

being a saint.”
