Chapter 54.
Angel POV.
With that revelation, I think it is safe to say everyone is now well and truly fucked off. As much as I would like to think that Danny wouldn't do this, he has proven me wrong. What happened to him to want to do this?
"This has something to do with what happened." I mumble, more to myself than anyone else. Ryder moves and hugs me from behind. I place my hand on his forearm as he leans his chin on top of my head. "Explain princess." He says and I look up and stare at my dad and Hatchet. I think they have the same idea I do.
"You said this MC the Hell Raiders in the west are fairly new. Are they one percenters? How new are they? Also, I know this is a stupid question, but I'm going to ask it anyway. Where background checks done on these newer members?" I say in one breath and my dad smirks at me. He nods his head slightly, giving me I think you're on to something look.
Murmurs ring out in the room as I wait for someone to speak. Ice clears his throat and I turn my head to look at him and he is rubbing the back of his neck. Well, I think that just answered my last question.
"We did do checks on the newer members and they checked out. But..."
"Buuuttt? Go on." I say, rolling my hand for him to continue. Waiting impatiently for him to speak.
"There was an issue with one of them, so he wasn't patched in. The rest are ex-military. Wanting to give the finger to the man as it were." I look at him and look back at Hatchet.
"What is the name of the new prez?" I ask, and he looks from me to Ice and I raise an eyebrow. Well, I think I know who it is. The man that was denied. It doesn't take a genius to connect the dots on this one.
"I would bet my entire estate and the DeNucci family that the one who was denied is the new prez of this club in the west. I would also bet that he has or had connections with the sister MC, the Vipers, and that would mean Foxy Barnes as well. So go on, tell me I'm wrong." I smirk as I look at Hatchet and he furrows his eyebrows as he thinks long and hard.
"Ice, pull up his file." He says and I look at Ryder and wink at him and he is looking at me with pride in his eyes.
"Did I tell you how brilliant you are?" I chuckle.
"Nope, but keep it coming." I say as he kisses me.
"Get a fucking room. I don't need to see this. You are violating my eyes." Nico says and I look at him and he gulps.
"Oh really. Should I mention the time I walked in on you..." he is out of his chair fast, his hand over my mouth. The members chuckle as he goes red.
"You promised." He hisses and I smirk behind his hand. I mean, come on, what kind of big sister would I be if I didn't tease my little, not so innocent, brother?
"I need to hear this. Was it by any chance a certain pink haired assassin?" Ryder says, and I push Nico's hand away in shock. What??
"Nooooo way! You didn't? Jesus Christ, Nico, you slept with CANDY!" I shriek as my mouth hangs open when Nico punches Ryder in the arm.
"Asshole, you said you wouldn't open your damn mouth! Angel wasn't referring to that. She was referring to the time she caught me having phone sex in the family room." He roars and his eyes widen as he turns with a gulp, looking at our dad. "Don't worry, son, we've all been there." Nico is bright red with embarrassment and the men in the room all nod in agreement.
"But, Candy? Sweet little Candy! Oh man, I need to hear this. Wait, ewww, no I don't." I shudder, realising what I have just said. That is gross and wrong. I don't need to know about the sexual exploits of my brothers, thank you very much.
"Ok, kids settle down. Yes, your brothers are both horny dogs. Leave them alone, Angel. Besides, we have bigger issues than who your brothers have been sleeping with." Easy for him to say. Dad used to be the biggest horn dog out there back in his younger days. "Anyway! His name is Dane Weston. He didn't check out. Even though we are one percenters and we are not clean, ourselves, there are things that even we won't do." Hatchet says and I look at him and he looks at me. I think I know where this is going. "Human Trafficking? Rape?" I say and he nods his head. Motherfucker! We need to speak to Alessa when we get there. She will be pissed to know that is happening within her territory. How she doesn't already know is a shocker.
"We need to go now. Alessa needs to know about this. It is happening in her territory. But how does Danny and the others fit into all this?" I ask, looking around the room.
"The others were in his unit. They all served together. Dane was to be placed before JAG for war crimes, rape, murder, just to name a few. He escaped and is wanted. Danny, however, no idea. He hasn't been himself since the whole barn incident." Blaze says and I look at my dad and I feel the colour drain from my face.
"What is it, principessa?" he asks, and I gulp.
"We need to go, now!" I say as I turn and stalk out of the room. My momma gives me a look. She is sitting with Deanna, Rebel, and the other ole ladies.
"Angel? What's going on?" she asks as she looks at me with worry.
"I need you to stay here with Rebel. Momma, please. I also need Alessa's number." I say and she looks at me then smirks and tosses her phone towards me and I catch it in midair. I open the screen and find the call log and dial her number.
"Alessa. I need y'all to head to the Hell Raiders clubhouse or near there. I'm coming to you." I say to her and she chuckles down the line.
"Angel, I will meet you at the diner
just off the exit. Tell me sweetie, what's going on?" she asks and I look at momma and she nods at me. Then I remember I don't have a damn@ehicle, as Nate has the keys and know they don't want me going on this one, but tough shit. Deanna throws keys at me and I smile, nodding at her.
"One sec." I say into the phone as I look at Rebel and walk to her, giving her a kiss.
"You be a good girl, ok. I will be back soon." I say to her just as the others pile out of the conference room. This is from NôvelDrama.Org.
"Ok, mommy. I love you. Be safe." She says, and I kiss her again as I turn and walk towards the clubhouse doors.
"Angel, the black Kawasaki Ninja H2, with the pink trim." Deanna shouts and I leave the clubhouse.
"Sorry about that, Alessa. I will be there shortly. I am bringing the cavalry with me. The Hell Raiders are human traffickers. As you know, they have my family's product and guns. They are connected to ..."
"The Vipers, the sister MC and one
Foxy Barnes. Yeah, I know. I have just received the information. Joanna has.just handed me the file. I have also just read all about Dane. How soon can you get here?" I walk towards the motorcycle and grab the black helmet, putting it on as I straddle the bike. The bike is beautiful. A proper racing bike. All shiny black with the pink trim.
"I'm on my way." I say before hanging up. I pocket the phone and turn the bike on. It roars to life and then purrs like a kitten. The feeling of such a powerful machine as it rumbles beneath me, I smirk, knowing this will be the best ride of my life. "Angel! Where are you going?" Ryder shouts as he runs towards me. He nearly trips down the steps. I rev the throttle.
"To see Alessa. Catch me if you can." I say chuckling as I wheel spin the back wheel, gravel, and dust flying behind me as I take off like a rocket. I ride down the driveway, hearing the rumble of bikes behind me. The gate is opening and I nod at the prospect and ride out onto the open road.
I need to get to Alessa before the rest of them so we can go and stake out the territory. I wouldn't be surprised if she already had someone on the inside. I lean further down on the bike and pick up speed.
I miss riding. I always used to ride. I had different vehicles growing up. From luxury car models to the best motorcycles. Hell, I even had horses. But the motorbike was by far my favourite.
Feeling the wind in my hair and the feeling of flying at speed. It was freeing. Right now, I'm embracing that feeling. I dodge and weave through traffic as I make my way to Alessa.
Hearing the roar of bikes not too far behind me, I glance behind me before I turn my focus back to the road. I rev the throttle and pop a wheelie as I land back down; I dodge again. I see the exit.
I reach the exit; I know the MC is somewhere behind me, and that's ok. They will be pissed that I am here, but they can suck it. This is not only their business, but it is my family's.
I reach the diner at the exit and pull up round back next to the most exquisite bike I have ever seen. A Ducati Panigale V4. In all black with splashes of red. I shut the bike off and remove the helmet as I swing my leg around to climb off. I carry the helmet against my hip as I walk into the back of the diner.
I look around and see her. Alessa Valentino-Petrov.
"Well, well, Angel Moretti. It is so
good to see you again. Please come, sit." She says as she stands. Her mismatched eyes shining, watching me. One black with a sliver of blue around the enlarged pupil, the other green. Her long, dark hair was in a ponytail. She is wearing black leathers and high-heeled boots, with little silver chains on them.
I walk towards her and look around the diner and see her girls all smiling at me as they lean lazily in their booths and I smile and wave at them. Lame Angel, real lame.
She engulfs me in a hug, and I hug her back.
"It's been a while. How are you doing? How is our little Rebel?" she asks and I smile at her as I sit down opposite her, placing the helmet next to me.
"I'm doing better than I was. Thank you, by the way, for everything you and your girls did for me and Rebel. She is growing more beautiful as each day passes. I'm afraid I need your help once more." I say to her and she watches me. Before, she looks behind me and nods
once.
"Of course, now tell me everything." And so I do. I hope she has an idea of what we need to do and how we can do this without causing more trouble. But if I know anything about Alessa Valentino-Petrov. Trouble is, her middle name. She is the leader of the Mother's Revenge and the Cosa Nostra, after all.
