The Alpha’s Surrogate Mate

Chapter 4: Appealing Alpha

With great expertise, he kissed her while his hands moved on her ass lightly. From NôvelDrama.Org.

Bonnie surrendered immediately, feeling adrenaline grow up in her again. She suddenly wanted more but Xavier pulled back quickly and spat away.

Bonnie looked up just in time to see a retreating body. Someone came in on them the other time and Xavier had to fake a kiss.

Xavier watched her for a while, “You will ride back now!” He said and helped her up on the horse.

He didn’t try to sit, so Bonnie looked at him urgently, “Are you not coming?”

The glare he gave her was enough to last her for a lifetime. She turned the horse over slowly. Her father taught her how to ride and she knew it so well.

“Howl if you realize you are missing the way,” he told her and watched her ride away slowly.

Xavier ran back to the wood, to Brook cottage. He walked inside the detached house. They had destroyed part of it days back.

And he seemed so sure of the fact that Brook took Gwen.

Brook and Xavier had never been on a talking term but he had never thought he could hurt him in that way.

Well, more reason why he would do so. Xavier wouldn’t be able to suspect him. Well, his plan failed.

He only needed to find Gwen, then he would kill him, his wife, and his daughter.

Xavier looked around him for a moment before he started unturning everything in the room. There should be something that would give Brook out, something that would give him the clue of what he was looking for.

After an hour of searching, Xavier had to retreat to his mansion. The thought that he couldn’t lay his hands on anything made him angry and frustrated.

Xavier had never seemed so frustrated in all his life. He got whatever he laid his hands on and that had been happening for so long until three days ago.

A knock and Wesley walked in hurriedly, “Xavier, we’ve received a new report. Alpha Rowan will arrive earlier than Gwen’s parents.”

Xavier gathered the wrinkles on his forehead, “Why will Rowan wants that?”

“I discover we have spies. Parker saw a shadow leave the mansion, but he lost the person.”

Xavier’s eyes sparked as realization suddenly dawns on him, ” Are you saying Rowan knows we don’t have the real Gwen?”

Wesley noded slowly, “I believe so sir. And that he’s coming here to inspect that himself. Rowan is closer to Gwen. If anyone doesn’t know her, Rowan would.”

Sweats broke out of Xavier’s forehead again. The frustration he had felt earlier mingled with anxiousness. They all cuddled up in him in some sort of crazy confusion.

Xavier stepped down from his throne, “I need to rest,” he held a hand across his forehead tiredly.

Wesley watched him, “Should I call in a mistress?”

Xavier looked at Wesley and thought about it quickly. He shook his head negatively, “I need to be with Gwen,” he dragged his legs towards the door.

Wesley rushed to him, ” She’s not Gwen. She’s Bonnie,” he reminded bitterly.

“Yes! But she looks like my mate!” The deep voice made him pass his frustrating moment. He closed his eyes and tried to stay calm.

He opened his eyes again, “I have to see her as Gwen. And you should quit calling her Bonnie if you want to annihilate any suspicious rumors,” he finished and walked out before Wesley would say more.

If Rowan finds out who Bonnie was, it would smell trouble for him.

Fuck! He wasn’t concerned about the war in a bit. He was concerned about the aftermath of his feelings.

How could he bear to kill Gwen’s family? The thing would haunt him as long as he lived.

And what would happen to Gwen’s parents because they only had her.

And he loved her.

These are the reasons why he couldn’t stop feeling so miserable.

He walked to Bonnie’s door and knocked lightly. He waited for some minutes before he forced the door open.

He was not supposed to do that. Gwen and he have been married for more than two weeks. Aside from that, they’ve been lovers for years.

Xavier could enter whenever he likes but since this was Bonnie, he felt he should give her some space.

He walked in and shuts the door. He locked the door and advanced towards the bed.

Bonnie sat on the bed, staring at the dinner tray before her. She didn’t even touch any of the food on the tray.

Xavier walked to the window and pulled down the curtains, “What are you doing?”

Bonnie looked up at him slowly, ” Nothing.”

Xavier sighed and pulled a chair close to the bed. He sat on it, facing her, ” You are not eating.”

Bonnie looked down at the food again, uninterested, “I’m just not hungry.”

Xavier frowned, “You wouldn’t want to disappoint me by refusing to eat and looking as though I’ve been treating you bad. Rowan might see through you this way.”

Bonnie sighed and picked up a loaf of bread. She chewed some and drank water forcefully. One can notice the misery on her face, the dread, the sadness.

It reminded Xavier of Gwen, so much. He wondered how they could look so much alike. Even their expression seemed similar.

Xavier sighed, “It’s ok, you don’t need to force yourself to eat. You deceived me once, I’m sure you will be able to deceive Rowan,” he got up and removed the tray. He dropped it on the table by the bedside and climbed on the bed, besides Bonnie.

Bonnie went stiff but she didn’t leave her position. She sat and stared out into nothingness.

Xavier watched her backside for a while, “You can choose to do whatever you like but you must sleep on the bed beside me. We must quench the rumors circulating that you aren’t my Gwen,” he said and Bonnie felt a lump form in her throat.

How would it have been if Bonnie was his?

Bonnie laid back on the bed and turned towards him. Xavier was fast asleep already, his brow were still gathered as if he was quarreling with someone even in his sleep.

He wasn’t a male model but he should have been. Or maybe he was. Handsome was an understatement, he was more than that. His chiseled face was something she doesn’t get to see everytime. His jawline was hard and looked more masculine. There was a serious concentration on his face. His brows looked well filled and perfect.

He looked like a master piece.

Bonnie had always heard that his best feature was his broad shoulders, though that was covered under the t-shirt he wore currently.

His derring-do attitude and bass voice were a huge portion of his enterprising personality. He always wore neat clothes and his spicy aroma was appealing. Bonnie loved the way he smelt.

Bonnie had a sudden urge to touch his face, the contour of his face or the chest that was ascending and descending so cool.

She wouldn’t stop thinking about the kiss. It had added to the trouble at hand.

She traced her eyes, to his small but sexy lips.

Xavier tasted like wine, a mixture of sweet favor. Bonnie wanted to taste it again.

Xavier was asleep already, he wouldn’t know if someone kissed him.

Bonnie moved her lips closer to his mouth but a hand held her suddenly, stopping her and Xavier’s eyes went wide open.

They were close, so close just like the other time. Bonnie’s heart hammered so wildly in her chest as she stared with eyes gone wide and dark with shock.

Xavier suddenly wrapped his hands around her waist and turned her around so that he was on top of her, his face so close to hers.

Bonnie felt her heart would burst out any moment from that time.
