The Alpha’s Surrogate Mate

Xavier watched Bonnie fall asleep and he couldn’t stop comparing her with Gwen. He wondered how they could look so much alike.

His fingers were tracing the fine line of her chest, towards her full round breast. Xavier felt heat arise in him.

He could smell her so well and her heat was drawing her to him. But aside from that, something else was happening.

Her touch ignited a fire in him, making him want to do more with her.

He knew and remembered clearly that he had never felt such a way with Gwen.

Yes, the mate bond was there, but it was not as electrifying and strong as the one Bonnie was making him pass through.

After the first sex, Xavier found himself worrying for her. Which shouldn’t happen.

He withdrew his hand and got up. He took his trousers, wearing them in a hurry as if he couldn’t wait any more minutes in the room.

Despite her scent crawling into his nose, Xavier forced himself out of the room and wore his t-shirt on his way to the meeting room. He needed to discuss how they were going to find Gwen.

Damn, he hated the fact that everything was getting so hard for him. And the more he waited, the harder it got.

Wesley was waiting for him in front of the door. He walked past him inside the room.

He let Wesley lock the door before he burst out, “Something is happening to me!”

Wesley blinked once, ” What is it? ”

Xavier opened his mouth to say something. He didn’t even know where to start but he could start from anywhere, anyways.

But the word felt harder. It doesn’t even make any sense to his ears. And the fact that Bonnie had lied about her mate was driving him crazy.

If she had a mate, she wouldn’t have been so tight. Damn, she went through pain before he could fit into her.

“Did something happen? Has Bonnie confessed?”

Xavier sighed and turned away, “If Brook isn’t saying anything, do you think they might be telling the truth about their innocence? I mean he knew I would come for him, why then would he risk it? ”

“Because he knew you would think like this and finally let him off the hook. Aside from that, I have evidence that someone met with Brook a night before Gwen went missing. The person must have informed him that Gwen was taking the route. ”

Xavier nodded briefly. His explanation was feasible but the only thing he couldn’t wrap his mind about was why Bonnie went into heat and why he was feeling rather so helpless around her.

But he couldn’t tell Wesley, he didn’t even want to. He didn’t want to complicate matters.

He went to his chair instead, “Rowan will be leaving for the city after Bonnie’s heat. And she was going with him. I want some men and maids to follow her and inform me on whatever she does.”

” Yes, Alpha,” he bowed and took a step closer to him, ” What have you gotten concerning Gwen?”

Xavier regarded him for a while, ” Brook is being calm, even after hearing about his daughter’s death. I don’t know how else to make him confess.”

” Yes, he’s being stubborn. I’m also on a dead end. He doesn’t even want to say anything. He has been quiet.”

Xavier banged his hand on the table angrily. He remembered Gwen’s face as she said goodbye to him. He even kissed her.

If he knew it would be the last time, he wouldn’t have let her go. The pains were unbearable, eating him so deep into his soul.

And he knew he would never be able to forgive himself if anything happened to Gwen.

A soft knock jolted them out of their thoughts.

Wesley quickly moved to the door. He opened the door and stared at the maid for a moment, “What do you want?”

Wesley looked back at Xavier, ” One of Bonnie’s maids is here to speak with you. Should I let her in?”

Xavier’s heart made a thud at her name and the thought of something bad happening to her, “Let her in.”

Wesley opened the door wider for the maid to walk in.

Xavier stared at the familiar maid for a moment with raised brows, “What is it?”

The maid bowed, “I wanted to report something to you about my mistress.”

Wesley closed the door and moved closer to her, ” What is it?”

The maid looked up, ” My mistress met with her parents before the heat and let them know she was alive. I guess the reason why her father isn’t talking is because of this.”

Xavier felt his blood boil, his muscles hardened, ” Are you sure about this?”

” Very well sir.”

Xavier looked away for a moment, ” But how come you are telling me this,” he looked back at the maid, ” You seem so close to her now. And I don’t expect you to give away her secrets like that.”

” Well, I only have a master. I serve Luna Gwen and I will do anything to bring her back to her position.”

Xavier noted the look of loyalty in her eyes and he felt satisfied by it, ” Leave.”

“Yes but always tell us whenever you hear anything else or see anything else,” Wesley added for him.

” Yes sure,” the maid said before she moved to the door, with Wesley behind her.

Xavier had been thinking about the reason why Brook was so calm. So, it was because Bonnie had met with them behind his back.

He closed his eyes and inhaled slowly to calm down but it got worse. He felt very angry.

He knew that Brook was the one that kidnapped his mate. But he didn’t know why he kept denying the fact.

Wesley walked back to him, “What are you going to do?” He pulled Xavier out of his thoughts.

Xavier opened his eyes and looked at Wesley, “The first plan isn’t going to change. But I think I’m going to have to use plan b.”

Wesley studied him for a moment, ” Do you mean you are going to kill Brook?”

Xavier’s face formed a dark frown, “Not only him. Brook and his wife.”
