Chapter 102
Chapter 102
Alpha Nick was greatly embittered. Things would have been different if Charlotte had rejected him instead of disrespecting him.
He lived in constant fear that she was being tortured or something bad was happening to her. He knew she was alive because of the unbroken bond, and that was the same reason why he could not move on.
He could not help feeling guilty upon recalling that he had secretly even suspected Sheridan of being behind Charlotte’s disappearance due to how timely she showed up at his wedding.
Every time he saw her, he felt guilty that his mate was suffering somewhere, while another woman enjoyed the safety of his pack in the name of a Luna.
He feared how Charlotte would feel when found only to realize that he had moved on, even if it was just a NôvelDrama.Org owns this text.
contract.
Luckily, she made things easy by being understanding and only insisting that he divorces Sheridan. Alpha Nick felt utterly pained, stupid, and played.
“The summary of the story is the fact that my mate returned to steal my money so she could elope again,” Alpha Nick announced. Everyone was upset, their anger boiling but Alpha Seiko was mad, about to say something when Charlotte’s voice was heard.
“No. I came to stay. I just wanted to pay off Tom so you and I could be happy. I never meant to be with him again because I had fallen in love with you,” she confessed her plan in a teary voice with moist eyes, not having a care
for Tom’s feelings.
What mattered was for her to get Alpha Nick’s pity and send Sheridan and her seven brothers away. As for Goldie, she would find ways of dealing with her later.
Unfortunately, it was too late for anyone to believe her words. She had indeed fallen in love with Alpha Nick, but
who could she blame for her mishap?
Was it the fact that she fell in love too soon or because she could not tell it to Tom in the face for the fear that he
would tell on her and reveal their relationship to Alpha Nick?.
However, Tom felt betrayed to hear this. All along, he thought that Charlotte was in love with him, but it turns out she had fallen out of love, with him and was planning to discard him like the piece of shit he was along the
way.
“Really Charlotte, was that your plan?” Tom was heartbroken. “I accepted my mate’s rejection because of you.
Was that the reason you could not reject Alpha Nick even when he was treating you badly?”
Alpha Nick’s gaze was dark, but with Sheridan in his arms, he was slightly calm. This meeting was not to hear them declaring their love for each other but rather to prove who was wrong to have
fallen in love out of the mate bond.
“I have not finished yet. I will continue to tell you the last part of my love story,” Alpha Nick added as he turned to face Sheridan. Guilt settled in his eyes as he felt inferior to stand by her side and to even be opportune to hold
her.
“This woman beside me, I don’t deserve her, but she gave me a second chance. She never found her mate, but it’s too late for that. I want everyone here to know that if she finds a mate one day who is not me, I would still not let her go.”
His voice carried seriousness, and though knowing that he was being selfish, he could not bear to concern himself about it. For once, even his wolf agreed with him that the mate bond did not matter as long as they were in love with this woman.
“When I began to chase her back, she ran away, but I was happy to have met her again when I went to welcome my fellow Alphas at the airport yesterday. I decided to never let her go no matter what happens.”
He bit back the tears stinging the back of his eyes, stared lovingly at her, and declared, “even if she doesn’t love me anymore, my love would be enough for both of us.”
“Is that the reason why you failed to keep your promise?” Alpha Seiko shoved him with the elbow in excitement, interrupting the romantic moment.
He ruined it for Alpha Nick, as the latter was planning to steal a k*ss. “You should understand the storm one has to go through if he falls in love with a woman with seven older brothers.” Everyb*dy laughed at the statements as they stared at the seven intimidating men.
Alpha Nick recalled how they wanted to take Daisy away from him back then. The fact was, he feared Sheridan would not return to him and was using Daisy as a tool to bring her close to him, but who knew that she was still
in love with him?
“It would have resulted in a war if the Alpha King was not present,” Alpha Nick concluded. Everyone laughed again, but their happy moment was soon interrupted by Charlotte’s annoying voice.
“Nick please. I changed. Ever since my return, I fell in love with you, Please Nick, we are still mates.”
At this point in time, she could only make Tom the scapegoat since the dignity was at stake. She still had the hope that due to the mate bond, she stood a greater chance than Sheridan.
Every time, she lost to Sheridan and only won when it involved Alpha Nick. As such, she could not believe that even without a bond, Sheridan would succeed in having her man. It was unacceptable.
Alpha Nick laughed mockingly. “Really Charlotte? If you had just offended me, I might as well have allowed you to walk away after rejecting me, but what have you been doing?”
Alpha Nick’s voice was so calm that no one guessed what was coming was even worse.
“Nick, I’ve been training hard to impress you,” Charlotte pleaded with tears streaming down her cheeks. Alpha Nick used to believe her every word, so why should things be different at the time when she needed him the
most?
“Cut the bullshit. Did you really think I was concerned about your strength?” Alpha Nick could not believe how dumb she was to have not seen the red light.
“I was ready to accept you as you are and find a responsibility suitable for you. I thought that for as long as the moon goddess paired us together, your happiness should be my priority, no matter your weakness, but you were f**king my best friend.”
Disgust and pain laced Alpha Nick’s voice because the bond was still not broken. Charlotte was lost for words, and the only thing she could say was, “I’m sorry.”
However, it provoked Alpha Nick even further. “Sorry? I sent Sheridan away because you were not comfortable with her presence, and the only way to pay me back was to throw an insult to my pack.”
Charlotte might be dumb, but not too dumb to realize that things had taken a different turn. “What are you saying?”
Alpha Nick was not ready to mention that last part yet, as that would cause a riot among the pack members.
“Charlotte, have
ve you thought about why I did not reject you even after finding out about all that I knew?” Alpha Nick’s voice was cold, but there was still calmness behind it. Charlotte felt hope smiling on her.
“No.” But Alpha Nick’s response was totally unexpected; she could feel her evil wolf gearing up to cause trouble.
That would also cause her another problem if it was discovered.
“That’s because I wanted you to suffer.” There was a smirk at the corner of Alpha Nick’s lips, causing Charlotte to burn from the pain in his words. “The same way you made me suffer whilst I waited for you. You were in the arms of another man, and died because of you. I tormented Sheridan because of you when all she did was take care
of the pack for me.”
Sheridan directed the love she felt for Alpha Nick to his pack, but even with that, she was met with ingratitude
and disdain because she was not the Alpha’s mate.
“Do you now understand how painful it is to keep loving someone when the person is in love with another? Charlotte, I do not have a problem that you fell in love with Tom. You could have talked it with me and rejected
1. me. I would have accepted it.”
Charlotte’s gaze lowered. She knew he would have accepted it but was not willing to let him go. She was greedy, happy to have her mate and someb*dy else’s wrapped around her fingers,
“However, you tried to be smart. You kept the bond alive and eloped so I would be trapped with you and not be able to move on. You succeeded, so for the time I tormented you, I was equally waiting for Sheridan to return to
me, just as I did for you.”
This time, his words hit Charlotte hard, as she realized that upon all that she went through, Alpha Nick was only
using it to wait for Sheridan, who was not his mate.
“You weren’t fair to me. You made me sleep in the omega’s chamber and allowed the pack members to abuse
me,” she yelled.
No one realized when Alpha Nick’s hand moved away from Sheridan, hitting Charlotte across the face, she fell
instantly. His expression was stone–cold.
“Don’t ever use that tone on me again. I, Alpha Nick Thorax, reject you, Charlotte Next, as my destined mate.”
