The Alpha’s Little Luna

The Perfect Mate

Mercedes’ POV

Look, walking in during a third party’s hot make-out session is embarrassing in itself.

But to see this in the company of the Alpha’s son is simply awful. I can’t take a pose after Alpha Glary closed the door again and allowed the two in the room their privacy again. My face is red with shame, I don’t dare look the man in the eye.

And it wasn’t just my friend Clarita who was on cloud nine in there, but also the father of the Alpha here.

God, kill me now! What a misery!!

“Alpha, I think I should go now. My mate is waiting for me outside, it’s getting late.” That’s all that came to my mind at this moment. It’s still early, I didn’t think to leave the party already. But given the circumstances, I believe this is for the best. Staying in one room with Alpha Glary after seeing this all will be an ordeal.

But he won’t let me go that easy. The Alpha takes my face between his fingers and turns it towards him. When I look up at his face, I see an amused grin.

“Are you shy about what you just saw?” he teased. “I can smell you’re still a virgin, but you’re not inexperienced. I’m sure your Alpha taught you a few steamy things,” he continued with a soft laugh. If I can get redder, I’m definitely done now.

“Uhmmm, Alpha, it wasn’t fair to open the door when we could already guess what was going on there,” I reprimanded him. “You have violated the privacy of the two. I’m so glad they didn’t notice us.” I turn to go back to the party room and say goodbye to my friends. I’ll call it quits for tonight. But the Alpha catches me by the shoulder again.

“Hey, I’m not all to blame. And I didn’t see that you closed your eyes,” he argued, to my surprise. “And besides, they could have locked the door if they planned to have sex.”

“Lousy excuse”, I waved him off. He opens his mouth to dismiss my statement, but I think something in my eyes changed his mind.

Moreover, I have little desire to dissect what I have seen with a third party. At seventeen, Clarita is mature enough to know what she’s doing. Not that I approve of her relationship with a man who’s already mated, but hey, that’s not my business. If the Luna of the pack suspects her messing with Alpha Ahri, the consequences will be on her alone.

I grab my phone and text Zane to get me.

‘Is the party ready over this early?’ he texted back.

‘No. But it’s no fun anymore,’ I responded. Zane promises to get me right away and I shove my phone into my back pocket. I return into the banquet hall and say goodbye to my friends.

Clarita was busy with whatever, so I decide to text her later that evening. When I step outside, Zane isn’t there yet. As I lean into a vehicle in the parking lot, I suddenly see the packhouse’s SUV pull up. My eyes widen with shock.

The Luna!

To my horror I see her getting ready to get out. My brain registers that Clarita is in danger, someone probably tipped off the Luna about what’s going on. I know I have to act quickly, Clarita may be in the wrong, but she’s still my friend. I can’t watch in cold blood as she’s humiliated or perhaps killed by the Luna. Alpha Ahri won’t be able to save Clarita if his mate decides to banish her from the pack or even execute her.

I take a few deep breaths to dispel the panic and to be as relaxed as possible. Then I step towards the Luna.

“Luna Clare, good evening”, I greeted her with a gentle smile. “The party is almost over, everyone is breaking up to head home. And you are arriving at the last minute. You’ve lost the best part.”

Now that I’m closer to her, I saw all the wrinkles on her face. She had probably spent hours brooding and was now out for revenge. Zane once told me that fully mated wolves feel the deception of their mate physically. If one mate commits adultery, it causes terrible pain to the other.

Maybe Luna has been through all that and now wants to catch her mate and his mistress in the act. At the sight of me, the Luna pauses for a moment. She glares at me suspiciously.

“Is the party over, for real? Where is your girlfriend then?” she asked in a menacing tone.

“Do you mean Clarita? Saphira has taken her home. She was completely wasted and we didn’t want to leave her alone in the house. You know that her parents are currently on vacation, Luna”, I made up on the spot.

Luna Clare hesitated but then she looked me straight in the eye as if to see if I’m telling the truth.

“Are you sure she wasn’t left in one of the rooms in the house?” she tried again. I nod in agreement.

“They left a few minutes ago. That’s why I’m here. I even helped put Clarita in the car”, I declared with all my conviction. “Inside are only the cleaners and a few who have stayed back.”

In the distance, I could already see Zane approaching. Luna Clare followed my gaze and the expression on her face softened.

“Isn’t that your mate, Mercedes? I heard that he always allows you some space to indulge in the parties, to enjoy your youth,” she stated approvingly. My face lighted up when I saw Zane got out and walked toward us.

“Always be careful with your friends,” she warned before turning to Zane to greet him.

“Zane, did you come to pick up your beautiful mate?” Luna Clare asked him as he stands before us. “I hear you’re very good to her, as the perfect mate. I’m so glad the Moon Goddess mated her with you,” she added ambiguously. I press my body against my mate, he immediately places a hand over my shoulder.

“Luna, good evening. Yes, but it’s me who’s been blessed with the perfect mate, so it’s not difficult to be good to her,” he answered with a kiss on the top of my head. We watched her return to the car and waved as she left the place.

I take another deep breath and let out a deep sigh of relief. Next week when we get back to school, I must have a serious talk with my girlfriend…Content © provided by NôvelDrama.Org.
