The Alphas And The Orphan

We run through the pack. I look back at the she-wolf behind me. I can see she is struggling to keep up. “my name is Star. We didn’t get time for introductions at your cottage.”

“I know who you are Luna. I am Chrissie and my mate is Jordan. Thank you for saving my babies.”

“Chrissie, I know you are tired, but we are nearly at the bunker, the Luna knows we are on our way. One last push and your children will be safe.”

At the mention of her pups, she pushes forward. We round a corner and I see rogues running for the bunker. Luna, Amanda and three warriors are at the door, ready to fight.

I stop a few metres away and motion for the pups to jump off, I shift and look at the pups, “I need you to run to the Luna with mummy ok, don’t look back, I will distract them ok?” they all nod to me and follow Chrissie towards the Luna.

“Amanda, a young family is running towards you. Get them and yourself inside. They need you to keep everyone calm. The warriors and I will hold them off.”

I shift to my wolf, “let’s kick some rogue a*s Saffy.”

“Hell yeah, let’s show these assholes what we can do.”

I leap over the warrior’s heads, “stay behind me and kill any that get past. Luna, get your a*s in that bunker NOW.”

Running towards the rogues, I call on the wind, creating tornadoes that lift a group of six rogues. They are pulled up by the funnel, and thrown out at velocity. I hear their bodies break as they hit the ground.

The rogues slow for a second, looking at their fallen comrades, unsure what had just happened.

Next I call on lightning, sending bolts into the ground. Several rogues are fried on impact, others are thrown with the force of the bolts.

There are seven rogues left on their feet, three rushed me and Saffy goes full warrior princess on them, twisting out of their reach and turning to attack them instead.

Crushing our jaws onto the throat of one, it’s b***d filling my mouth as his head is severed from its body, I see the warriors fighting as I am thrown to the ground, lava hot pain shoots through my side as I am tackled to the ground.

I see a giant paw with razor-sharp claws coming at me and close my eyes.

Then I hear it, the most beautiful but terrifying roar’s in the world, and the weight on my side is gone, I see the two huge black pelts of Ash and Alexei’s wolves, followed by another slightly smaller black wolf and a huge grey. Within seconds, the rest of the rogues are dead and my mates pad towards me.

I shift as they reach me, and they follow suit. “Angel, are you ok?”

“Baby, you are bleeding.”

Luna comes running from the bunker carrying spare clothes and a blanket. The boys pull on shorts and wrapped me in the blanket. Lex lifts me gently in his arms and walks us to the hospital. “where is Ace? Is he ok?”

Lips brush my forehead. “he will be fine, Angel. He is at the hospital. I have already told them to give him a room with two beds so you can heal together.”

The hospital is busy when we get there, Doctors and nurses running around like lunatics.

As soon as Gabby, a nurse working at reception, spots us, she rushes over and leads us to a room.

“Well Luna, you know you can visit without being a patient, right?”

Rolling my eyes at her, causing Lex to chuckle beside me.

“Tink? What the f**k happened?”

Leaning my head on his shoulder, I smile up at him, “I just thought you might be a lonely baby.”

Lex stretches out next to me and Ash lies next to Ace. All three look like they are about to drop.

Dr Phillips walks into our room and eyes the four of us. “These two say they are with you.” motioning to Liam and Campbell standing in the doorway.

“Yes Doc, that’s my dad and my stepdad. Come in guys, make yourself at home.”

Liam looks like he has just won the lotto and I think Campbell might cry at being introduced as my dads. Doc walks over to the beds.

“Well, in know better than to tell you guys to go home, so welcome to the hospital hotel. I hope you enjoy your stay.”

I grin at him. “The service was so good Doc, we thought we would make it a weekly thing.”

“Mmmm, I would rather you didn’t. Some of our younger female staff get a little excited about these three hunks. Now your injuries are not serious, but I would like to keep you both overnight, and as long as you are healing well, you can both go home in the morning.”

Lex sits up, “thanks Doc, how is it out there? Anyone we should be worried about?”

“At the moment, we have no fatalities. We seem to have gotten off lightly, lots of cuts, bites and bruises, but nothing serious.”

It’s not long before Alpha, Luna and all our friends turn up. The boys are all sporting a few cuts and bruises, but it looks like me and Ace are the worst.

Max and Suzie turn up with bags and bags of burgers. Thank the goddess, the Alpha room in the hospital is so big, everyone sits around the room on couches.

Once we have eaten, Luna orders everyone out, leaving the four of us alone. We all snuggle in and I am soon lulled to sleep with the sound of my mates breathing.
