The Almighty Lord Caspian

Chapter 640 Caspian Came to the Rescue

Chapter 640 Caspian Came to the Rescue

Laina fired at the secret agent immediately. A rapid sequence of gunshots rang out, and several bullets

hit the target. Before the agent fell, he had already loaded the missile into the cannon.

The mortar was fired in the wrong direction. The missile ended up exploding in the secret agent's room.

The deafening noise startled everyone. Many bodies in the room were propelled outward by the

explosive force.

Macy and the Phoenix Vanguard happened to rush to the area near the building. When they saw the

sudden explosion in the building, they quickly found a spot to hide in.

Balthazar and Lyndon heard the explosion, too.

"What happened? Why do I hear the sounds of an explosion coming from outside?" Balthazar said.

"We should leave this place first and find somewhere safe, Your Majesty," Lyndon urged.

"Sure!" Balthazar nodded. He knew that they had to get away from danger now.

The missile was powerful, but not to the extent of causing mass destruction.

Macy led the charge into the building, the Phoenix Vanguard behind her.

Half of the secret agents in the building had already died or gotten injured. They were feeling

somewhat lost.

Macy's subordinates surrounded the building.

The secret agents were left with no escape route, but they had no plans of waiting here for their deaths.

They stood guard next to the entrances to the elevators, the staircases, and some important corridors,

getting ready to fight to the last ditch.

Jade Dragon Grand Hotel was surrounded by more and more soldiers. No one knew the number of

secret agents here, and the remaining military detail had to put their all into protecting Balthazar.

The Phoenix Vanguard, led by Macy, should have no problem killing all the secret agents.

They dashed into the building with Macy leading the charge and started going up to the higher floors.

At last, all the secret agents were killed by Macy.

When Laina saw Macy lead the Phoenix Vanguard into the building, she knew the enemy agents had

ended up dead. However, she had no idea if Balthazar was harmed.

She left the rooftop and returned to the hotel. When she arrived at the topmost floor, she saw Lyndon

and Balthazar. Upon seeing that Balthazar was safe and sound, she exhaled in relief.

She would blame herself if Balthazar got hurt.

"I didn't protect you well, Your Majesty. Please punish me!" Laina said.

"You're not to be blamed for this, Laina. This happened so suddenly, and the fact that you could

organize an effective counterattack is already very impressive," Balthazar said.

"Thank you, Your Majesty!" Laina said, overcome by emotions. She did not expect Balthazar to be so

understanding—he had decided not to blame her for everything.

"If not for your efforts in eliminating all of the secret agents, I would surely be in danger even now. It's

me who has to thank you all," Balthazar said.

"You're too kind, Your Majesty. Protecting you is our responsibility." Laina still found this somewhat

unbelievable.

Not only had Balthazar not reprimanded or punished her, but he had expressed his thanks toward her.

"By the way, what's with the explosion we heard just now?" Balthazar asked.

"An enemy secret agent was trying to fire a missile at you through a mortar, Your Majesty. But I killed

him before he could. He had loaded the cannon before his death, though, and the missile directly

exploded in his room," Laina said.

Balthazar felt glad upon hearing that. If Laina had not killed the secret agent in the nick of time, he,

Lyndon, and the others present would have exploded into shreds.

"You've done well, Laina. You'll be rewarded after this wraps up," Balthazar said.

"I dare not claim that I have done well, Your Majesty," Laina said, terrified.

"If you hadn't killed the secret agents on time, the missile would've been fired into my suite, causing

serious consequences!" The thought of what could have happened scared Balthazar still.

Dealing with those enemy secret agents was a simple task for Macy and the Phoenix Vanguard, who

completed the task within the shortest time.

They quickly returned to Jade Dragon Grand Hotel, as protecting Balthazar was their priority.

Soon after, Caspian came to the hotel with the armored battalion in tow. When he exited the car, Macy NôvelDrama.Org owns all © content.

came forward to welcome him.

"Lord Caspian, you're here!" She felt so much at ease upon seeing him—this was always the case

whenever Caspian appeared.

"Report the situation, Macy!" Caspian commanded.

"We've already killed all the enemy secret agents, Lord Caspian!" Macy replied.

"You must not be careless. Those secret agents might still be hiding near the hotel," Caspian said.

"Yes, Lord!" Macy nodded emphatically.

"Is the King well?" Caspian was most concerned about Balthazar's situation.

"Don't worry, Lord. The King is not injured," Macy said.

Caspian nodded. "Got it. Continue guarding the building while I go up and see what's going on."

He was relieved now that Balthazar was fine. If Balthazar was injured in his territory, he had to take

responsibility for it. Some people with nefarious motives might capitalize on this and claim that he was

the one behind this assassination!

He was the successor to the Diatoranian throne, after all. If the King was assassinated at this key

moment, of course Caspian would be suspected.

Just as Caspian was about to enter the hotel, Macy shouted in alarm, "Careful, Lord Caspian!"

She quickly ran to stand behind Caspian.

A bullet was fired from the building opposite the hotel, aimed at Caspian.

As Caspian realized that someone was attacking him, his face took on a serious expression. At every

key moment, Macy would shield him from danger with her body.

Caspian quickly turned back. As expected, he saw a bullet fly toward him. He withdrew the Diatanium

dagger, and the bullet directly collided with the dagger with a metallic clang.

This bullet was not ordinary—it was a rifle bullet. While blocking this high-velocity bullet, Caspian's

wrist touched Macy's chest.

"Ah!" Macy shrieked coquettishly.

"Are you okay, Macy?" Caspian asked anxiously, thinking Macy was injured.

"I-I'm fine," Macy said, her face beet red.

"Protect the King!" The armored battalion charged forward immediately. Some of the armored soldiers

dashed into the building across the road and killed the sniper at the fastest speed possible.

The sniper had wanted to take the risk. If he could kill Caspian, he would surely be rewarded with a

promotion. However, he did not expect Caspian to manage to block such a speeding bullet—this was

extremely shocking.

"We're safe now, Lord Caspian. I think you can remove your hand now," Macy said, her face red.

Caspian had looped his arm around Macy's waist due to the dire situation they had been in.
