Swept Into a Fairytale Marriage 55

Chapter 55 The CEO’s Reminder

“That’s wonderful,” Farrah said, genuinely happy for Mark. “Your mother is truly lucky.”

“Please send my regards if he returns,” Mark said, his tone earnest. “Actually, please let me know if you can. I came back to Ronson City specifically to see him.”

“Before he left, Mr. Dunn mentioned that he might be away for a long time–maybe ten years, maybe even 20…” Farrah’s voice trailed off, tinged with longing.

“So, it might be a while before we meet again.”

Mark couldn’t help but feel a hint of sadness. This parting could very well be permanent. Mr. Dunn was already in his 60s….

In the presidential suite, the two continued reminiscing

Meanwhile, in the Lamborghini headed back to the office, Kenneth was driving.

Germaine sat in the back seat next to Adrian, while Corey rode in another car. Silence befell the vehicle.

Germaine knew the contract had been successfully signed, but instead of feeling happy, she was Consumed by jealousy. No matter how competent she was, it seemed trivial compared to the fact that Farrah could seal a billion–dollar deal with just a few words.

Adrian, dressed in a perfectly tailored black shirt, gazed out the window, his thick brows furrowed in thought. He couldn’t shake the admiration he felt for Farrah after what had just transpired; it was completely unexpected.

But he also sensed Germaine’s mood–she appeared distracted, not at all pleased. Then, he recalled the recording from the night before and called out softly, “Germaine.”

She s

snapped out of her reverie, turning to look at his handsome profile. “Yes, Mr. Locke?” Original from NôvelDrama.Org.

Their eyes met, and for a moment, she felt a strange distance between them.

“If you’re not adapting well at Prestige Group’s headquarters, you can stay at the branch office,” Adrian said lightly without any hint of reproach.

Germaine stiffened, sensing an underlying message. “Am I lacking in a certain area, Mr. Locke?‘ she asked nervously.

Adrian met her gaze for a few seconds before replying, “I reflect on myself three times a day.” With that, he turned his gaze back out the window, leaving no room for further discussion.

Germaine felt a wave of unease. Did he know something? Had Farrah said something to him?

She remembered how he had opened the car door for Farrah at the hospital, allowing her to sit in the passenger seat of his beloved Lamborghini. Reality struck her hard. Farrah must have a significant connection to him.

As Germaine sat beside him, her emotions churned. She resolved to focus on keeping her job and remaining close to Adrian, deciding to avoid confronting Farrah for a while.

As long as Farrah wasn’t Mrs. Locke, Germaine believed she still had hope. After all, how could such an inconsequential employee become Mrs. Locke?

In the afternoon, Farrah returned to the office. As she stepped out of the elevator on the 11th floor, she unexpectedly ran into Corey. Their eyes met, and for a moment, time seemed to freeze.

His gaze was filled with warmth, as if he had been waiting for the right moment to speak with her alone.” Why did you get married so young?” he asked, a smile playing on his lips but his heart heavy.

Before she could respond, he continued, “Is your husband good to you?”

Just then, the doors of the CEO’s exclusive elevator opened, and Adrian had just stepped out when he heard Corey’s voice.

“Does he accept your family background?” Corey asked, concern etched across his face. “If he mistreats you or if you feel forced into this marriage, you can tell me. I’m willing to marry you.”

By the elevator, Adrian’s relaxed expression immediately tightened. Was Corey encouraging Farrah to get a divorce?

“No… Farrah laughed nervously, eager to clarify. “I think you’ve misunderstood. I got married early not because I was forced into it, nor is it related to my family. It’s because I found love!”
