Chapter 196
Smirking, Artemis let out a chuckle before uttering in a hoarse voice, “You're probably the only one who
can give me an experience like this, Ms. Bailey.”
To that, the corner of Bailey's eye twitched in disbelief. That's not what I expected to hear. What do I do
with this guy? The level of shamelessness this jerk displays completely blew my mind.
“Is that so? Then, why don't you have another?” With that, Bailey drove her heel into the man's foot
forcefully once again.
Even under the dim lighting, the woman could clearly see Artemis' good-looking facial features begin to
contort.
Bailey then proceeded to stomp Artemis a few more times before questioning him with a cold smile.
“How about now? Are you enjoying yourself?” This content © Nôv/elDr(a)m/a.Org.
In response, Artemis grabbed Bailey by the waist with one hand and caressed her cheek with the other.
“Oh, yes. I believe I'll enjoy myself even more if we get to indulge in this exchange more deeply,”
insisted the man through gritted teeth.
After hearing that, Bailey lost her patience to continue with Artemis' little game.
“Are you done flirting, Mr. Luther? Your sister is about to reach the stage, and when she does, they're
going to turn the lights back on. Just imagine how we're going to hit the headlines tomorrow when
everyone sees us like this. Everyone will lose their mind.”
Artemis leaned in and pecked Bailey on the cheek with his tender lips, taking every opportunity to tease
her. “You heard my grandfather. He's ready to announce your marriage with Edmund to the entire
upper class. I want to know what you is in your mind.”
“What if I told you that I'm looking forward to the announcement and that I can't wait to receive
blessings from the crowd beside Edmund? What then?” sneered Bailey.
With his arms suddenly tightening around the woman's waist, an icy-cold glint flashed across Artemis'
eyes. “You're playing with fire here. Do you know that?”
The man then got closer to Bailey's ear. “If you do that, I'll bed you tonight and have Edmund know
what it's like to be cheated on.”
“You're insane!”
In a flash, a sharp blade suddenly appeared on Artemis' neck.
“All I have to do is flick my wrist, and this world will be short of a man named Artemis Luther. How are
you going to do that when you're dead? With your spirit?”
Instead of saying anything in response, Artemis simply smiled at Bailey, who tightened her grip on the
knife.
If the woman just applied a little more force on the weapon, she would cut Artemis' neck open and
cause him to bleed to death.
However, Bailey did not do that. She pushed the man away and said coldly, “I planned to leave early. If
it weren't for you, I would've been gone by now.”
“Good girl. This is what I like about you. I'd rather not waste my time disciplining my girl.” Artemis
patted Bailey on the face in a frivolous demeanor.
“Can I leave now?” inquired Bailey, narrowing her eyes at the man.
“Go. Don't get caught.”
Bailey then lifted her foot once again and kicked Artemis in the knee before sneaking away while the
man groaned in pain.
“Da*n you, woman! I'll get you one day!”
When she heard Artemis cursing, Bailey instinctively smirked. That's for taking advantage of me. He
should be grateful that I went for his knee instead of his manhood.
The woman glanced at the stage from behind the crowd as she left the place.
Sitting in front of a harp was Caridee skillfully playing a beautiful tune and serenading her guests.
Meanwhile, Susan spun elegantly in the center of the stage. Her dance moves were captivating and
lively.
The aunt and niece are putting on a terrific show. Well, they are both from the Luther family, so they're
basically born with elegance and talent. Unlike me, my daughter should be able to lead an easy life as
one of the Luthers. Bailey had a half-smile on her face as she looked away.
After leaving the banquet hall, Bailey went straight to the elevator.
The woman was about to make a turn when she suddenly froze because she smelled a peculiar
fragrance.
Since all the guests were already inside the banquet hall, the empty hotel corridor seemed somewhat
eerie.
However, Bailey did not stop moving. She became more alert instead.
The woman then pretended to cough so she could slip the drug between her fingers into her mouth
when covering it.
After what Beatrice did to her last time, Bailey became more sensitive to fragrance. She thought it was
better to be safe than sorry.
Ding!
Bailey sized up the two waiters in the elevator before getting in.
The woman casually stepped backward after the elevator door closed, but it did not take long before
she felt a large hand clasping her shoulder. As expected, it's a trap. This is going to be interesting!
“We need you to come with us, Ms. Jefferson,” voiced the person behind Bailey as they covered her
nose and mouth with a handkerchief.
What a strong knock-out drug! If I hadn't ingested the counteragent, I'd be in trouble again. Ten
seconds later, Bailey's legs gave way because she was completely unconscious.
“Find her phone in her bag and text Artemis. Ask him to go to unit 501 on the sixteenth floor.”
“Okay. You should hurry up and take her to the mysterious man. Remember to ask for our remaining
payment.”
“Of course.”
Meanwhile, in the banquet hall, Caridee and Susan were showered with cheers and applause because
of their excellent performance.
Artemis was making small talk with a group of business associates when he sensed his phone buzzing.
After pulling out the device, he saw a message on the screen: Sixteenth floor. Unit 501. Come quickly. I
have something urgent to discuss with you.
Bailey's name appeared on top of the message as the sender.
Without thinking twice, Artemis quickly excused himself and quietly left the hall.
The unconscious Bailey was taken to a suite on the sixteenth floor.
“I have the woman you want, mister. When will we receive the rest of our payment?”
“What's the hurry?” asked a middle-aged man in the room. “Stay here and watch her. I'm going to unit
501. You'll have your money when this is over.”
“Sure. See you soon.”
There was a murderous intent in the middle-aged man's eyes when he glanced at Bailey.
However, he quickly suppressed his rage and adjusted his hat before striding out of the room.
