Chapter 826 She’s Been Poisoned
Chapter 826 She’s Been Poisoned
Bella laughed at hearing that.
The exasperation flaring in her chest gradually ebbed.
She picked up the cereal and said with a smile, “Then, has Queeny learned about this?”
Katy said animatedly, “Ella was angered to the point that her face turned livid. She surely would tell
Queeny about this.”
Bella was more pleased when she heard Katy’s words.
But then, she thought of Queeny’s aloof personality, and her eyes dimmed a bit.
“Will that woman be bothered by something that trivial?”
“Probably not, I guess. If I was not certain that she had feelings for Felix, I would believe she was like a
walking dead with no emotions.”
At this thought, Bella gave a cold snort.
“So what if she has feelings for Felix?”
“They are not together after all.”
“I still stand a chance as long as they’re not a couple. Besides, if Felix and Queeny really have no hard
feelings as he claimed, why haven’t they just got back together?”
“Felix used me to prove that Queeny was not into him anymore.”
Thinking about this, Bella’s dimmed eyes brightened up again.
She gave a snort of contempt and had a spoonful of cereal.
After taking just one spoonful, she immediately felt satisfied. It tasted like winning.
It was like the best cereal she had ever had.
Bella soon emptied the bowl. She even licked the corner of her mouth and said, “They must have been
so mad by now. Let’s go and watch. Even though I can’t do anything to Queeny, I’d like to annoy her
with me being in front of her.”
She put down the bowl and got to her feet.
Seeing this, Katy was thrilled.
She grabbed everything Bella needed. To not look inferior to Queeny at any rate, every time Bella went
out of her room, even if it was just for a walk in the castle, she would dress herself up as if she was
going to a fancy party.
It was no exception for this time, of course.
However, just as Katy picked up a purse for Bella, she suddenly saw Bella’s countenance alter, and
then she bent down.
Katy was stunned. She scurried over to support Bella.
“Miss Collins, what’s wrong?”
Bella’s face instantly became chalk-white and pinched. Perspiration quickly beaded on her forehead.
She was mumbling something in a broken voice. Then, all of a sudden, she stretched out her hand,
which was shaking in pain, and grabbed Katy by the arm.
Bella’s grip was so forceful that Katy felt her hand would be inlaid in her arm.
“My stomach hurts...” Bella uttered with difficulty.
Katy panicked.
“How so? Don’t worry. Sit down first.”
Katy helped Bella sit in a chair. But then, she saw Bella’s face turn from white to red, and the corners of
her mouth became purple.
In seconds, Bella felt as if a knife was twirling in her belly. It was like a hand had grabbed her bowels
and was trying to pull them out.
She almost fainted because of severe pain. Seeing her in such agony, Katy realized how bad it was.
She said, “Miss Collins, hang in there. I’ll call the doctor. Hang in there. The doctor will be here in a
minute.”
After saying that, Katy dashed out.
Shortly after, the doctor came.
Donald had also been informed of this, so he and other servants hurried over here, too.
When they arrived, Bella had passed out due to the unbearable pain.
At the sight of her face, the doctor instantly showed a grave look. He swiftly began to examine Bella
and started the treatment.
Queeny heard about the incident too. When she arrived, Bella’s room was already packed.
Queeny frowned.
By this time, the doctor had asked the others to carry Bella to bed. Now, he was trying to help her. Content © NôvelDrama.Org 2024.
Donald strode over when he looked back and saw Queeny.
“Miss Horton.”
Queeny asked with a frown, “What happened?”
Donald looked concerned. He replied in a deep voice, “I don’t know. I just heard that something
happened to Bella, so I rushed here. It’s said that…”
He paused and furrowed his brows as well. Then, he continued, “She’s been poisoned.”
“Poisoned?”
Queeny asked in surprise.
Donald nodded.
“Yes. We don’t know how she got poisoned yet. The doctor is still running some tests. But we’ll know
soon.”
Queeny bobbed her head.
She was bemused. This was Felix’s castle. Everything going in and out of the castle was under
stringent surveillance. How could anything like this happen here?
Also, why was Bella the one who got poisoned?
Although Queeny didn’t know Bella much, she knew that Bella was pretty but dumb. She shouldn’t be a
threat to anyone here.
Who on earth would do this to her?
Queeny was puzzled by this, so were the others.
However, since it happened, wondering why it happened would not help.
Queeny took a glimpse at Bella, who was lying in bed with her eyes closed and her face ashen. She
inquired, “The doctor can save her, right?”
Donald nodded again.
“Yes, he said he could. Though the poison was deadly, Bella was treated in time. She'll be okay.”
Queeny felt relieved at his words.
Bella had caused trouble for her several times. She never liked this scheming woman anyway.
Still, she hated to see another person die in front of her.
After a brief silence, she said, “Tell Felix about this. He should be notified as soon as possible.”
Perhaps this was just in her head, but she still had the feeling that it was no coincidence that Bella
happened to be poisoned on Valentine’s day.
Maybe the poison was prepared for Felix.
Hence, it was absolutely necessary to let Felix know about this.
Donald nodded and said, “I think so, too. It’s just that I was overwhelmed as it happened all of a
sudden. I’ll tell him right now.”
After that, he went out to make a call.
Queeny stayed there and watched Bella for a while. Later, the doctor said she would be fine as long as
they moved her to the infirmary in the main building to have her stomach pumped. After making sure
Bella would be fine, Queeny left the room.
Her brows were deeply furrowed all the way back to her room.
For some reason, the feeling of unease looming inside her was getting more and more distinct.
Thankfully, Donald soon sent a servant to bring a message to her.
The servant told her that Felix had learned about this and was on his way back.
This incident had nothing to do with Queeny. Still, Donald sent someone to keep her posted.
It could be seen that Donald had held Queeny in high regard.
He had basically seen her as the hostess of the castle.
Queeny didn’t make any comments after hearing this.
It appeared that she was not interested in this at all.
