Chapter 2198
Chapter 2198
Anastasia on the sofa, asking, “I’m not disturbing you guys, am I?"
Alexander shook his head. They were only waiting for news anyway. However, it was strange that he had not received helpful information from his local and foreign networks.
“What would like you like to drink?” Alexander asked, then added, “Fruit juice, cola, or—"
“Just plain water,” Anastasia said with a smile.
Surprised, Alexander nodded and told a maid to serve two glasses of purified water.
‘She seems different than before. She used to be plump and was proud yet insecure. Sometimes, she liked junk food; other times, she ate nothing.’
Alexander only had a vague impression as he did not have much direct contact with her. He only occasionally heard about Cameron expressing his regret for not spending much time with his daughter.
However, Anastasia became close to Lily. After Lily helped neutralize the toxin inside Anastasia, she lost a lot of weight. Now, she was confident and a bit slimmer.
Alexander thought Lily would be proud to see the changes in Anastasia.
“Alex? Alex?” She called him twice before he returned to his . “What were you thinking about?”
“I just feel you've changed a lot. Lily would be thrilled if she saw you,” he said.
Anastasia grew worried at the mention of Lily. “My dad told me what happened to Lily. I’m sure she'll be okay.”
Alexander had not told Anastasia everything that had happened, but she seemed to have found out about it now.
Since Cameron had told her, Alexander thought he should no longer keep things from Anastasia.
He nodded and sighed, “I hope so too.”
“Oh, I came to tell you some good news.” Turning around,
Anastasia took a photo from her purse and handed it to Content protected by Nôv/el(D)rama.Org.
Alexander. “Do you recognize him?”
He took it curiously. It was a photo of a foreign man with sharp facial features. He had a gentle face and a faint smile, but his gaze looked sad. The man looked about the same age as Alexander as he carried a child.
Although the person seemed familiar at first glance,
Alexander could not immediately remember where he had seen the person.
“I don't think I do.” Shaking his head, he looked at Anastasia.
“Why?”
Anastasia said, “No? Look closer.”
Alexander was puzzled. He took another look and saw a mark on the person's neck. Hidden by his collar, it somewhat resembled a birthmark or a scar.
