Chapter 65. Sister

Noah POV

I stared after Briana and the man with unblinking eyes until they were well out of sight.

I shook my head, still unable to process what had happened.

Briana went out with a man.

He was not just some man. He was the same man at the bidding and the pictures from five years ago; that I was sure of.

After Briana signed our divorce, I kept looking at the pictures Uncle Matt provided. It has haunted me for a while.

“She was out on a date?” Rowan asked, surprising me. Property © of NôvelDrama.Org.

In my preoccupation with what had transpired earlier, I did not realize that he already crept up to me until he said something.

“It appears so,” I said, masking the pain that such an occurrence brought to my heart.

While I was bent on pursuing her and winning her back, another complication threatened to thwart my plans.

“Oh my! Wait until Charles and Marcus hear this. I bet they would approve.” Flint said, rubbing the pain in.

The two brothers looked gloatingly at me before they started talking between them.

“Hey, that’s not nice,” Rowan commented.

“Well, it serves him right. He hurt our Briana.” Flint replied.

They were talking and dissing me as if I was not there. Well, maybe I deserve this for breaking Briana’s heart back then, for not trusting her. But I could not help feeling stuffy inside. My chest hurts.

“You can include me in your discussion. I won’t mind.” The sarcasm in my tone was lost on them as they kept talking about what had happened, ignoring the barb that came out of my mouth.

“Do you think she’s seriously considering Anthony this time?”

The name rang a bell. The man Briana left with was Anthony Goldston, a remarkable legal counsel. I presume he was also the legal counsel for the Ford Empire.

I swallowed hard and asked the brothers. “Was Anthony courting her?”

I hate to think about the possibility of demolishing another man to clear my path toward Briana, but if I have to do that, I will.

This is for my family, and it is a life–and–death situation for me.

They nodded in answer to my question, and I could feel a tightening in my chest in reaction to their response. I only resolved to win my family back.

Now, my plans were on the brink of disaster because of one Anthony Goldstone.

“I can’t let that happen. Briana belongs to me and my children.”

Rowan and Flint looked at me like I had grown another head.

“Dream on.” Flint snorted.

“You are lucky Briana allowed you near her children. But don’t let it go to your head. She was doing it for the kids, not for you. If it is up to Briana, you can go to hell for all she cared.”

“Yeah. With how you have made her suffer? You have the guts to show up so casually thinking so highly of yourself that she would take you back?”

And then Rowan and Flint Ford laughed insultingly in my face while heat spread slowly to my cheeks up to the roots of my hair.

Their words were brutal, punching me all over. They did not spare me an inch.

“I realized my mistake, and I am trying to correct them,” I told them truthfully, but the two only eyed me dubiously,

“You are trying, but have a side chick? Was that how you showed your sincerity to Briana?”

“We are done. I already broke the relationship with Brtiney the day Briana showed up.” I explained

“And you think that was enough? Didn’t you know that Briana’s office today?”

My eyes widened in surprise.

“When your girlfriend left, Brie was not the same.” Rowan shared.

Shock must have shown on my face because Rowan looked pityingly at me.

“Your first duty should have been to protect her, but you failed miserably. Now you have the gall to announce that you want to win her back?” Rowan’s voice hardened, and the once genial expression on his face turned aggressive.

“Tough luck, Hunter. Compared to you, Anthony is way better.” Rowan declared, cutting my ego down to size.

I thought by leveling with them and sharing my intention, everything would be alright. But how wrong I was. The four brothers watched Briana and our children. like hawks.

“I want my family back. I intend to do everything in my power to fix the mess! created.” I also made a promise to myself to confront Britney about this.

Flint shook his head. “Well, you can start crawling and begging.” He advised.

We glared at each other like opponents from a match, ready to cut down the other’s

throats.

“What is happening here?” Charles, the eldest of the Ford brothers, walked in on us, breaking the tension in the air.

Jenna, his wife, was with him.

“I bet they were arguing about Brie. Did she leave with Anthony?” She said nonplussed.

The four of us looked at her. “You knew about her date?” Rowan cried.

“Of course. I am her confidante.” Jenna announced just before flipping her curly hair.

She pierced me with a sharp look that spells danger.

“I know everything.” She muttered and gave me a side–eye before sashaying out of

the room.

“Is your wife Pmsing?” Flint directed his question to Charles, who only huffed and went after his wife.

“Whipped!” Flint mumbled before his eyes landed on mine.

“I know you are not in love with our sister, so off you go.” He said, shooing me out of

The home.
