Chapter 90
Chapter 90 He’s Impotent
“Just worry about yourself,” Jake said with a frown.
“My crisis has been resolved, but some social ties are hard to let water. “What about you? I heard you’re getting engaged soon.”
go of.” Ashton handed Jake a bottle of
“I’ve not decided yet.” Jake pushed the water bottle away and strode out.
On the way back, Leon suddenly asked, “Is Jake the one who spoke up for you?” Owned by NôvelDrama.Org.
Gwen felt a bit irritated. “He wasn’t just speaking up for me, he stands to profit from it too!”
Leon nodded. “He’s not bad looking, but if he doesn’t like women, he’s not right for you. It’s a blessing that you’re parting ways
She was speechless at Leon’s comment. His mouth could really get out of hand.
“Yes, you’re right. It’s better this way.”
Leon had been far away and was caught up in his own tasks when she married Jake.
To verify Jake’s character, Leon had hacked into Jake’s computer to search for any evidence of Inappropriate material, only to be shocked to find that Jake didn’t even have any of the usual male- oriented films.
He had even doubted Jake’s masculinity, summarizing his findings in an email to Gwen, which she had ignored.
Looking back at the three years of a sexless marriage, Gwen couldn’t help but think that Jake might indeed be impotent. How he managed to have a child with Sienna was definitely up for debate.
“Leon, why did you come back alone? Where’s your wife?”
“She’s either still in my dreams or hasn’t been born yet. In short, I haven’t met her,” Leon replied.
“I don’t care. You need to find her soon. Otherwise, when you get older and grow even more reserved, you’ll definitely end up lonely for life.” Gwen shook Leon’s shoulder, making him laugh.
Henry was too feature and always carried their father’s strictness, while Ryan was too whimsical, often drifting off–topic. Only Leon was steady and thoughtful, quietly listening to her rants and far–fetched ideas.
Gwen had Alfie drop her off at the company before taking Leon home. She hoped to surprise Ryan.
As expected, Ryan called her to complain not long after she started working.
“Gwen! Leon is so dull! He dismantled the humidifier in my room! Come pick me up! Let’s go for a drive. It’s better than staying with a robot!”
She chuckled on the other end of the line. “You two behave at home and don’t start any fights.”
Unable to vent his frustrations, he hung up.
She then focused on her work; when she finally looked up, it was already 11:00 pm.
As she stepped outside, she found Alfie still there, so they both headed down together.
On their way back, they arrived at a dimly lit intersection.
As the green light flashed, Alfie started to move, but suddenly, a group of fierce–looking men rushed in
front of the car..
Each of them wielded long knives as they blocked the vehicle’s path.
Alfie attempted to reverse, but the car’s rear was also blocked. The men began to pound on the windows and shout for them to get out.
“Ms. Lawson, call the police quickly. Stay in the car, and don’t go out. I’ll handle this.”
Although he was an experienced assistant, he had rarely encountered a situation like this in his life, and for a moment, his voice even trembled slightly as he spoke.
Gathering his courage, he prepared to open the door, but Gwen stopped him from behind.
“It won’t help if you go out. They are here for me,” Gwen said calmly. “You stay in the car. I’ll protect you.”
He swallowed hard while looking into her determined eyes through the dim light. At that moment, his fear began to dissipate.
Outside, the burly men continued banging on the doors. Suddenly, the rear door swung open, and a high- heeled foot shot out, sending one of the men flying into the nearby bushes.
Everyone was taken aback as they stared at the tattooed man directing the group.
“Boss, aren’t we supposed to be dealing with a delicate little lady today? No one had said anything about us dealing with a fighter!”
