Revenge 178

Revenge 178

Mayra had always wanted to outshine Isabel. But no matter how well she did, it was never enough uring events, Anderson would always introduce the person beside him as his “wife.”

Mayra had sacrificed her dignity for Anderson. She had stayed by his side as his illicit lover for many years. Compared to Isabel, she had lost completely.

What exactly made Anderson change his mind? Mayra hadn’t even done anything.

Even if Anderson really had feelings for her, she couldn’t stay with him anymore. To outsiders, Anderson seemed ascetic and

uninterested in women, with only one “official” fiancée.

Mayra used to believe he was like that too. However, he turned out to be like other men, driven by greed, money, and lust.

Mayra had tried to investigate whether he was secretly keeping other women beside her. After Anderson found out, she barely escaped disaster. She thought the man that had raised her was omnipotent. But his heart was… Well, all men’s hearts were tainted.

Mayra gradually calmed down. She picked up her backpack from the floor and started her homework.

Ever since she decided to study medicine, her workload increased significantly. Besides her regular coursework, she also needed to master the medical texts given by Oliver.

She was naturally gifted in learning. Whenever she set her mind to something, she excelled at it.

In her spare time she would speakl

from Oliver. Gordon had probably made arrangements with Oliver in advance.

Oliver taught her wholeheartedly. She started learning acupuncture and gained a basic understanding of pressure points.

It was 3:00 am. The dry summer wind blew in the dark night.

A car drove into the Barlow mansion, and Anderson got out of it. He headed inside with a black suit jacket on his arm. Shane brought in the local specialties from Candor City for Mayra from the trunk.

Shane said, “Have a good rest, Mr. Barlow.”

After tossing his suit jacket at the entryway, he walked up the stairs and stopped in the hallway.

The light was on in the room beside the master bedroom on the third floor. A beam of light leaked through the crack. He stopped in front of the door and turned the doorknob, only to find that the door was locked from the inside.

Mayra heard the noise and quickly opened her eyes. She listened carefully until she ensured there wasn’t any sound. Only then did she let her guard down and continue sleeping.

She slept at around 1:00 am and woke up at 5:30 am, just as the sun was rising. When she went downstairs, she saw two sets of

breakfast.

She asked the maid, “Why are there two sets of breakfast? Did Andy come back last night?”

The maid replied, “Yes, Mr. Anderson returned late last night and brought quite a few things.”

“Ms. Sadler, please enjoy your meal. I’ll call Mr. Anderson down for breakfast.”

“No need, just let him sleep in longer. He must be exhausted from coming home late. Don’t disturb him.”

Mayra left the mansion with a sandwich and a bottle of milk.

The maid picked up something she had dropped. “Ms. Sadler, your keys.”

In the private car, Mayra switched on her phone, which had been. off for a long time. To her surprise, there was only one missed call from Anderson. The rest were missed calls and text messages

from Gordon.

Mayra scrolled through each of the texts.

Gordon typed, “I’ve returned to Belchester.” Exclusive content from NôvelDrama.Org.

Mayra smiled and replied, “Gordon, I really want to see you.”
