Chapter 449
Chapter 449
Kevin suggested, "Ms. Clara, why don't we make this fool grovel and beg for forgiveness, then crawl through my legs?"
"I have a better idea. Let him lick my shoes clean," Lorraine chimed in.
"You're taking things too far," Artemis snapped. She felt that making Sebastian grovel and lick someone's shoes was utterly insulting.
Clara replied, "Artemis, I find those remarks unpleasant. Wrongdoers need to be punished. I think Kevin and Lorraine's suggestions are quite fitting. Let this lackey apologize to the injured housekeepers, crawl between Kevin's legs, and then lick Lorraine's shoes."
She continued, "Well, if you think that's too harsh, we can always break his limbs."
Artemis turned to Sebastian. "Seamus, why don't you just... do as they say?"
"Ms. Artemis, I really didn't do anything to them," he insisted.
Artemis remained silent, her eyes betraying her inner conflict. She wanted to trust Sebastian, even if he was lying. She knew, deep down, that he was likely provoked first by these people.
Despite her desire to help him, she was powerless to intervene. As demeaning as it was, it was still better than having him crippled.
Suddenly, she made a decision. "Clara, if I grovel in his place, will you show him some mercy?"
"Oh, for someone of your status to grovel for a lackey? I'll certainly give you some leniency. But are you really willing to do this?" Clara said.
Artemis immediately kneeled before her.
"Ms. Artemis, please don't do this. Get up," Sebastian urged, reaching out to help her up. He felt that it was unjust for Artemis to apologize on his behalf when he hadn't done anything wrong.
Clara burst into laughter. "Artemis, I can't believe you're going to such lengths for this lackey. Do you have a soft spot for him or something?"
"Don't talk nonsense. I'm only doing this out of pity for him. I'm already kneeling. Can't you show some mercy and let him go?" Artemis said.Têxt © NôvelDrama.Org.
"Since you've apologized for him, he doesn't need to grovel. But he still has to crawl through Kevin's legs and lick Lorraine's shoes."
"How can you do this?" Artemis stood up, furious.
"What? You've just groveled for him. Are you planning to crawl and lick Lorraine's shoes for him too?" Clara
taunted.
"You..." Artemis pointed at Clara, trembling with anger. She hadn't expected Clara to be so ruthless. Sebastian's fists tightened slowly, a cold fury flashing in his eyes. Artemis had saved his life. While he could tolerate being mistreated, he couldn't stand seeing his savior being humiliated.
He stepped forward and said, "This has nothing to do with Ms. Artemis. I'm responsible for my own actions. If you want to punish someone, come at me."
Clara was surprised. "Well, look at you showing some spine. I like a lackey with guts. So, what's it going to be? Will you face having your limbs broken, or will you crawl and lick shoes?"
Kevin taunted, "With that kind of spirit, there's no way he's going to crawl under my legs and lick shoes."
Lorraine scoffed. "He's just a lackey. What guts does he really have? If he doesn't crawl and lick, I'll make sure he gets what's coming to him."
Seeing that Sebastian hadn't made a choice, Clara grew impatient. "Have you made up your mind yet? If you don't choose, I'll break your limbs."
"No, I don't want my limbs broken," Sebastian said firmly, shaking his head.
Everyone laughed in response.
Lorraine smirked triumphantly. "I told you so. He's just a lackey with empty bravado. He's just all bark and no bite.
