Chapter 1252 I Told You I Am Not in The Mood
“I am going to work.”
“Eat your breakfast.”
There was breakfast laid on the table.
But Gloria wasn’t in the mood to join him. Starving as she was, she said drily, “I’m not hungry. There is some urgent business waiting for me to deal with in the office.”
Considering that he had stomach cancer, she managed to contain herself and did nothing radical.
Gloria told herself repeatedly in her heart that she should not be mad at him, or simply should not be emotional at all. Let bygones be bygones.
She must bear the consequences of her own acts and choices.
She had no one but herself to blame as she was the one who loved Jordy and chose to marry him without hesitation even knowing that he had no feelings for her. She thought the combination would fix everything. But the failure of it dealt her a head-on blow and brought her back to her sense.
It didn’t matter that much any longer as it was a done deal. What mattered now was to correct the wrong.
She eventually realized that she had Jordy to thank for bringing her back. Belongs to (N)ôvel/Drama.Org.
Gloria closed her eyes, taking another breath. When she reopened them, the world became clearer.
She seems to have recovered.
But this time, she felt completely sober.
This change had given her a new perspective on Jordy.
Seeing her leaving, Jordy’s face darkened. “Gloria White, what are you running away from?”
As he spoke, he made a stride forward and seized Gloria’s hands swiftly before Gloria could recoil.
Gloria frowned slightly and struggled. “Let go,” she yelled.
Jordy stared at her coldly and silently, as if waiting for her to respond further.
Gloria made another futile struggle and frowned slightly as she replied, “I’m not in the mood to have breakfast with you. Is that a satisfactory answer?”
Jordy’s eyes grew darker, his eyes piercing into hers. “I need an explanation,” he demanded.
“An explanation?” Gloria could no longer keep her anger in check after hearing what he said. This man knew nothing. “This place has been a place of sorrow for me. I was too stupid to stay here and wait for your response which never came. Nothing has changed. Every corner of this place is reminding me how pathetic I was and what a failure I have been. I owe it all to you. So, Jordy Collins, what more explanation do you want?”
Gloria was getting even more emotional, raising her voice higher.
Jordy’s eyes glistened blankly. Gloria’s answer was such a shock to him. He still held Gloria’s hand, his lips tightly shut.
Gloria tried to wave his hands off, but it had been proved to be another futile try. “Let go!” Gloria asked irritably.
She wanted to go, to run away from this shadowy place of sorrow.
“Breakfast first,” Jordy said in a husky voice.
Gloria’s face went even darker as the man dragged her back to the table. “I told you, I’m not in the mood,” she said irritably as she struggled.
