Mates 49
Chapter 49 FREDA WHITLOCK I was taken aback by Cisco’s abrupt question. How could he say such a thing. They hardly knew each other. “Cisco how could you suggest such a thing?” I scolded as I glared at him. “This man is just a stranger, we don’t take ride from strangers, I’ve always told you this”. I finished “But mommy, I’ve seen you a lot always talking to Harper’s daddy. And even on my birthday, saw you both going into your room together. So how can you say he’s a stranger when you are both staying together in the same room?” He asked innocently. My cheeks reddened instantly at the thought of Cisco seeing all my interactions with Kaiden. You really couldn’t hide anything from kids. I glanced at Kaiden for help but he had a smirk on his face as he leaned on the car and he seemed pleased with the whole. situation I had put myself in. He raised his eyebrow in a look that said ‘you should have let him come with me earlier to avoid all this embarrassment’. I looked at Cisco who stared at me expectantly and I was speechless. I bit my lip as I thought of what to say. Just then Kaiden interrupted my thoughts. “Okay now kiddo, let’s not stress you mommy any further” he Chapter 49 1268 Vouchers said as looked at me with a smile. A**hole. “Why don’t I take you to school and you can finish this conversation with your mommy later? You are already running late”. Cisco nodded and Kaiden grabbed his hand as they began to walk to his car. Just then, Kaiden looked back. “You coming?” He asked with a smirk as Cisco looked at me expectantly. I wasn’t going to sit in Kaiden’s car and give him the pleasure that he had won this round. So I turned away slightly and kept quiet: Kaiden must have gotten the hidden meaning as he pressed no further and took Cisco in his carAll text © NôvelD(r)a'ma.Org.
and they drove off. I let out an exasperated sigh as I watched their car fade into the distance. I walked to my car still in thought, Kaiden was obviously trying to force his way into our lives. He was trying so hard to get Cisco to warm up to him which he didn’t need to because Cisco liked him already. That was already confirmed today with the question Cisco asked. And no doubt Kaiden was going to use that as a leverage to get closer to us. Which meant our secret was going to be exposed sooner or later. I couldn’t just sit down and watch that happen. Kaiden must have been surprised I didn’t object when he hugged Cisco. He should know I didn’t do it for him but for my dear baby boy who deserved to at least have a hug from his father. Chapter 49 11 I had seen how troubled Cisco had been regarding this whole daddy issue, I just wanted to give me a chance to feel the love of a father. The poor boy had been taunted by his friends in school about not having a father. My heart twisted in pain and guilt at all he had been facing since we came back. He had never been troubled by anything when we still in city, in fact the problem escalated when Kaiden came storming back into our lives. It was all his fault that Cisco had seen us together and was beginning to have doubts. He was going to ask me what connection I had with Kaiden and I prayed fervently for that day never to come. Because if Cisco knew he had a father, he would know about the other secrets as well. And he was so young, it was going to break him. He would hate Kaiden for not acknowledging me as his mate. And he would hate me for rejecting the mate bond and hiding the fact that he had a father. I was all so confused and scared. And I could only blame it on Kaiden. Ever since our argument at the party, I knew Kaiden would try every means possible to get into Cisco’s good books. And he was succeeding. What even surprised me more was the fact that Kaiden healed me. I had clearly rejected the mate
bond. It wasn’t supposed to have any effect on me whatsoever. Or was there still a tiny thread that joined I and Kaiden together?. Or was this just one of the Moon goddess’s trick to get me back with Kaiden? Chapter 49 Or was this all part of Kaiden’s plan because he had proved to me that he would go to any length to take Cisco away from me. He had held my hand so gently I almost thought it was genuine. I remembered how Gia purred in satisfaction when he used his healing abilities to close the wound. My heart fluttered a little but I waved it off. This was all part of Kaiden’s master plan to get into my head. I had rejected the mate bond and I planned to make it stay that way. So whatever plan he was cooking up in his head was never going to work on me. I didn’t know how he was able to heal me, and if the mate bond wasn’t properly severed then it was going to pose a problem for me. I thought. Unable to understand anything, I shook my head to clear my thoughts and I went back to my car as I tried to fix the problem. After many attempts and a few kicks here and there, the car finally roared back to life and I couldn’t suppress the squeal that escaped my mouth. My mind wandered to how the car stopped working earlier, the probability that the universe and moon goddess were all working together in Kaiden’s favour made me frown a little. I checked the time. Kaiden must have dropped Cisco in school by now. I hated that he won this round. But I was grateful we were able to get Cisco in school on time. I got into my car and took a deep breath. Things weren’t working in my favour and I didn’t like it, but I shook my head and decided to let the matter rest. I ignited the engine and drove off.
