Chapter 115
"I don't know who it is," I replied.
"So, why are you saying it isn't your Aunt? A crime scene took place under my roof. I'm trying to serve justice to who it is due and you are not helping one bit."
"If the she-wolf lady says it is not her aunt, then it isn't. Stop stressing," Aunt Freya said as she joined us.
"Where is Emma? I want to see her."
"Emma is with my parents. They decided to take her out for ice-cream and they are giving her their own tour of the mansion," Atlas replied. "So, you want this case to be swept under the carpet."
He was referring to Zara and I nodded. "I want to let this go."
His veins popped and he glared at me. "Well, this is on you."
Angrily, he got up from his throne and dashed out of the room.
"Elaina," Zara called out. She ran to me and hugged me. "Thank you."
I hugged her back and I pulled away from her. "I'll be going now!
She opened her mouth to talk, but before she could say anything more, I left for my room.
In my room, I saw a note on my bed and decided to pick it up.
"Athena, you don't belong here." Those were the words in the note and I froze.
The random flashes of memories were triggered again. I began to experience what I was experiencing at the coffee shop when Emma was getting bullied.
I heard a noise and my eyes fell on my window. I could have sworn to have seen a masked person in all black.
But that will be too scary, because where my room was was extremely high. I wanted to get out of the room and check things out for myself, but I could not move.
Then I remember Zara's words about my late father's experience of being unable to move even if he was about to get run over by a bus.
I was doomed.
But this had to be the doing of someone who knew me well. The one person that came to mind was Zara. She was the only one who knew of my past in detail, but again, I would not have known how much she knew if she had not stepped out and told me herself.
I looked at the window again and the fact that someone in black was at my window was clear now. The person was trying to open the window from the outside. I tried opening my mouth to shout, but I could not.
Then, I noticed that the person
"Mom!"
hid away again.
Emma was here. My heart warmed up. I wanted to tell her to run and on her way, send help to me, but I could not.
"Mom." She shook me and seeing that I was not moving, she began to shout.
In a few minutes, some guards dashed into my room.
Relief washed over me. Today, I won't be killed.

ZARA'S POV
Of course, the wine I gave Elaina was poisoned. I smiled in satisfaction when I saw her fall, but when I got close to her and crouched down before her, I realized that she was faking the whole thing. I bared my teeth and almost went ahead to try to strangle her in anger, but I had to hold myself back.
One might wonder why I wanted her dead. The answer was simple.Original content from NôvelDrama.Org.
Revenge.
It was the same reason I took her out of the pack when I got the chance to.
Elaina was Athena, the mentally ill daughter of my cousin, Darius.
His father was one of the people that stopped me from having my pup, because according to him, the child would be a terror. Since then, I could no longer conceive.
So, why should Darius have a pup like that when I was not allowed. I was not powerful enough like his dad, my uncle, to stop him openly, but I decided to do so the way that I could.
Like I did, I wanted him to experience the feeling of losing a child. The fact that my pup was not going to be accepted by society made me feel the need to protect him the more.
I was beyond hurt when the pup had to be aborted eventually.
I wanted Darius and his mate to feel exactly how I had felt and they did.
My plan worked. However when I found out that Athena had survived and returned to the pack, healed, I got devastated.
Nobody knew who she was yet, but it would only take a matter of time before they knew, so I felt the need to kill her before Darius knew that his daughter was back and healthy.
Infact, the plan was to let them know that she had come back and then was killed.
Seeing that she had faked getting poisoned pissed me off. It simply meant that she did not trust and it would be hard to kill her if that was the case.
Time to get questioned by the Alpha came and I decided to pull another trick. Even if I was going to get caught, I had to kill Athena.
I placed a triggering note on her bed and hired an assassin. The plan was simple. She getting killed by the hired assassin now will be easy because she would be too fazed by her flashbacks to shout.
But, to my surprise, Athena spoke in my favor. That meant that she trusted me. I smirked. I knew that calling for help would give this result.
I began to rethink killing her now, but it was too late now. By the way, I was going to get her killed anyway. So, it was better to get things over with.
So, I sat in my room waiting for the good news and maybe trial later on.
My phone beeped and I picked up the call immediately. It was a call from the hired assassin I got,
I flung my phone to the wall after the call. He could not kill her because of that meddling ward of hers called Emma. I gritted my teeth.
It was ti
to put that child where she belonged.
