Chapter 28
Just as Nydia was about to go to bed, she received a phone call from Willette.
“Hello, sister.”
“Where are you?”
“I’m at home.”
“What about Barclay?”
“I don’t know, what’s wrong?”
“I’m at his house now, but he’s not here. Are you really at home?” Willette questioned, “You’re not lying to me, are you?”
Nydia sneered inwardly. She knew that Willette went to Barclay’s house to catch her and Barclay. If she admitted to taking Barclay home, Willette would make a big deal out of it.
“Sister, how can you say that? If you don’t believe me, we can video call.” She directly opened the video call and showed her bedroom. Willette was speechless.
“Where did Barclay go if he didn’t go home?”
“I really don’t know. I didn’t go to find him. I messaged him and told him that Jesse wouldn’t let me go out, and then I ignored it.”
“Why didn’t you tell me?” Willette got angry.
“Sister, I called you, but your phone was off.”
Nydia confidently defended herself without giving Willette any handle.
“Which nightclub is he at?”
Nydia gave her the address and then hung up the phone.
She smiled as she held her phone. Willette definitely wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight.
As for what the secretary would do to Barclay, she didn’t care. All she wanted was results.
Nydia slept peacefully that night, but others might not have been as peaceful.
When Barclay opened his eyes in the morning and saw the unfamiliar surroundings, he was startled when he turned to see the person next to him.
“Why are you here? Where am I?”
The secretary was awakened. She opened her eyes and saw Barclay, and tears instantly rolled down her cheeks, which also scared Barclay.
He also noticed that the corners of her mouth were injured.
“Don’t cry first, what’s going on?” Barclay was very irritable. He was completely naked, and the secretary was wearing a nightgown. It was obvious that something inappropriate had happened.
“Last night you drank too much, and I didn’t want to send you back home. If I took you to a hotel and someone saw us, it wouldn’t look good. So I brought you back home, but then you… ”
She spoke fiercely, and then began to cry.
“After you finished drinking, you became aggressive. I tried to get you to lie down, but you grabbed onto me and wouldn’t let go. I struggled to break free, but you even hit me.”
If he hadn’t seen the bruises on her face, he would have doubted her words. But the bruises were so obvious, and he himself could feel a dull pain in his back.© NôvelDrama.Org - All rights reserved.
“My back… it hurts.”
“I was scared, so I grabbed onto your back and scratched you. But you were completely irrational because of the alcohol.”
Barclay felt extremely annoyed. What was going on here? He had just been discovered being intimate with his secretary by Willette, and now they were sleeping together?
Damn it, it was all Nydia’s fault. If she had come to pick him up last night, nothing would have happened. Even if something did happen, Nydia would have been easier to control than his secretary.
Besides, sleeping with Nydia would be like slapping Jesse’s face. That would be the best revenge.
“Okay, stop crying,” Barclay said coldly. His secretary stopped crying immediately.
“I’m sorry. I won’t say anything. I can pretend that nothing happened.”
Barclay was very annoyed. He got up and went to the bathroom to take a shower before putting on his clothes.
“I’ll think about this and talk to you later.” He warned his secretary before leaving, “Don’t mess things up.”
