Chapter 28 Have a Dinner
Chapter 28 Have a Dinner
Belle took bus or subway to school when she was in college, so she was familiar with the surrounding
of M University. Five years passed, the change here was not big.
Angel had drunk a lot of wine last night and had not slept well. Although Heidi had made her a
refreshing soup in the morning, she was still exhausted from the whole morning's physical work.
As the car drove steadily, Angel dozed off.
Before falling asleep, she was still thinking, Angel did not know Jason, because the Duncan family
never let her appear in public.
And when Belle took her out of the door, the foster family had left.
So, Angel did know Jason.
So, now she was Angel.
He was the disciple of Hugo, the heir of the Foster family.
But, what Belle made the mistake, Angel would not do it again.
The sun shone on her, making her skin fair.
Her brows were delicate. When she fought, she would wear an evil smile on the face.
Her eyelashes were long and thick, and when they were opened, they seemed to be fitted with proper
eyeliner. When they were closed, they seemed to be perched on a pair of butterflies, trembling that
people couldn't help but want to touch them.
Her lip color was light. When her lips corner curled, it would show an innocent smile.
Jason had stopped the car, quietly looking at the sleeping girl.
Her black hair was slightly curly.
Jason always had a feeling that this girl was like Belle, in addition to appearance.
Jason reminded himself that Belle was nice to her and she must inadvertently learned the
characteristics of Belle.
It must be so.
Belle liked all kinds of beautiful things.
Was she so nice to Angel because she was good looking? Or because her intelligence and fortune
made her distressed?
Angel's eyelashes fluttered.
Jason took back his eyes and pretended to look at his phone.
“Jason?” Angel woke up and looked outside. Had she fallen asleep?
Jason faintly said, “You are hungry, let’s have dinner, and then I will send you back.”
Angel was about to speak but her stomach duly growled. © 2024 Nôv/el/Dram/a.Org.
She was embarrassed.
It was Professor Jordan who made her work as a coolie all morning. Even the dumplings could not
save her stomach, leaving her hungry and sleepy!
And made a fool of herself -
Jason had opened the door for her.
This was a very warm and unique shop, with small partitions. Although there were many guests, they
were all quietly talking. It was not noisy, which made Angel feel good.
Jason chose a corner of the position to sit down and ordered dishes.
He did not ask Angel's opinion, and she did not pay any attention. She looked around curiously.
Jason helped her set the table.
Angel whispered, “Thank you!”
Jason gently said, “Hugo let me take good care of you in the future, so if there is any need, just come
to me.”
He reached for Angel's cell phone, which had no lock screen.
He saved his phone number in it, and added her WeChat with remarks: Jason.
Angel was stunned, looking at a series of operation of Jason.
She said, “Jason, thank you for helping me in Yany Restaurant.”
Jason was stunned. She only mentioned Yany Restaurant, and did not mention about yesterday, so it
seemed that she was drunk and did not remember it. Aaron and Heidi did not tell her.
He handed his chopsticks to Angel and said faintly, “You're welcome.”
Then he asked, “You and your sister don't get along very well, do you? I think she's been very unkind to
you.”
Angel chuckled, “We're half-sisters. They suffered a lot to get into our family, so naturally they will
blame on someone else. And I happen to be the softest one.”
Jason raised eyebrows, “You seem not to care about them.”
Angel smiled. “What should I? There are so many good things to do in the world, why bother with
something that isn't?”
Jason showed a smile, “Reasonable. I heard from Hugo that you are a good student. You are 23 years
old and you will graduate this year with a PHD, you are awesome.”
Angel glanced around at the customers and smiled faintly. “What's the big deal? I just studied when
everyone else was eating and sleeping. I was an idiot caused by fear.”
Jason was astonished at her straight forward with frank, “An idiot?”
Angel nodded. “Yeah, you're not a local, right? All the big families in this city know that there's an idiot
young lady in Duncan family, and that's me. And then I had a terrible car accident, and I didn't expect to
be able to live and became normal. So I made up for the years I had wasted, and studied hard.”
Angel paused, “Everything in this world is very difficult. Even if a cook, a waiter has its own hardships.
But the study is the fairest thing, you gain if you pay.”
Jason praised her, “So the teacher likes you very much.
Angel's hands were resting on her chin, “When Hugo liked a person, he would praise him so much,
magnifying his merits and using them as a foil to his own extraordinary qualities.”
Jason smile. She should be familiar with Hugo's temper, like Belle.
Hugo often signed when he mentioned Belle.
When the dishes served, Angel's eyes lit up.
Jason knew she would like the dishes he ordered.
She liked meat like Belle.
He ordered Belle's favorite dishes.
Angel picked up the soup spoon to fill a bowl of soup and handed it to Jason, “Thank you for inviting
me to dinner!”
Jason was shocked by her smile. Belle must like her pure and clean smile.
He took the bowl and whispered, “You are welcome.”
The mood was throbbing.
Belle, when having a meal with him, always gave him rice or soup to him first.
Angel took the first sip of the soup and exclaimed, “Wow, good!”
Jason was absent-minded.
Her demeanor and action was the same with Belle!
Angel looked at Jason, “Had you grown up in foreign country? Hugo said you became his student when
you were in M Country.”
“I'm a local, but I was sent abroad when I was 18, and I didn't come back until two years ago,” Jason
said, “So I did not know you.”
Angel tucked a slice of pork into her mouth. “Delicious. Well, it's normal not to have heard of me. My
dad considered me a disgrace, and the less people know about me, the better.”
Jason looked at her. It should be a sad story, but she was like telling others’ story.
But she was completely indifferent, as if these things were all normal.
Facing a girl who had such a bumpy life but tried to live well, who could have hard heart to her?
Jason thought Belle must be soft when she faced such a girl.
Angel from the dish took a shrimp, peeled the shell, and then said, “I think you are not order than my
brother, you don’t know each other. Do you know William, Anna?”
She did not mention Belle.
Jason looked at Angel who dipped in the sauce and froze.
He nodded slowly. “Yes.”
Belle was good at taking care of others.
Once had dinner in the Newman family, she silently shelled shrimps for him and Anna, but she had not
had one.
He and Anna never touched troublesome food, unless someone helped them.
Angel looked at him. Jason's eyebrows were engraved Belle’ heart.
At the moment he, drooping eyes, covered his mood.
What did he think of?
Wasn’t he familiar with those people? But he was indifferent, even to Anna.
Angel shelled another shrimp. “Weren't you with them when you went abroad? You can all play
together, can't you? You have similar backgrounds and similar ages. I suppose you are all from that
elite school?”
Jason slowly raised his eyes, served her kale and shook his head gently, “I was suddenly sent abroad
by my family. For more than a year, in addition to my tutors of various courses, I had not met anyone,
including my parents, and no way to contact with others.”
“Then my family's business went wrong. I went to college and managed my family's business while
studying. For some unavoidable reasons I lost contact with everyone.”
Jason's tone was slow and serious.
But every word was carefully considered.
He did not know why he had to explain all this patiently.
But he said it anyway, to a little girl who didn't know and probably wouldn't care at all.
The girl didn't care about herself or her family, so how would she care about other people?
Angel took his every word seriously as if it was precious.
The two stopped talking.
Jason gently stirred the soup in the bowl.
Angel kept shelled the shrimp.
Finally she understood why Jason suddenly disappeared at that time.
Angel felt relieved at last.
