Chapter 189
Chapter 189
Even if Scott was not the one to rescue Olivia himself, the fact of the matter was, that he was willing to leave the other woman's side to check on Olivia.
In Olivia's terms, this was a victory of another form. After all, no woman would be able to sit with the idea of their boyfriend leaving her in the middle of the night to check on another woman.
Jonas snickered at the thought of this. As smart as Olivia was to lay out this trap, she had no idea how disappointed she would be. Unbeknownst to her, Naomi was not the kind of person to get upset at Scott for leaving her in the middle of the night. On the contrary, she was probably still fast asleep and had no idea Scott even left.
Meanwhile, just as Jonas guessed, Naomi was still indeed fast asleep in her comfortable hotel bed. She had no inkling of what happened that night, nor how serious it was. She was deep in her slumber, having pleasant dreams of her own.
Meanwhile, Olivia was brought to the hospital where the doctors wheeled her into the emergency room.
The Mercedes-Benz pulled to a halt in a parking space across the hospital. The driver turned off the engine.
Jonas' car pulled up at the hospital entrance. He got out of the car and sprinted into the hospital. He knew that Scott would never show himself to Olivia that night, and the only reason he was even waiting outside at that moment was because he owed a favor to Connor.
Therefore, Scott would not leave until he made sure Olivia was alright, as per his promise to Connor.
Scott was a man who stuck to his word.
Scott leaned against his seat, his eyes closed. However, only a few moments later, his eyelids flew open as he picked up his phone to glance at it.
Was he checking the time? Or was he seeing if anyone texted him? There was no way to tell.
Scott stared at the screen for a long time. His phone was silent all this while. No calls, no messages, nothing.
After a long time, Scott finally put down his phone and closed his eyes once more.
Meanwhile, the doctors treated Olivia's wound as appropriate. She cut herself multiple times in an attempt to remain conscious throughout her kidnapping. The doctors bandaged her up and then gave her an injection of anxiolytic and an IV drip. An hour later, Olivia was fast asleep on the bed.
Jonas stood outside the door, waiting. As soon as the doctor appeared, he assigned one of his men to look after Olivia, then approached the doctor. "How is she doing?"
"Thankfully her wounds aren't too deep and they'll heal just fine. She'll feel better once she finishes the IV drip we give her. She'll recover in no time at all."
"How long will she be unconscious?"
The doctor glanced at his watch. "She'll probably wake up tomorrow morning."
"Thanks, doctor."
The doctor left. Jonas checked the time on his phone and then dialed Scott's number.
Scott's eyelids flew open when he felt his phone buzz. He glanced at Jonas' name on the screen, then picked up the call. "Hello?"
"She's fine. They've got her on an IV drip and treated her wounds. She's asleep now and will probably wake up tomorrow morning."
With that, he even added, "She was the one who hurt herself. No one managed to take advantage of her."
Both of them knew what this meant.
Scott was not at all surprised by this. it was as though he saw this coming all along.
"Thanks, Jonas."
"No problem. Are you going to leave now, or will you wait for her to wake up? I've stationed some of my men here to keep an eye on her, so she'll be fine."
Scott stared out the window at the empty streets before him. "You should go home and get some rest."
Jonas immediately understood—Scott was intending to wait for Olivia to wake up to make sure she was okay. "Alright then. I'll give you the number of the man I've put in charge. He's standing guard right outside her door, so if anything happens you can speak directly to him."
"Thanks, Jonas."
With that, they hung up.
Jonas texted Scott the phone number of the man he put in charge, then got into his car and left. Scott glanced at the number, texted something to the man, and then placed his phone aside so he could rest. Please check at N/ôvel(D)rama.Org.
However, all of a sudden, his phone buzzed with a message.
