Chapter 1850
Chapter 1850
Mrs. Holman nodded. "Uh-huh. I heard that you have come back from abroad!"
"The headquarters transferred me back to take over the domestic business. I've planned to call upon you when appropriate!" Abby smiled and continued enthusiastically, "Mrs. Holman, my driver is waiting outside of the hall. Let's send you back home, okay? We can have a talk on the way."
When Tina heard this, her heart sank slightly.
She already had a hunch that their journey this time would turn out to be in vain.
Sure enough, Mrs. Holman looked at Abby, Tina, and Susan, as if she was thinking about something.
Compared to Tina and Susan, Abby was more familiar with Mrs. Holman.
In this case, Mrs. Holman would naturally choose Abby as a companion. She quickly made a decision. "Okay!"
Abby stepped forward and took over Mrs. Holman's suitcase.
Mrs. Holman said faintly to Tina and Susan, "Sorry. See you next time!"
After that, she and Abby walked out of the hall together.
Susan's eyes widened when she saw that Mrs.
Holman chose Abby as her companion. She was both angry and disappointed. "D*mn it! Abby Amery has gone too far. She did it on purpose!"
Of course, Tina could also noticed that Abby did it on purpose.
She and Abby were competitors now, so it was reasonable for Abby to do so.
Tina tugged at Susan's sleeve. "Let's go!"
Susan nodded helplessly. "Hum!"
After their attempt in the airport failed, Tina was not discouraged at all. The next day, she took a taxi to Mrs. Holman's company.
The receptionist asked politely, yet alienatedly, "Do you have an appointment?"
"No, I don't!" Tina shook her head.
The receptionist revealed a professional smile and clicked on the computer keyboard. "If you don't have an appointment, you can only wait over there. I'll inform Mrs. Holman of your visit. When she's done with her work, she'll arrange for you to meet her!"
Tina said, "Thank you!"
She sat down on the sofa in the rest area, which was on the right side of the hall, and waited patiently.
A very long time had passed, and the sun was setting now. Tina finally felt that she could not wait any longer. She went to the reception counter again and asked the receptionist.
The receptionist replied, "I'm sorry, but Mrs.
Holman has been busy. I'm afraid she doesn't have time to see you today. Maybe you can try tomorrow!"
Tina was speechless."..."
For three days in a row, Tina was rejected for the same reason.
She had failed to see Mrs. Holman during this period.
Every day, Tina could only leave the office building unwillingly.
After being rejected many times, Tina became absolutely sure that Abby must be the one who was responsible for this. She must have deliberately asked Mrs. Holman to avoid meeting Tina.
At night, the moon was shining brightly in the sky.
Tina was sitting cross- legged on a low table in front of the window, and staring blankly at a pile of blank paper.
The pen was held in her hand, yet she was at a loss where to start.
Mrs. Holman had refused to meet Tina all along, but Abby could have the chance to stay with and talk to her.
As a result, Abby must be taking a lead in this contest, as she had a lot of contact with the target client in private. If things went on like this, Abby would prevail on the basis of the advantage she had, and it would be very likely for Tina to lose the contest.
Tina was indeed very confident in her own talent and capabilities in fashion design. Content property of NôvelDra/ma.Org.
However, although Tina was confident in herself, the contest result still depended on the judge, Mrs. Holman, who had emphasized that she would choose the design work which was more attractive to her.
In this way, the personal preferences of Mrs. Holman would determine who was the winner, and who was the loser. In order for the design work to be satisfactory to Mrs. Holman, it would be better
for the designer to learn about her preferences in advance.
This almost seemed like a mission impossible for Tina at present.
Tina sighed in a low voice.
A strawberry was suddenly inserted into her mouth.
Tina hummed as a response. The strawberry juice was sweet and delicious.
It was Wilson who did it. He was now sitting next to Tina with a full plate of strawberries. He said with a smile, " Isla and her classmates went to the agriculture park this afternoon with the teacher. These strawberries were picked by Isla!"
Tina's eyes were filled with happiness. "It's so sweet!"
Wilson crossed his long legs, and casually put one of his arms on the sofa, and the other one on Tina's shoulder. His sitting posture was casual, and his eyes squinted at her. "Tina, you appeared to be absent-minded while you were eating the dinner. What's wrong with you?"
Tina became a little disappointed, and she put down the strawberry in her hand.
She pursed her lips and said, "Didn't I tell you before that I was going to pick up someone at the airport? That person was Mrs. Holman..."
Then, Tina told Wilson about the contest between Abby and her, and how she had been rejected by Mrs. Holman a number of times. Tina simply wanted to tell someone what had happened in order to relieve herself.
She was at her wit's end now.
Wilson listened to her carefully, and he touched his chin as he pondered. After a while, he said, "I'll pick you up after work tomorrow. I want you to accompany me to a banquet!"
"A banquet?" Tina was amazed.
"Uh-huh!" Wilson replied.
Tina couldn't help asking, "Do you need a female companion?"
Wilson did not answer her directly, and his expression was indifferent. "You'll know the reason when the time comes!"
Seeing that Wilson deliberately wanted to keep a secret from her, Tina smiled and felt amused.
At dusk, the sunset glow was very beautiful.
When Tina came out of the office building after work, the black Rolls- Royce had already been stopped at the roadside.
Wilson took her directly to a clothing shop, and the two of them respectively changed into the suit and evening dress for the banquet.
An hour later, the car stopped near the gate of a five-star hotel. Terry said respectfully, "President Chin, Miss Hall, here we are!"
Wilson pulled Tina's hand, and she got off the car.
Wilson was wearing a brown- black suit tonight, with a dar- red handkerchief on the left- side pocket. Tina was wearing a wine- red dress with her shoulders naked, and the outline of her dress was as smooth as flowing water. The two of them stood together as if they were wearing his- and hers clothes. They were such a perfect match!
When they entered the hotel, the banquet had already begun.
It seemed to be an ordinary banquet, where gentlemen and ladies talked to each other and enjoyed themselves thoroughly.
Wilson did not tell Tina why she was brought here. For this reason, she was a little confused.
She did not ask him further. She simply tried to behave properly as his female companion.
Suddenly, Tina caught sight of a beautiful figure which she was familiar with.
She was a little surprised.
The girl whom she saw was none other than Maya Cherry. She was wearing a long and black fishtaillike skirt, which made her look slender and beautiful. She was standing in front of the long buffet table. After the waiter who was holding a tray in his hand left, Maya happened to look in the direction where Tina was.
Tina raised her eyebrows slightly.
She couldn't help but caress the ring finger of her right hand.
"Tsk... Tsk..."
If she had known earlier that Maya would be here tonight, Tina would have put on the diamond ring.
It's good even to make Maya annoyed with the diamond ring!
Wilson, who was standing near Tina, frowned after he saw Maya.
He raised his hand slightly and whispered something into Terry's ear. Terry nodded and strode away.
At this time, an old friend called out Wilson's name. Wilson and Tina nodded to him. Then, walked over to talk to this friend.
Tina picked up some fruits to eat.
Maya walked straight toward Tina with her hands raising the hem of her skirt. She seemed to have bad intentions.
Tina looked calm and composed.
But when Maya got closer and closer to her, Tina suddenly looked surprised.
"Huh?"
