Chapter 98
Chapter 98 Rest Area
Seeing that Logan Morgan had begun to doubt Emily's identity, Grace's purpose had been achieved.
After all, she still needed to maintain a gentle image, so she didn't push the matter further.Property of Nô)(velDr(a)ma.Org.
There was plenty of time ahead; she wasn't afraid of not being able to deal with Emily.
Grace changed the subject, "Look, there's a children's playground up ahead."
Logan Morgan chuckled, "Herry loves going to children's playgrounds. Herry, shall I take you to the playground?"
Herry held a balloon he snatched from another kid, "No, I'm grown up now. I want to play on the pirate ship! And the go-karts!"
Grace said, "But Mom and Dad don't dare to play those thrilling games. Your sister is pregnant."
"Then let him accompany me!" Herry pointed at Nathan, "Hey, you want to marry my sister, don't you? You need to please me, you know?"
Nathan raised an eyebrow. But he didn't want to accompany him.
This kid didn't seem like a good kid, and Nathan didn't want to trouble himself, plus...
He glanced in Emily's direction.
Nathan saw her standing next to Jackson. They were talking. They stood close, with an intimate posture. There was even a hint of a smile at the corner of Jackson's lips. It made him angry. But Emily's attitude made him feel slightly better.
Emily stood straight, and it was evident that she was deliberately keeping her distance from Jackson. Although they stood close, she exuded a sense of detachment all over.
At least Emily wasn't interested in him at all.
That was good; after all, they hadn't officially divorced yet. He still had a chance to win Emily back.
Nathan remained silent, and Grace said, "Herry, you should be polite to Nathan; he's your brother-in-law."
Reluctantly, Herry said, "Okay, okay, Nathan, will you play go-karts with me?"
"You'd better let Jackson accompany you," Nathan had his own thoughts, "Jackson is a car designer. He must be good at go-karting."
It was clearly an excuse.
How could Jackson not see what he was thinking? How could Jackson let him succeed?
Jackson sneered, "My brother asked me to accompany Mr. Morgan. How could I leave Mr. and Mrs. Morgan to play by themselves? Mr. Morgan, there's a rest area ahead; shall we discuss business?" Grace nodded immediately, smiling, "You're always considerate. Nathan and Sophia are getting married soon. We're planning to buy them a car. Dear, let's talk to Jackson about it."
Logan Morgan still couldn't let go of his son, "But Herry..."
"Emily, as Herry's sister, why don't you take him to play for a while?"
This request wasn't unreasonable.
Emily had come representing
Jackson's company today. She had just said that her task was to take care of the Morgan family members. Since Jackson was busy, she
naturally had to take on the task of
looking after the child.
Jackson agreed to this arrangement. He was worried that Nathan would harass Emily. If Emily went to the children's playground, Nathan wouldn't dare to do anything directly to Emily. "Mrs. Morgan makes sense," Jackson instructed in a leadership tone, "Emily, take Herry to play for a while. Be careful."
The word "careful" was emphasized.
Everyone understood; he meant for her to be wary of Nathan.
Emily understood, and Nathan naturally caught on too.
He chuckled lightly, "Jackson, you're so kind to your subordinates. The security at this amusement park is good; what could go wrong?"
"You never know; anything could happen," Jackson hinted, but he quickly stopped paying attention to Nathan, leading Logan Morgan and Grace towards the rest area, "This way, please." Grace linked arms with Logan Morgan and walked away slowly.
She turned back and gave Sophia a look.
Sophia immediately caught on and approached, also linking her arm with Nathan's, whispering softly, "Nathan, let's go play too? It's my first time at this amusement park."
With Logan Morgan and Grace no longer around, Nathan didn't have to worry about anything. He simply shrugged off Sophia's hand, keeping his distance, and replied perfunctorily, "If you want to play, go ahead by yourself. I'm tired from work, and I'm not interested in this childish place."
Sophia felt like a dirty rag being cast aside by Nathan's disdain.
What's more infuriating was that his gaze remained firmly fixed on Emily, never once leaving her.
Sophia's anger was almost at its peak, but she remembered Grace's words just now; she couldn't argue with Nathan, she had to get along with him, be gentle, make him think she's good... Sophia forcibly swallowed down the anger that had risen to her throat and forced a smile, "Yes, you must be tired from work. You should relax today. Nathan, shall we also go to the rest area?" Of course not.
Nathan didn't want to go anywhere right now. "How about this, I'll escort you there, and you can rest. You're pregnant and wearing high heels, Are you willing to compromise your safety and health for beauty? Weren't you asking for a balloon just now? Stay with your parents, I'll go buy it for you."
Buying a balloon was probably just an excuse. His real intention was to find Emily.
Sophia said, "Okay."
Nathan was quite satisfied with her compliance and cooperation today, his attitude no longer as stern as before. "Then let's go to the rest area." "Okay, sure."
