Obsessive CEO’s Sinful Wife

Chapter 36

Chapter 36

Jenny did think that she was superior to them, but with a crowd around her, how could she say that out loud?

Some of the onlookers were even recording with their phone. Jenny was furious, but she had to maintain her composure.

Not long after, a lot of people came from the Sanitation Office too. They joined in on the search for the ring together with the people brought by the police.

And so, on that cold day, Jenny and Kristin stood next to piles of garbage and had to endure their stench the whole time while they were questioned by the police and surrounded by a crowd.

The ring could not be found, of course. When the police finally let Jenny and Kristin leave, they were close to fainting from the stench.

“Jenny, what should we do? This is a big deal now. It’s classified as a criminal case,” Kristin said uneasily back in the car. ” Who the hell called the cops anyway?”

“I’ll have someone go talk to the police so that the case will be forgotten,” Jenny said with a gloomy face.

She was more concerned about her image than the case. She was a popular celebrity who usually took selfies in various high- class places, but she was now photographed next to piles of garbage.

It probably wouldn’t be long before it became a hot topic. Jenny quickly called her agent to ask him to suppress the news.

Serenity now smelled like garbage. Even after she washed her hands a few times, her hands still smelled. Even after she changed out of her work clothes back into her own clothes, the smell still lingered.

“D*mn those rich people. They’re the ones who lost the ring but we have to do all the work for them. If the ring is that expensive, why didn’t she take better care of it?” Xyla complained.

Serenity said a few words to comfort her, picked up her bag, and left the Sanitation Office. All content © N/.ôvel/Dr/ama.Org.

Jenny’s incident meant that she went home later than usual today. The street lights have lit up by now. Cold wind blew on her face, stinging her a little.

Today, she once again experienced the drastic difference between her past and her present. When Jenny asked her to find the ring, she was completely powerless to resist.

Unless she was willing to quit the job, she had no choice but to rummage through the stinking garbage to find the imaginary ring.

In the past, even if she quit being a lawyer, she could find a lot of other jobs, but now, finding even one job was very difficult

for her.

If she wanted to survive, if she wanted to feed herself, she had no choice but to keep going.

She suddenly stopped in her tracks. She looked in a daze at the figure standing at the neighborhood entrance not far away.

It’s Jack!

He was waiting for her to come home!

The street light that fell on him coated his body in a layer of warmth.

But things were different now. At the very least, she was no longer alone.

“Jack,” Serenity ran towards him, but when she was about to reach him, she suddenly stopped.

He raised his beautiful eyes and looked at her in confusion. “Sis?”

“I… smell terrible right now. You shouldn’t get too close to me,” she said, “Let’s go home first. It’s cold outside.”

She was about to walk into the neighborhood when her body suddenly froze. A pair of arms had wrapped around her from behind. The next instant, she was pulled into a warm embrace.

“Jack!” she exclaimed.
