Chapter 387
Chapter 387
Amanda's heart raced even faster as she thought about it, and her cheeks flushed with a heat that betrayed her composure. But in the very next moment, she heard Chase's dismissive words, "There's a subway station up ahead. I'll drop you there. I've got things to do."
Without another word, he floored the gas pedal and unlocked the doors, tilting his head toward Amanda in a gesture that clearly meant 'let yourself out.'
Amanda's dreamy bubble burst, and she bit her lip in frustration. Her smile was strained as she replied, "Alright then, take care."
Reluctantly, she got out of the car and watched as Chase drove away without so much as a backward glance. She stomped her foot in irritation, and the warmth in her eyes instantly turned to ice.
Chase drove fast, catching up with Sasha's car in less than ten minutes. They pulled up to a swanky members-only club. Ever the gentleman, Jackson got out of his car and courteously opened the door for Sasha, escorting her inside.
That was when the paparazzi pounced, microphones at the ready, eager for a juicy quote.
"Jackson and Ms. Sasha, in your latest film ‘False Flirtations,’ you two have amazing chemistry. Any comments?"
With a poised curl of her lips, Sasha responded, "Working with Jackson is an honor. I'll do my best to live up to the role and not disappoint the fans."
Jackson reciprocated the politeness, saying, "Sasha is an actress I've wanted to work with for a long time. Now that I've got the chance, I'm going to make the most of it and deliver our best to the audience."Content held by NôvelDrama.Org.
Then came the tricky question. "Ms. Sasha, there were rumors about you being pregnant before marriage. Is it true? Who is the father? Someone from the entertainment industry?"
Sasha remained unfazed. "I'm sorry, but that is my personal life. When the time is right, I'll introduce him to everyone."
Handling the reporter's probing question with such composure was not Sasha's typical reaction, which caught Chase by surprise. Perhaps he had underestimated her.
Just as he was about to approach, he saw Sasha linking arms with Jackson, her smile warm and inviting. "Let's head in, Jackson. The kickoff party is about to start."
They walked through the hall, ignoring the flashing cameras, while onlookers whispered excitedly about their chemistry.
"This series is just so enticing! Can't wait to see Sasha flirting with Jackson on-screen," one whispered.
"Their acting is going to bring so much tension! But can Sasha truly embody her character's seductive nature?" another mused.
"Sasha's acting chops are solid. If she can bring her A-game like she does in her charity films, she'll surely deliver a stunning performance," someone else chimed in.
Another added, "There are so many iconic scenes – the bathtub kiss, the snow kiss, even a kiss while feverish and medicated. I screamed watching the original. I can only imagine how blush- worthy their rendition would be."
"Totally hyped! I heard this is Sasha's first on-screen kiss. Wonder if her boyfriend will get jealous."
Hearing these remarks, Chase's fists clenched involuntarily. What kind of roles was she taking on? She was flirting and kissing on-screen – the very thought sent off fireworks in his mind, leaving him feeling fragmented and agitated.
He immediately whipped out his phone and called the only married man in his circle of friends. As soon as the call connected, Chase asked impatiently, "Let me ask you something. If you supposedly hate a woman, but you get pissed seeing her with another man, what's that about?"
Roger chuckled mischievously on the other end. "Isn't it obvious? You’re jealous, man. Sounds like you've fallen for her, and you don’t even realize it. Are you clueless or what?"
